Same thing have happened with my wifes credit card this month. Some jerks have called her, she refused to use their services, however they offered her just to send her some papers so that she can have a look and then if she is happy to proceed further. Of course you can guess what have happened with the papers after she have found out that the service was not free but 60-70$. Today I have discovered, that 79$ have been taken from our credit card, and the problem is, that we did not gave any account information nor bank details, so how the f*** they have got this info?

Is it the banks that are providing the information of their clients or???
Anytime that someone calls us, I am asking where from they got our info and there is a bit of a silence on the other side or some silly words like: we are partners with one of the banking companies that you have account with. If we have insisted more, the line was dropping.

We must do something against this company, as this is getting more and more "victims" of their Do-Nothing-But-Get-Paid services. 80$ for a year and in the statement it say: Credit Card renewal nevertheless that our accounts are free of all the maintenance charges.

Tomorrow I am going to speak with my bank agent and with the Bank Fraud depot, so to take some legal actions against these m.f---rs.

Do not be affraight to call and insist on money refund. If they do not wish to cooperate, they are in a seriously committed crime against the bank policies and the personal information (Human rights act). Lets smash the cocroaches together...

They also charged me since 2002, but I might remember they charged me was because I signed up the services ( I still not sure what kind of services they provide)with HBC credit card.  Since I was HSB client at that time they sent a lot of mail and phone call. however I closed these services and HBC CARD  years ago. They still charge me !! I will close my account. reject their bill!!!!

Silly? It'a ALWAYS silly to give your credit card number out without being absolutely certain you know and trust who you're dealing with!

If they BILLED the card in the first place - they already have the number. The most you should need to give them is your name and city for them to idenify you in their records.

I just got this charge ($62.95) this month - I'm extrememly pissed off about it! The reason I think it's a ripp off, is that I don't carry a balance and the way this is supposed to work, is that you only pay when you have a balance. I USED to carry one until quite recently, but no longer - yet I start geting charged now?!? This is unethical and the CC company will be getting a piece of my mind re the personal information 'selling'. You can bet they didn't just give it away!

    Happened to me too
This happened to me as well, but it was very easy to fix. I called them and told them I don't want the service and they removed the charge no questions asked. It was a pain to have to call, but it's easy to get removed. I am sure they rely on the fact that a lot of people either don't track their spending or are too shy to call.

never had a phone call per se but did have an unauthorized charge on my visa cibc of 62.95.  upon calling cibc they gave a number to call (1-800-456-4042) at Card Registry Service. I had indeed subscribed to this service 3 years ago and their practice appears to be one of auto-renewel, reverse billing --call it what you may. Anyway I depise this method of billing and firmly informed the sevice to cancel it and make amends on my visa account to which they agreed. This reminds me of my battle with Reader's Digest to cancel their magazine subscription -- they use reverse billing also! Hope this was helpful.

I had the same experience as well. Charged 62.95 a couple of days ago and made the call for them to cancel and refund the charge. After a bit of a struggle they agreed. I'll be waiting to see the transaction occur in the next few days. Keep you all posted.

This is a card registry service you would have set up, to protect you in case soemthing happens to you, they pay all the balances on all your credit cards. You would have done this probably 3 years ago, they charge this every 3 years.  All you have to do is call them & tell them you want to cancel this service.

I just called and cancelled. Not until after the guy took five minutes of trying to convince me to keep the service. Their service makes no sense! It doesn't seem to provide anything that is worth that much!!

Just called, fuxxed the guy and got my money back ( only the money for this year) , but the guy said i have had this thing since 03,  but i still dont know how they got my bank info, i changed my visa 3 times in the past 3 years, unless the bank has something to do with this too? and the guy was pretty rude, i told him i wanted to cancelled it and got my money back, he refused to give me back my money, so i told him i'll post his name and this company/number online, telling how they take money from ppl's visa accout without permission, he told me if "there's something, u should be responsible for ur action", i told him i fully understand my rite and i'll be responsible for my action, so he cancelled it and did the refund. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a negative option billing scheme... they charge your credit card and hope you don't notice.  It is a rip off.  You have to call and remove yourself from the service.  It took me a half hour on the phone to dispute charge...

I called today to cancel the charge which they told me I applied 13 years ago which I have no knowlegde of doing.  Going back to the Bank I heard that it was written in ink when I first applied for the VISA 13 years ago.  These people never had the correct address and they claim to have sent these assist packages every year.  What a joke.  They cannot even track the customer base.  How do you expect to rely on a service which a customer has no knowledge of applying for.  everyone who thinks they are getting scammed, call the direct line that is on the VISA statements and ask to get the service cancelled TODAY.  When you ask to cancel you may be asked to call on the expiry date 1 year from now but insist that you want to cancel today.  Such a hastle.
