it's not them. answered, told not to call me again. wanted information they should already have. they keep calling me.

I am reading what the others are saying and I am a rbc client   This is scary.

This is RBC. Just like any company, not all the the employees know all the phone numbers associated with all of the outbound calling departments and third party vendors. The reason they seem sketchy is because they have limited training and information, they're outbound sales people, usually foreign, trained to sell one product. It's not a "scam" but that doesn't mean any teller you talk to will know why you were called or what marketing lists you're on. Be reasonable people, get yourself on the national DNC list and tell the bank to suppress your name from all internal and 3rd party marketing when you speak to them. Marketing suppressions are taken very seriously by financial institutions, there are heavy penalties for non compliance.

Or... Go to the bank and ask the 20 year old teller if she knows the guy from India who called you and when she says no call the police... Obviously all RBC employees know each other, and this "financial advisor from rbc advice centre" is a fraud. Good catch, detectives.

THIS NEEDS TO STOP. VERY VERY VERY VERY ANNOYING. There is no way it is legit because then they would leave a message nobody calls more than once a day and doesn't leave a message if it isn't important!

It is RBC, calling clients who have left their bank and they want to know why.  All of their info about me
regarding past accounts was correct.  I didn't volunteer any info, just listened and politely said that
I was not interested in RBC anymore.

I never answer a call when it  comes up  on the phone as UNAVAILABLE. After they hang up do a reverse call search, if others have been getting it and saying its a scam, all you have to do is BLOCK THE CALL. I have 18 of these bad numbers blocked and my phone does not ring hardly at all anymore. Its not a cure all for the problem but it sure quiets things down

I have contacted RBC.  I have received information from 2 different departments.  They gave a similar response, the legitimate RBC phone numbers can be found on their website.  If they are a third party rep for RBC, then they are most likely calling from out of country.  Ask to be put through to a Canadian office where you can speak to a Canadian RBC customer service representative.  This annoys them about as much as you get annoyed by these phone calls or stick to your guns and let the calls ring through by not answering.

If you honestly believe it is a scam, then report the number to RBC, RCMP scam busters, or the Canadian anti-fraud division.  The bottom line is nothing can be done unless the calls originate from inside Canada.

This 1-877-769-2547 showed up with CID RBC on my phone screen.  I have called RBC to remove my name and they told me it would take up to 1 week to get my name off the list.  The fact is it has been more than 1 week and they still call me.  So they must be doing poorly I guess,  so that they have to dig out more business from their existing customer.  Well RBC you are annoying now and I am considering leaving you if you do not stop this call right now and I will definitely bring the business to your competitors.

I just actually phoned the real RBC 800 number they say this number 1-877-769-2547 is real and they are affiliated. They call sometimes twice a day now, several months ago i told them never to call again. It stopped for a while and now it is back. They are telemarketers, but the woman calls it proactive something or another?

And are calling for legitimate reasons i say hoooey. She is defending RBC's poor business practices...so there you have it. RBC has given your number to telemarketers!!

Oh i have blocked it and have told them so. Told very poor business practice and hung up on the real RBC for giving out our private unlisted number to these fools!

Unwanted call. Didn't answer & no message

This number has been calling me that past couple months.   very annoying.

This 877-769-2547 is definitely a scam. i was getting the same calls from 877-275-3961 (look it up like you did this one) They called me 3 times a day never left a message. i finally answered the number and they claimed to be CIBC and told me i was late on a payment and wanted me to pay the minimum payment to them over the phone. CIBC never calls about a missed payment and if they do call they leave a message asking me to contact them. Before i answered the "CIBC" number i looked it up and people were telling the same story like you guys are about this RBC scam. My advice to you is to answer and tell them you do not trust this number and threaten to report it. They will not call again. I got my first RBC scam call today and i will be unpleasant to them if they persist.
