I am so annoyed by this interference and inconvenient calling. Calls come up to four times a day from this number. I am at the point where I want to cancel my RBC account after 30 years. That is what it will take to make these calls stop.

it's my experience that unknown 1-800 numbers invariably end up being some insurance company trying to sell me stuff. 100% of the time it's because RBC gave them my info.

If I had known I'd be bothered all the time I would have never gotten RBC accounts. I just switched to ING (AKA Tangerine) and I'm very happy.

I too answered their call but gave them no info. Now they call 4-5 times a day but I never answer. Very annoying.

People here scare with unknown calls and why not we have to, because there are lots of scammers around us, even three times i have been in trouble with fake callers/scammers but here it is legitimate call "1 8777 692 547" when i got a call from this number first time i scared to pick up but i replied them and told them i m busy, then they have told me what is best to call you back, So they call me again next time and they were asking about my rbc experience Well my rbc exprience is very bad so i described all rbc exprience what i've faced. After that conversation i called this number 1 (800) 769-2555 which is genuinly associated with RBC consumer number and i reported the same thing than they check the number and said we dont know this number is genuine or not but the experienced you shared with them is in the process that means its legitimate call.

Getting called by this number too. Just a financial advisor trying to drum up business. RBC is not just aware of it, they encourage it. No different than getting a call from the Investor's Group advisor.

I kept getting calls from this number today, and after reading everyone else's messages I still decided to call the number back.  I spoke with a very nice gentleman who was very polite, courteous, and was easily able to access my account without me having to give him my account number!!  I gave him my name (which unfortunately is a 'common' name, so I then had to verify my birth date).  After that information he was able to then tell me exactly what dept. had been calling me and most likely why, which was because I'm a new RBC Customer he stated it was most likely a 'welcome call' to make sure that I am pleased and satisfied with my accounts/services etc so far.  From everything I experienced on the phone with the gentleman today, I would have to say that it is NOT a scam but that perhaps many of you have just sadly ended up getting some nothing but lazy CSR's who don't want to be bothered with doing their job properly ie. accessing your info. through your bank account # only...which I too would NEVER give out over the telephone, and especially to someone CALLING ME!!  

This number has been calling recently.  I don't normally pick up 1-800 calls.  If they want me they can leave a message and explain their business which they never do. Given the other comments below I think I will block the number...

I sent a message to RBC and is NOT RBC.They do not use this number.

This annoying number called my house nearly everyday.  Displayed as RBC.  I never answer this type of call and then wait for voice message.  No message left.

That is NOT true. I used to work for RBC (the head office customer service center) and YES, we DID make outbound calls to our customers (usually after supper) to discuss their RRSP's, etc.

YES, RBC does make outbound calls (from the customer service call center). Anyone who tells you from RBC that they don't make outbound calls do not know what they are talking about.

Hanging up on someone is not polite.

It's not a telemarketer. It's an RBC representative who does half of his day answering INBOUND calls from customers, related to their accounts, etc and spends the other half of his day making outbound calls. They are RBC employees. I should know, I used to work for RBC (head office) and it was part of my daily task.

877-769-2547 called when I wasn't home..states on the dial RBC....no msg left....I answered it yesterday...no one there ...I hung up right away...called just now...let it ring...

They were calling me in regards to my monthly account fees. I pay for my plan @ $13.95 and because of my extreme EMT use. I also pay an additional $20 or more per month.  RBC was simply calling to advise me that my plan of $13.95 isn't good enough for me and that I should move up one plan as it would be cheaper for me.
