They called me while I was at work, on my personal cell. They new that I had a laptop and gave me the service code off of it. I knew it wasn't legit but was freaked a little by the info they did have like my name, email, and home address. I told them I didn't have the computer in front of me and that I would have to call them back when I got home. I took the name "Chuck" down and the phone number to return the call and it was 888-448-5812. I googled both that number and this one that it came from and found my way here. I am thinking about calling them to mess with them but who has for that? I have used Dell for years and not once have they called me about something unless I had called first.

Yes! I absolutely just recently had a laptop sent back to Dell to get repaired. The calls started shortly after that. I am so irritated with these people!!

Why do these people keep calling me!  I have DO NOT DISTURB activated on my phone.  I have BLOCKED the number and reported it as SCAM or FRAUD many times!  There has to be someone out there who can make it stop! I never answer any number that I do not know.  This number somehow manages to bypass all the protection I have on my phone.  Fortunately, it does not ring, just appears in the log.  Annoying as all hell!

Received call from Dell Tech Concierge yesterday about security update not installing correctly & wanted access to my computer.  Told him I would call Dell Tech Concierge.  Immediately called Dell Tech Concierge after talking with this man.  The concierge asked if I gave him any information, I explained that I told the man I would call Dell Tech Concierge so a concierge can check  my computer.  I did not give the fake tech any information simply because Dell does not call people.  This is a scam.

Said were Dell Tech Support. Told me my warranty had expired and that my computer was offloading viruses... When I informed them I hadn't turned on my Dell laptop in 6 months, so I highly doubted that would be possible the guy on the phone didn't know what to do (besides ask me if I was sure my computer hadn't been used in that time...). Also, I've called actual Dell Tech Support before - it doesn't sound like a cafeteria in the background which is what this scam call sounded like.

These calls occur about once a week and began when I had a technical problem with my computer and spoke to Dell Tech support. The caller knows my name, service tag on my computer and other information. I'm aware enough to know that this isn't Dell calling, but I'm concerned that Dell is not doing enough to safeguard us. Obviously their tech people are passing our information on to unsavory people or our information is somehow being stolen after we make a call to legit Dell customer support. Either way, it's enough to make this my last Dell computer

The question is "Did you really talk to Dell?"  Since most people take the first phone number that comes up in a search, those numbers are the paid ads by scammers pretending to be Dell or Microsoft, or whatever other company you are looking for.

They called telling me there were several programs on my computer which were bad.   I told him I was having problems with the computer so I threw it in the river. He hung up on me.

I've been logging calls from this number since November, 2017.  The most recent was this morning (7/13/2018) at 7:59 AM.  I blocked the number some time ago, but they still keep trying!  To date, I've received 33 calls from what claims to be this number.  They seem to call in spurts - I'd get maybe several calls a month - then last May, in the first two weeks of the month, I got 13 calls, then it was quiet for a while, then toward the end of June the calls started picking up again, then quieted down, and they've picked up again these past two weeks.  I can't believe nothing can be done about this!   All my incoming calls go to my answering machine, and they never leave a message.

Well, this number is a valid number. My computer is a Dell product, and every six months or so, I get a refresher on my computer.  Usually, I call this number, and they call me back to see what my current problems are - like slowing down etc.

Same thing here: A man with an Indian accent, busy call center noise in the background, said he was a Dell technician, had my full name, email, my laptop model, said they've been sending me emails for the past 3 months about error messages being sent to their system. I said I was at work and couldn't get to my computer, he said his name was William Brown, and to call him back (and only him since he "cannot transfer to the case to anybody else") at 877-557-1981, x- 801266, 9am-7pm (EST).

As of 7/18/2018, I was up to call number 36 from this number, since November, 2017, when I started logging them.  Given this has been going on for years, and the number of calls I experience (even though I blocked the number, they're not giving up!) continues, sporadically and unabated, I am starting to suspect some degree of collusion between Dell and the "hackers," if not outright support from Dell, since it does profit them.  I don't know if people who subscribe to Dell's extended warranties get these calls or not, but it would be one way for Dell to either "punish" customers who chose not to subscribe, or make money off them anyway, repairing their computers after they're "hacked."  It makes me suspicious that this has been going on for so long, and Dell, who must have some of the best computers hackers on the planet, is unable to stop them.  Also, Dell does not forewarn customers of this potential danger, even though they are well aware of it, so they need to accept the responsibility of repairing the first "hack," at least, for free, for their LACK OF DISCLOSURE of this hazard when customers buy their machines.  I would like to hypothesize that Dell, if not outright running this scam, as least passively supports it, for the following reasons:  The scammers have "insider" information on Dell customers, from the simple fact that they know you own a Dell product, to serial number knowledge and service tag numbers.  Either Dell has, itself, been hacked to obtain this information, or they have a "leak" within their own organization they are failing to resolve, or they are in collusion with the "hackers."  Dell profits from their machines being compromised, and customers paying Dell to repair them.  They seem remarkably unconcerned that a whole "underground" organization has, basically, hijacked their tech service number, and routinely harasses their customers with unsolicited telephone calls.  I've decided the best way to avoid this in the future is to never again buy a Dell product, if they care so little about their customer's comfort to continue letting them be harassed by whoever is doing this.  I think Dell needs to be legally investigated to see if they have any share in this ongoing scam.
