I got a call when a Dell technician was in my kitchen fixing a computer.  He said it's a scam but thought it was funny when I kept him on the phone pretending to allow him to fix my computer by "taking it over".  Yeah, right! I didn't just fall off a turnip truck.

I don't usually answer numbers I don't know, this number would keep calling me anyways. They never leave a message and I never call back. After visiting this site I don't think I ever will.

They keep calling me, too -- I had 4 voicemails (with no message) just yesterday from them and they called me back this morning. I am very angry about this. I told them to stop calling me but they kept insisting I give them my service tag number so I hung up on them. I've complained to Dell about them and I threatened them once to stop calling me or I'd report them. The calls stopped for awhile but now I keep getting the calls again. They're calling my home phone numerous times every day.

This is indeed a SCAM! if you are on this site hopefully you are checking it BEFORE you allow these scammers to gain access to your computer and your personal information!! I could hardly understand the person who called me as he had a very thick Indian accent.  He said he was from Dell, read to me my tag information and immediately he asked if I was near my computer and to type in a web address.  The address did not have Dell in it and was to a site that would allow him access to my computer that was to "fix" my " slow  computer" and to provide some "update" .  Oh and he said that this would be my last call ...  Really? I didn't even call to report a problem in the first place!  DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER, or grant them access to your computer!!!

No one responded when I answered the call yesterday.  However, every other month I receive a call from someone claiming to be calling on behalf of Dell. I KEEP TELLING them that I have no need for their services because I no longer have a dell computer. This has been going on for years.  They have called my home  from many different phone numbers.

You are better off not answering unknown callers. As you continue to engage them, they will continue to call.
Read the other posts, invest in a call blocking device and never engage.
    Be smart and stay safe

I got a call from them today, saying that my computer needed to be serviced under my warranty. I did hesitate, but then I asked them to verify the service tag which is what Dell would normally do. AND THEY VERIFIED IT!!! So I assumed it was legitimately them and let them in my computer. Well now I cannot get back into it and Dell will NOT help me! They called from a Dell phone, went through the Dell concierge on my computer and verified my Dell Service Tag!!!! So how was I supposed to know it was not Dell!?!?!?!?!?!?! I called the same # back and got Dell concierge and they said no one called me from there. How do I fix this!?!?!?

I am getting calls from this number, as well as 800-425-2067 - all claiming to be Dell. Do not be tricked. I dealt with them several months ago and they are starting to call again. They will know EVERYTHING about you, service tag number, e=mail address, name, etc. etc. It is a huge scam, hang up on them. I was not fooled, almost was, since they knew so much about me. May be coming from India, may be using info obtained by employees there and selling the info???? Always have an Indian accent. I got tired of it and proceeded to get very sexual with the person on the other line - their society can be rather conservative and this is VERY off putting to them for the most part. Was the lsats resort to get them to stop calling. It worked for about 4 months I guess.

"Courtesy" call from Dell. Technician knew my name and knew our business uses several Dell servers and workstations. Apparently Dell noticed that our "computers had stopped communicating with their monitoring servers". I said "this is a scam, right?" Tech said "oh no sir, this is Dell Tech Support calling from Dell, 1 Dell Way, Round Rock, Houston". Note he said "Houston". I said 'thanks for the notice' but I know this is a scam and hung up.

    Scammers Suck
I've been dealing with "Dell Tech Support" for over 6 months now. This is the first time they have called from this number. They change the number up every month and start calling again. They have a database of each person they call and seem to maintain details about each call as well. At one point I told them I don't have any PC's in the house, only Macs. The next time they called from the same number saying they were from Apple Tech Support. Just an FYI from experience. Don't play into them. Just hang up the phone. Block the number if you need to. Don't give them details or information. I've been trying to get them to stop calling. I've become rather good at screening their calls. When you see a random 800 number, answer, and say hello there is always a delay before someone in a terrible accent asks for you by name. At this point I ask what the call is in regards too. "Dell Tech Support!" I reply with, "You guys have been calling for him/her a lot. This is not their number. I got this number with my new phone." They will ask if you know their phone number. You can say no. If they ask for your name, give them a fake one, so if they call back and ask if your fake name is there, you know who is calling.

They are very good! I am very worried, as I let them help me on my computer a few months ago. I truly was looking for the real "DELL" online with google, and they had a website that looked legit. I preceded to let him help me, now I am worried that he has my information!!!
I received a call TODAY...after I told them not to call me again. They said, "Is this Tracy?" and then hung up?!?

I got to speak with "John Patrick" - at least that what he said his name was.  He spoke with a thick Indian accent and was clearly in a densely populated call center.  He game the same speech about malware & viruses on my computer are sending information to him at Dell to let him know that there's a problem.  He asked if I could "get next to" the computer and I explained that it would be difficult since it was up on a desk and I didn't feel comfortable climbing up there.  When I asked how many people fall for this scam he hung up.

Scam. India raided a few of these schemes. They'll ask you to goto a web site for diagnostic evaluation. Then they're in your system without limit full permissions

They're still at it.  Screened call on answering machine:  "Hello?   Hello?", then hung up.

Previous call from same number was a variation of the Dell Scam reported by others, that a Dell diagnostic program on my computer was not working properly.   I advised the caller that I would initiate a call to Dell if I was having problems.  At that point, the guy lost it, and began singing some Indian pop song.  How weird is *that*?
