Mid-December 2016, I received yet another set of calls from 877-790-3355. This third set was from "John" with "Dell Support" and was from the same scammer number. The number 877-790-3355 is similar to the real 800-308-3355, which is the correct Dell number I usually call for support on my Venue 11 tablet. When dialed directly, the bogus 877-790-3355 recording answers "Dell Support".

This scammer group usually calls within one to three weeks after a legitimate call that I had initiated with Dell, If I had let a Dell support rep log onto my machine(s). The person calling in knew router information, machine names, and presumed to have just changed something that would have made my router stop working.

It would appear my private information is being sold or leaked to, or even "viewed" by, a whole group as there were a noisy bunch around the person and they, apparently, having the same sort of conversations as was my scammer.

Same thing, Dell Scam Center - said they were getting some kind of warning.  I know it is not the "real' Dell, I just tell them I will call Dell myself that I have an agent / tech I know by name and that is who I work with.

Just got a call from an Indian guy(using poor English) claiming to be from Dell Computers. Tried to ask me if I had downloaded any services from pop-ups on my computer. I pretended to be confused and then told him that the laptop hadn't been used in months as it had been thrown out in the trash. He then said "Oh, ok, I will mark that in our records." We all know that companies will not call you to ask you questions like that! After the initial sale and warranty period, they do not care what you do with their products!!!   I ended up hanging up on him.

It claims to be Dell support But I have talked to Dell and they said they are not their people. The guy became very rude and began talking about about having sex with my wife

Dell support scam. They do have my tag number. So I think he got my info from another person that works for dell. Or he does it as a side job.

Same thing happened to me.  Can we discuss this?

**SCAM caller*** Same Dell BS. I said I couldn't get to my computer right now and asked for a number I could call back when I was able to get to it. Male caller immediately hung up. ***SCAM caller***

I receive a call from them multiple times a week, sometimes several times in the same day.  It is crazy how persistent they are.  I haven't had a Dell computer in years, yet they are unrelenting in insiting that I do, and it havin all sorts of trouble. I have evendors blocked their number, only to have them start calling me from another number.

i had six missed calls from this number at my employer which is a university since Monday. i answered one today. the caller said he was from dell. i immediately hung up and contacted IT. IT contacted Dell. this is the response." It is a legitimate Dell number offering some type of concierge support.  Without knowing who actually called I wouldn’t know who to contact to make it stop.  The best thing to do is request the support persons name and say we’re not interested and to not call back..."

Exactly! I didn't think it was real but alarmed that they knew my computer model, name and number. Yikes! How do I get them to stop?

That is just crazy.

Update. Got another call from same number today. No way this is legitimate. I spoke to him this time. He says that Dell has received constant notifications about services that have stopped working on our Inspiron 3454 laptop purchased in January 2015. According to the caller, the laptop is out of warranty as of January 6, 2017.He stated that services like Gateway and application experiences have stopped. There is a laptop in the office that was purchased recently but it had not been turned on since early December. That is when I knew it was a bad call.
When I asked for his name again and what I needed to do, he disconnected the call.I checked after he disconnected the call. There is no Dell Inspiron in the office at all nor had there been any Dell purchases in January. Dell doesn't seem to know that this is happening.

These [***] call 3 times every day. Only once have I been able to hear anyone on the line, they claim to be with DELL. I told them I do NOT own a DELL PC and he continues to try and get me to allow him remote access to my PC. I told him to go to hell and not call back. They still call every day.  These scammers need to be fined or jailed for harassment.

Same scam.  They knew my name, tag number etc.  Told me he was in Texas.  I spend half of my time in TX, so I asked him if he went to the India Bazaar, a chain for people from India in TX, kind of like H-Mart but not as clean..not at all.  He had no idea of what I was talking about.  He started talking about Paypal and I told him I never used it.  He was able to tell me the credit card I used, and I started getting calls from Paypal asking me for my "telephone code".  I called Paypal to look into it.  Long story short, Paypal doesn't call you, if they send you email, it's service@paypal.  I've been getting a lot of email from Paypal lately and figured it was bogus.  I was right.

Didn't leave a message.  Blocked number based on what I read here.  This same SCAM calls on many different numbers.

They have been calling me for about a year or more now, call every month or so and I refuse to pick up. This is a total scam, caller claims to be from Dell and my first call from them was VERY convincing since they knew all my contact information, even my last Dell Ticket Number from a previous repair. Sounds as if they have inside information directly from Dell. I refused to give any information during the call, even though it sounded so convincing. I informed them that I would call Dell directly, utilizing the numbers found on their official web site, to confirm all they are saying. Dell has even put out a warning regarding these calls, they WILL NOT call you in regards to what they are trying to do.

I received at least three of these calls a week for quite a while.  I contacted Dell and they had me fill out an online form, but that was over a year ago and nothing has changed.  I just went in and blocked the number.  That will probably work for about a week then they will use a different number.

I keep getting this call as well.  I try to call the number back and it appears to take me to Dell, though only option 1 works.   Which is why this appears to be using an internal number.  They keep asking for my daughter.   I actually got through to someone but I can't tell if it's valid or not. I just asked them to put me on their do not call list.  Will see what happens.
