- Vicky replies to DennisMost of the comments on this thread state this is not RBC but a scam of someone posing as RBC. I work at RBC and I'm getting calls too. If it were RBC they'd email me or call my office line.
- Glenda McD877-769-2547 keeps calling my cell. Wish someone would make them stop.
- Anon| 1 replyCaller advised he was from RBC. He was able to provide me accurate information about my current accounts with RBC. He was trying to upsell me on various products.
Just a telemarketer operating under the authorization of RBC.- Caller: RBC (Royal Bank of Canada

- RobI've been calls from this number for a long time - claims to RBC - I just hang up - I finally, just know, placed an app on my Telus phone called Mr. Number to block the number - hopefully it works - thanks for the posts

- AnonBeen getting calls from this number. Numbers I don't know, I look up and if surveys/scams etc, I save as XXX to not answer next time. I had sent RBC a note recently so last night I did answer this call out of curiosity. Did claim to be with RBC, had my name and which credit card type I have with them. Asked if I wanted limit increase, if it was my primary card etc.
Didn't give him any info; I know I came across as defensive/guarded but he was polite.- Caller: RBC

- richard| 1 replyReceived a call didn't answer and no voice mail. Definitely telemarketing or scam.
- SarahThis actually is RBC. After it called me 23 times in the last month, sometimes twice a day, I called their known 800 number to report the scam and they said it is actually them and it's a courtesy call to see if you have any problems with your banking. I asked to be taken off their call list and they said they can do it but it would take 6-8 weeks to take effect, then tried to sell me 2 different types of credit cards while they were "processing." So I'd say this is a scam, it's just the real RBC that's doing it.

- TredThis thread is an example of predatory business practices / tactics committed by financial institutions disguised as credit card services, loan servicing, credit card insurance, debt collection, reminder calls or any service provided by them. Yes, you have an established relationship with your banking institution, that does not allow them to harass, abuse, or exploit you , family, friends, elderly, vulnerable, and uninformed associated to you. Yes, you have an established relationship, you are still covered under all state and federal consumer protection rules, regulations, and laws. Call, write, send cease and desist for all communications related to your banking relationship, you may be surprised by a written reply acknowledging your request. Yes, disclosure vs non disclosure calls. This predation is industry wide!
- AAThis number called me three times a day, and still keep calling me everyday. I should say, that is more loyal than a boyfriend could be... but it is really really annoying. I answered once, and told them not to call again, but they still did. I am thinking to switch bank now. I am [***] hate RBC now...I never have the same trouble with any other bank. I just do not understand why this stupid bank could not stop calling me after I told them not to call again.
- AllisonThe person on the phone said he was from World Bank to me, and then started asking what my financial goals were. Was very hard to understand, and felt off so I hung up.
- Caller: World Bank (?)
- Mr.EI got this call several times. When I decided to answer they said they were from shaw. But it didn't sound real to me. He asked me how my service was and then offered me a promotion on a land line phone. I said no and then they just said ok and goodbye. Was a really weird call.
- BetaThis is RBC indeed. I called the # from back of my client card and verified with them.
They are trying to sell you more products. You can call their customer service and asked them to mark you as "no telemarketing". I just told them i have a rep at their branch and don't want these repeat calls.- Caller: RBC

- AJI've received this number for a few day. After I read so many post from you guys, I decided to call RBC customer service directly myself. Guess what?! YES, THAT"S RBC OUTBOUND CALL. The reason sometimes you guys will receive more than one call from that number is because if you don't answer it, the computer system will automatically dial again a few hours later. The purpose they call is to do a customer satisfaction check base on the information/account you have with RBC.

- EmmaThis number has called me about 5 times - very annoying. I think I answered once and they said they were calling about my RBC investments - they SOUNDED like the real deal. I am calling RBC to report this.
- robGot a call from this # - it is RBC...didn't ask me for any personal banking info. New the all teh products I had with RBC and balances. It is a courtesy upsell call, nothing really wrong with it. I asked to be added to their Do not call list as I have very little use for marketing type calls. If they want my business, have the branch call me!

The caller had full access to my RBC bank account information. - MyNameAreYouKiddingThis number called 5 times this week without leaving a message; including twice a day morning and evening for the last 2 days. I did not answer. An online search indicated the number may be associated with RBC, so I filled out a 'Contact Us' form on the RBC website.
