I received the call from 1- 877-769-2547 every day for about a couple of weeks. I never answered it. I called back and wanted to talk to the manager. The person said he was and wanted me to provide my personal information. So I hung up.

If the RBC is giving our numbers to a third party marketing company, where in the hell is the Privacy Commissioner?

Got a call from 877-769-2547 on the 16th Dec. 2014. When tried to pick up call, no answer from the other end. Tried to call # back and found that it is RBC. I have no account with them, so not sure why they call me and this is not the first or 2nd time I get called from this #.

Why can't it be blocked?  A call blocker should do the trick.

I kept getting this call. No VM and no answer on the other end. I called it back, went to an auto RBC line, and it was a truncated version of what you'd get from the main line you'd call. No buttons to press other than choosing english or french. The girl on the end didn't really seem to know what the number was about. She could only see that it was one of theirs and assumed they were trying to reach me for something. But why no VMs? Her searches seemed kind of hesitant and uncertain. I was not confident in providing her much in the way of personal info.

Called the main RBC line to ask about this number. He was able to find that it was one of their numbers and said it would be used to reach me about something, usually so that I would call them back. He seemed to think that there ought to be a recording or something. But there is nothing. If that's the case though why would they call you over and over and over with a recording? What the hell RBC???

Been calling me consistently for a months now and they are claiming that they are from RBC Bank and asking for my bank details. First and foremost why they would ask for my banking details as they are claiming they are my bank they should have it on file. Sometimes I want to talk for a while but I am working so do not have enough time to play with them

Royal Bank will NEVER call you and ask for personal details. Never. The number is probably spoofed (faked) and so is your caller.

This is definitely RBC calling.  I messaged their facebook page and confirmed this.  To have your phone # removed from their calling list, you need to call 1-800-769-2511.  I did this and the rep I spoke to said he was even on the list to have his # removed as well.  According to the rep, it can take up to 30 days for your removal request to go through.  I will just have to wait and see if it works.

    You are lying!!

They might be calling on Behalf of RBC. They are Not RBC employees.

They do not have the right to have access to your accounts.

In fact the Bank has to notify you if a Bank employee looks at your account (not authorized).

The standard contract does not allow full access to your accounts.

If they call again, ask them where in the contract it allows them to access your account.

    Stop lying.

Jeff, you are incorrect.  I used to work for RBC in this department (It's called proactive) and they are RBC employees.  They also have full access to all the clients banking information (With exception of RBC Insurance).  Regardless, RBC is annoying with their "Proactive solicitation".  Their avaya predictive dialing system is relentless and will continue to call.

It's RBC. Called to inform me about their recent fee schedule change and sell me credit cards I do not need. Guy had complete access to my financial info at the bank.
