I really believe what Annie said. The calls are from Dell India. Why do I believe this? I had issues before about my laptop being slow. Then one day out of the blew someone calls and says they were calling from Dell and they said they would help me with the issues of being slow. This was 3 or 4 months after so I knew it was a scam. I have gotten several of these calls. Some of these people cuss at me when I tell them some laugh and some just hang up. I am having another issue right now. I got a call yesterday from 877-790-3355 saying they were calling from Dell. The number belongs to Dell Tech Concierge. I do not know exactly what that is. I told the guy he was scamming me. I had him on speaker at my lunch break with people sitting at my table. Right when the phone wrong I said y'all be quite I'm about to have fun with this call. Sure enough I told him he was a scam. He cussed me up and down and was blowing on the phone we all got a good laugh a very good laugh it was so funny we were all laughing and he was just cussing more and more and blowing on the phone. Maybe I am wrong and this is not Dell. But how do these scammers get my service tag and know the issue I have? One called today and never said anything. Then about 30 minutes later I got a call from the escalation team different numbers. How many numbers does dell have? I know they have centers all over. I think there are some bad techs maybe connected to these calls somehow maybe getting customers info and selling it or doing this on the side. Just call me an idiot I don't care this is just what I think.

They seem to be calling me once a day for the past 2 weeks. Mainly at the same time (after I have left work), but occasionally when I'm at lunch. It'd actually pretty weird that I seem to NOT be in the office when they call. Anyway, we have an automated phone service here, so they have to go through the menus to get to me. Anyway, always the same. No message left. Maybe someday I'll be here when they call and I guess I can mess with them a bit if it's a little slow. They certainly will NOT be getting access to my computer, though. The only reason they have my work number (I guess) is I had my personal PC sent to my work address.

Add me to the list.  I believed it was DellTechConcierge who I have had for many years.  They used this same number in November of last year when I had a real problem to fix.  I have the email from Dell listing this number as a valid contact number.    I lost a little money but not the worst cases I have heard of.  I am thankful for that.

Received the same call.  Dell does NOT call you.. It is an act of congress to get DELL on the phone at anytime.  Heaven forbid.. should anyone get a call from DELL.

I got a a call, they knew my name and that I had Dell hardware, and even the specific model of my windows tablet. They told me that important services were not running. Certain this was a scam but convincing nevertheless

I continue to receive calls from them. I didn't fall for it, but I did call Dell because they had a valid Dell Asset Tag # and knew all about my laptop and the problems it had, what Dell did to fix it, etc. What made me think it was an inside job like Annie has posted is they called me on my cell phone. I gave Dell my cell phone so the tech could reach me when he came to work on my laptop. I never give my cell phone out to anyone else. I always give my home phone number out to people. It's one of the reasons I've kept a home phone in the past. Why can't Dell stop this since it's an inside job?

These people are so stupid, I can't believe anyone would fall for their tricks. They call you and can't even talk fluent English when you answer them.

SCAM.   I had an involved legitimate Dell repair issue which involved both domestic and India Dell technical service.  A few months afterwards I began receiving a lot of these calls.  What I found the most jarringly sophisticated was actually when they started dumbing down the calls.  "We have detected your Wi-Fi is leaking".   I started to laugh and think they were really unsophisticated, then the guy said he would escalate my call to his supervisor.  Aha. He can hire idiots to make the first call, because he is sifting out the people who aren't going to fall for it.  He wants the juniors to pass him people who fall for "your wifi is leaking".

Two years ago the same scam was being run as "Microsoft Services".

I get a call from this number at least once every couple weeks. They claim my Dell has malware on it and they are receiving a signal from the computer. I then let them know we have an internal IT team at the office, sometimes I tell them I don't even have a Dell. SCAM!

They just don't give up! I talked to them at first and laughed when they tried to convince me they were Dell. Even when I'd tell them I had just talked to Dell customer service, they would still try to convince me they needed to take over my computer to fix it. I finally got sick of them calling and blocked the number. I've been getting blocked calls every day from that number for months.

The best thing you or anyone can do is to simply hang up once you hear someone calling out of the blue to fix your computer, as no one other than a scammer would do this. Block the number and tell everyone you know about the scam to help spread the word of this scam.

Received call supposedly from Dell. They had service number and other detailed information about my computer and said they were from the Dell fraud department. Gave me name phone number and extension. Since I recently had used Dell for a warranty software service issue, I was familiar with their procedure of taking control of your computer to solve the problem, and these people use the exact same software, with indistinguishable procedure – including the types of stilted courtesy one expects from overtraining the Dell service technicians in India. Very convincing. Took control of my computer, showed me log files with multiple problems, including "someone in Nairobi uploading video files from your computer." Then referred me to the official Dell website, identified a hardware firewall that would solve my problem, scheduled an appointment for a technician to come to my house the next morning, gave me the name and phone number of the technician, and told me that the technician would need to pick up the hardware in route to my house, and that I would need to pay for the hardware ahead of time.

Since my computer was "not secure," they told me not to pay via my computer nor using my credit cards, but rather to go to the local C VS and by nine $100 iTunes gift cards.

That is when I hung up and called the Dell. They told me that the service ID number I had been given have the wrong number of digits for a Dell case ID and the tech told me to immediately powerdown my computer. I did so, rebooted, and was faced with a password prompt that did not accept my Windows password, nor did appear to be a screen I ever had seen before.

I was able to reboot using alternate media, find a system restore point, then use a variety of malware and antivirus programs, including Windows defender off-line, to hopefully adequately clean my computer. All seems to be working well though I am not sure that all actually is well.
    Any suggestions?

Sorry – my notes are a scribble and I am a bit discombobulated – the call was so convincing – the call originated from 877-790-3355, and they asked me to call them with the iTunes gift card information at 888-616-8530.
