S.O.L.the idiot collection agency had 6 years to take these people to court so why did they wait they made the mistake now they pay for there mistake.

Agreed that if money is owed, money should be paid.  What about when its *wrong* information and the coersion techniques scam an elderly man (my 88 year old father) out of $1200?!?

I just a call from them today on my cell phone and on my job.  They claim that I owe money to an account I never had and cannot provide proof that I owe the money.  I told them that I would call the original creditor to verify that it was my  account, and they stated that they would not have the information.  Also,  they knew about my recent  loan and my credit score, which was information that was none of their business.  I have filed a complaint to the FTC and BBB, and I will send out a certified letter out to let them know that I want no more contact.

This company is now going by the name of Mediation Recovery Center. They sent a letter to someone I know trying to collect on a debt from the early 90s. They have 877-688-8288 listed for check by phone and also 877-254-2285 listed to call to make other arrangements. The address for the company is listed as PO Box 115, DeKalb, IL 60115. The website listed for this company is http://www.MRCBillPay.com

It is illegal to call anyone but you to discuss debts....if they issue a threat to garnish, ect. and don't follower through and if they keep this up it is harassment....deny debt, record conversations and notify the DA of your State and also of their State.

any charge off is exactly that.....taken off their taxes as bad debt.....anyone acquiring this debt takes the risk of not collecting since most of the charges not paid are Late Fee added that push account Over the Limit and then Over The Limit Fees accumulated also --- the original debt is usually PAID IN FULL before charge off but the fees remain and that is what is being purchased.

how do we stop these calls

Yep got the same call from Missy ext. 105 but when I called back some guy took the call.  A debt I don't remember from 2000 (11 years ago) I said I don't remember that debt and it is not showing on my credit report.  I honestly do not remember this credit card.  He stated they do not report the debt but when you apply for a loan they have your SSN tagged and that is when they contact you.  In the last 11 years I have had loans and other credit cards and there was no prior contact. (FISHY? YES)
He demanded that right there and then, on my lunch time, I decide how much I am going to pay, I explained that I was not at home nor in the position to figure out my bills so I could pay him...he was very pushy threatened to call my HR to verify wages and kept lowering the amount he would take as a payoff then wanting to know how much I could pay monthly.  When I stopped responding he got even more demanding saying when would I be home so he could call me to help me figure out my bills. I wll not be answering phone calls from them.

i keep getting a call from this guys and so sad they dont have anything to do better. Calling me about a debt which i dont have, i checked my credit and evrything was good. i'm filling a report to the attorney generals office to have their scam taken care of.

I sure hope I am never desperate enough for money to work for a collection agency. I think we should have bumper stickers made and go paste them on cars parked in the lots of collection agencies.

You are right on the money and even today in 2011 they are still up to their dirty little tricks.  

Don't fall for their scam.

This Dekalb County Solutions company has split into 2 companies.  Apparently one of the owners split to open his own collection company (see above post for the name.)  THey are STRUGGLING to keep the lights on so if you want them to go away, DON'T PAY!!  THe current owner is having a tough time keeping his own head above water, poor baby!!!  They won't be able to pay their piece of [***] employees if they can't collect on OLD debt!  The owner is doing most of the collecting  as he had to let a bunch of people go.  PLEASE DV them, threaten FCRA violations and DON"T pay them a red cent, they will be shut down!!!

I guess since they couldnt get me at home.This number started calling my parent's house.What a joke!

Contact the BBB in Chicago and make a claim.  My calls stopped within a week.
