No, you can spoof any number

First of all, I have to say as a first time Dell Customer I am beyond angry that they have a breach in their security and my name and information is now sitting in an Indian call centre. I have been called numerous times through this year since my Dell purchase. Including some very early weekend calls disturbing a house of people who were hoping to sleep in.
So today's Call April 13th 2018 was Fake Dell telling me they are picking up errors on their end from my PC which is not being updated properly.  And they would like to Take over my machine in order to fix these errors for me .
Total Scam.

People, when Dell bought the company back, retired public stock for about 25 billion, Michael Dell got real cheap and hired some really slimy 3 party companies to help with customer service. This is how they have so much information on you, but they are not legit, it's just a real good scam...block the number or call dell and complain that your information was compromised by Dell themselves....this is a well orchestrated scam...don't fall for it...

This is a scam.  When I challenged the guy and told him that I was going to call him back he replied "f*ck you" and hung out.

THIS IS A SCAM! Confirmed by Dell, that this is a known phone scam. I started getting these calls after my computer was returned from a Dell repair made under warranty. Apparently the scammer harvested the sevice tag number and my personal information when I sent it in for repair.

NOT Dell tech support.

Fake Caller ID - scammers. I told them I'd sue them if they called again and now they call every day, odd hours but no one on the line. Hard to block a number that is not the number. Dell has nothing to do with this and the number is a fake caller ID so blocking the number won't work and can't find their number. In this day of technology you'd think there would be a way to stop or block these kinds of calls. Since there is no loss of money or such involved no way to report it either. They are now even letting it ring three times and stop so no matter what I do they wake me up in the middle of the night. Frustrating. I'd think someone who could find a solution would make a ton of money fixing this. I've been getting these calls for over three years now!

What you say might or might not be true but the fact is, numbers get spoofed and legitimate companies are not immune to spoofing.  It is still safer to call Dell or whatever company directly and determine if you have warranties or subscriptions that are expiring.  It is not prudent to provide any kind of information or pay money to someone on the phone without verifying their identity.

This number is a scam and I know that they get your info directly from Dell support.  I bought a New old stock Dell from Walmart only to find it had a dead battery.  Called Dell for replacement battery only to have them say that they would not issue a new battery on a computer previously registered 8 years earlier and originally purchased 3000 mile from my location.  Returned immediately to Walmart.  Only place that new I bought a Dell was Walmart and Dell customer support and I doubt Walmart did not have computer serial number.  Dell support either sells info or same employees keep info and scam.  Funny how a Dell computer I owned for less than 24 hrs a year and a half ago and did not work is still sending virus issues.

You bought a new Dell and it was used?  Now I have to ask where did you find that number for Dell?  On their official website?  Packed with the computer?  Or did you do a search and called the first number that came up?  If it was the latter, you never actually talked to Dell.  Also, people have been getting these calls for years and a lot of them have never owned a Dell computer.  So in that instance where did they buy the information from?

I get these calls from them frequently. I have saved their phone number. One time they called I acted like I was very interested. I told them that my cell phone was about to die and to please call me back on my work phone number. They bit and so I  gave them the number for the FBI cyber crimes dept. The guy called back and left me a very angry sounding  message in a language I did not understand.

I have been receiving these calls on a weekly basis during regular business hours claiming to be Dell Concierge, claiming that they want to set up an appointment to fix my computer technical issues that "I had supposedly requested." They are relentless to the point of nauseaum....I do not answer the phone and therefore, there is usually an automated voice mail left on my answering machine. They usually call from  two different 1-877 numbers. I have reported them to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, DNCL (do not call list). Called 911 (which an investigator informed me that they were aware of this possible attempt at scamming from previous multiple complaints). I have tried to block the numbers...This has been going on relentlessly for over a year now... What seems to perplex me is that they haven't given up knowing that they never seem to get anywhere past my answering machine. Too bad they don't seem to be putting the effort to getting a real honest job instead. They need to really be investigated and taken seriously by the authorities and dealt with vigilantly, for the scumbag criminals that they are!

I had some what the same situation with them. They might be from dell, but when I called dell, and even Microsoft has people affiliated with them that are the ones who are doing this. Dell and Microsoft satated to me that they DO NOT solicite their customers. End of story. The Indian guy tried to tell me a comp was being hacked, he even stated a day and time,.... I told him that was impossible, and he ask "why". I told him that you can't hack a comp without having remote access to the computer, and the time period he stated I hadn't been using my computer for almost 90 days.Then knowing he was caught, he just simply hung-up!

877-790-3355 is not listed as a Dell's contact number.. callers are running a scam operation. bunch of camel jocks are phishing. report to FTC

I've been getting these calls lately too.  I usually answer and play some really annoying sound into the mic of my phone... they hang up pretty fast, lol.

Threaten to cut foreign aid to countries who offer safe haven to scumbags preying upon American citizens.Then watch their local police come down on these criminals.

This number shows as Dell Support on my Caller ID, but they're a scam trying to get access to your computer. Hang Up! Don't give them any information or do anything they ask - you will regret it!
