She said my computer is got hacked and hackers are using my personal information. Dell network security is broken on my laptop, and she will help me how to protect my system. She wasn't confident when I asked what is Network security then she said once you turn on the laptop she will show me what she is talking about. You know how easy it is to set up a fake website. Did you start a Dell.com and find it from there?

Dell sells your information replies to George
I have gotten calls from people who say they are from Dell.  They know my name, my phone number, and my computer information, including reasons I have called dell support in the past.  THEY ARE NOT FROM DELL.   Dell employees are selling your information to scammers.  Do not let anyone on your computer no matter what the reason, unless YOU initiate the phone call to a number you have looked up and dialed yourself.  TRUST NOBODY!!

Dell sells your information replies to Laura
Laura, trust NOBODY.  Even if they have your information, don't let them on your computer.  When you have a problem with your computer, you won't need a phone call.  You will know you have a problem.  In that case, make sure that YOU initiate a phone call to a phone number YOU have looked up and determined to be real.  There is no such thing as, "I'm getting signals from your computer."  Not from Dell, not from HP, not from Microsoft.  Don't let anyone on your computer at any time if they call you.

Dell sells your information replies to Leslie
The problem is that Dell employees are selling your information.  That's why Dell should help you...but they won't.  If they don't care what their employees do with your information, your best bet is to stay away from Dell the next time you are up for a new computer.

I'm not a computer expert, but the first thing I'd do is reformat.  Twice.  Maybe three times.  I would be willing to lose all of my information rather than take a chance that the scammers stuff is still on my computer.  If you don't know what you're doing, bring it into a neighborhood techie and let them put it back together.  Good luck.

No.  It isn't.  But they did get your information from Dell.  Don't talk to anyone who calls you.  Trust nobody.

I reported this number to the FCC. Apparently these scammers got a hold of a legitimate Dell phone number and they are scamming using that number.  Don't believe them! I actually had them cussing me out on the phone because I told them I called the FCC.

We got rid of our POS Dell computer over 6 months ago and these Dell scammers still  keep calling, saying that something's wrong with your Dell.  What a scam.    If you give these Dell imposters access to your PC, it will have many more problems than ever before.

Caller hung up without any conversation.  I have received one other call from this number and realized I was speaking with someone other than a Dell Tech...I asked for a call back number and caller disconnected.

Just an FYI that has worked well for us in all calls such as Dell ( of which we have received many). My husband, a retired Engineer tells them right off that the call is being recorded and then will be turned over to local law enforcement. He then asks them if they understand, sometimes more than once is necessary.. In all but a couple cases, they hung up immediately. Those that decided to try and talk to him did not last long. I have done it myself and it works. We have not had a call in a long time. Give it a try.

For the last several years this and various other numbers have been harassing me non-stop. They claim they are from Dell and know most of my information, including my Dell service records. They call both my cell number and work number. I usually ignore them, sometimes I pick up and harass them and tell them never to call me because I know they are a scam. I even started to read some of the comments on this site. No matter what I say, they still harass me and it has been at least two years now - several times a month. Usually it sounds like the same guy calling to. Very annoying.

For everyone getting calls from this number, read this very carefully:
This is a scam call. There is nothing wrong with your computer. Your warranty is not expiring.
Just in case any of you are gullible, please read the following again, very slowly:

    THIS IS A SCAM CALL!
Now what to do about it. Unfortunately, these calls originate from India or Pakistan, and there is nothing the government can or will do. Stop posting "why doesn't anyone do anything?" If it were up to me, I would order a drone strike and kill all these scanners, but that is not going to happen. The do-not-call list cannot and will not help. Reporting these crooks to the FTC or FCC cannot and will help as they are outside of US jurisdiction.

So what can you do? Simple. Make yourself an undesirable target. Make is so they know your phone number is a waste of their time, and that they will move on to other prey. Here are some suggestions:

    *  Tell them your house caught on fire and that the computer was destroyed
    *  Tell them that you sold the computer months earlier
    *  Say to them "what Dell?" I have a Mac Book.
    *  Speak in a made up language:  Annacanasan! Meyna hoftig chineg. Due leggo low mo? Chow hin cee fout.
    *  When you notice this scammers number on the caller ID, answer the phone by saying "FBI Counter Terrorism Department, Special Agent Smith speaking"
    *  Pretend to be receptive. Let them go through their "pitch." When they are finished, explain to them you do not understand tech stuff and ask them to repeat what they said. Do this again and again to waste their time. For added fun, speak in a made up language now and then as listed above. Then pretend to follow along with their instructions, but do not actually do anything to the computer. Read the paper. Have some coffee. You goal is to keep them on the phone, like a fish that is almost caught. Ask questions, and the more technical, the better. Ask them if they know the difference between the ISO/IEC 14882:2014 and ISO/IEC 14882:2014 spec, or whatever baloney you can find online while you are pretending to go along with their scan. Eventually, they will be on to your ploy, and their reaction at this point is priceless!
    *  Be sure to report a summary of what you did on this website and others, for us to enjoy

Scam baiting can be a fun hobby. Document what you do for our amusement.

Here is what NOT to do:
    *  Write here "I did not recognize the number so I did not pick up," Guess what? No one cares, and you are wasting our time.
    *  Complain here about how you are on the do-not-call list. Guess what? WE ARE ALL ON THE LIST! And it does not work, get it?
    *  Demand that "something be done." The government will not do anything. They are busy killing terrorists and chasing really bad guys. They have no time for phone scammers and other assorted miscreants. From the government's perspective, you should be smart enough not to fall for these scams.

There is an old saying that a sucker is born every minute. All of you have been around long enough to know how scammers work. Be smart, and don't be duped. When a telemarketer calls me, I have no problem saying "go blank yourself." I am not polite. There is no need to be. And that is towards the honest telemarketers, so you can imaging how I treat the crooks and scammers. Don't be a victim. Be merciless and get even with this filth, and maybe, just maybe, you will make their business unprofitable.

Jack is wrong. Plain and simple.
If you answer unknown calls all you are doing is propagating more calls. In other words you WILL get more unwanted calls.

Jack is right about one thing...suckers. If you follow his suggestions you are a sucker. I don't know about Jack, but my time is much too valuable to answer more and more unwanted calls.
Do not answer unknown calls and do not call them back.
Consider getting a call blocking device/telephone (or app for your cell phone)-they're available online and start around $50 or so. https://800notes.com/nb/search?q=call+blockers

Not a smart idea, engaging the scammers. At the very least you'll get more calls. Or they could "swat" (look up swatting) you. They also could start using your number as a spoofed number when they scam call other people. Wouldn't that be fun? Keep in mind that many of them are most likely overseas, they feel they have nothing to loose. Can you say the same thing? Just do not answer unknown calls and do not call them back.
FYI...*67 does not work on toll free numbers like 800-they can see your number-so by calling them back you just verified your number for them.

If I could count the number of these I have ever received... well you get what I mean.
They don't quit. I tried ignoring for for about a year & then one day calls every 30 minutes & I answered telling them I donated it to chairty. Well, they're still calling
    Nothing works.
I believe all mean well just frustrated so be nice. We are all in the same boat.
