i just got off the phone with Visa.  this is a program that the client must enroll in.  it is a service that will phone all ur credit card, OHIP, passport to cancel and re issue in the event that this information is stolen...

They did the same stupid things to me and charged from my CIBC credit card without my permission. I called this 888-454-6364 and ask for refund. An Agent named Nice with agent # 6189 processed my case and told me the fee charged will be refunded to my account within 10-20 business days.  I will see if it will come true.

Also, they told me I registered this service 3 years ago. But in my strong mind, I have never did  a thing like this. It seemed that this company have done such things - charge money without permission  on a mumber of people. That is quiet a crazy thing and I won't like to see it happen any more.

Please tell everyone who you know about this so people will know to watch out their money and protect themselves more.

Hi All , I just got the same issue , we are on  26 march 2011 , on 9 o clock...
I called my mastercard and filled a reclamation , and asked my bank not to issue any payement to this company , because i never accepted any service like this ,  also , I never received any contract about this service , so , guys , this is a fraud !!! and I will fill a reclamation to the AMF... now this is very important , every body should do that.

I'm so upset!  I was chared $33.89.  I've never heard of this company and did not get authorization.  I phoned Visa and they were no help at all.  They did try calling the number for me but they were closed (how convenient).  This is a complete hassle.  I feel like cancelling my Visa and even changing banks.

That's "give" authorization.

Just charged me $68.30, they said I was a member 3 years ago.
They don't even have my credit card expiration date, just the number.
Asked all kind of personal information to confirm identity.

I was charged $79.09 on Royal Bank Visa on May 3rd, 2011 by Card Registry 888.454.6364. Never heard of them before.

Just got a charge of $62.95 on my CIBC Visa from this same place. I always say no when CIBC calls to offer card protection, so I was sketched out rightfully so. I called CIBC Visa and told them of this charge, and they transferred my call directly over to Card Assist.

Basically the handful of people that came on this forum may not get ripped off, but think of how many people don't check or notice. Potentially millions in illegal revenue...

When I called them to request a refund they told me I'd been covered since 1999! They had no up to date information on me at all and said that since I had switched card types (RBC Reward to Avion etc...) that that was why I was only seeing this now. The lady gave me a few pitches that I declined. They cancelled the service but said that since I'd switched card types, the refund would take 20 business days to show up! Now I need to call RBC VISA and get them to not charge me interest since there's no way I'm paying this charge. Oh yeah, apparently they don't send out any confirmation letters, either by mail or e-mail. Nice way to cover themselves for when my refund gets "lost".

Just spotted this charge on my VISA, am currently on the phone with these scam artists.  Trying to claim I was a member since 2007, well funny story, I've changed my card number 3 times in that period.  In fact, the last time I changed it, I did not contact anyone (ie:paypal, any bill services) to inform them of it as I wanted to change how I run my finances.  Yet mysteriously, this charge appeared on my bill. I NEVER sign up for additional protection services, as VISA auto covers any fraudulent activity.  They've told me they cancelled my account and will be processing a refund, but when I asked for a confirmation number for that refund, I was fed a line saying it could take up to 30 days to process!  The supervisors were exceptionally unhelpful, saying there was nothing they could do to expediate the process.

I tried to call the number: 1-888-454-6363 to cancel this annual billing, and when I phoned a message came up saying that the number is not available in my area..!!!!!??

When you open any account with any bank, credit union, insurance company, etc., specifically tell them you don' t want your personal info and anything to do with the account to be given to 3rd parties.

I too and fighting a losing battle with the same thing. I firmly said no, but it showed up on my card anyway. I called HBC credit services and told them to take this off my card. They told me I need prove of cancellation! I said, did you get proof from the insurance people that I accepted this service?
I am so sick of this problem. And Zellers needs to own up to scamming people.

please I would like you to send me a confirmation on my money refund on my credit card because I had never, I mind never accept to be charge 80 dollars for any services with you company. if you refuse to cooperate, and if it happen again against my will, i will report yous action to a serious commited crime against you. I just found my August 24, 2011 MBO MC statement, there is one charge $45.19 from CRDREGISTRY 8884546364 MISSISSAUGA ON. I can remeber every purchase I made, but this company charged from my credit without my authorization. I rembered I never received any call from them or signed any agreement with them. They just stole your money from your credit card, they try to take chance you will not get refund after 30days if you did not notice. Beware when you use your credit credit, I think someone sell the credit card information to their company. I will call them again, if they would refund to me, I will take the legal act to against them. I check the web information abount the charge, they had keep doing this for years. Why they can survive so long?

I got a charge direct from my bank account for 79 bucks. I never signed up for this service. Called them and they have no record. I'm super annoyed. They told me to fax my statement to their finance dept.   Talk about a pain in the ass!!!!!

Got the same charge for something I never subscribed to. Make sure you mention your intentions (true or not) of closing your account with the financial institution you are having problems with.... Their collaboration is way more efficient that way. Got a promise of charge reversal and after calling the provided number, apparently got unsubscribed from that useless "service". Make sure to insist on deleting your file completely from their system, and dont give them ANY personal information!

HBC doesn't even own its credit cards...it's Capital One. and HBC Mastercard holders are not the only ones affected.  My charge was on a VISA card.

I just found a charge for $79.00 for card services, when you phone the number there is a pushtone option specifically to 'enquire about a charge appearing on your credit card'... this is nothing more than a fraud and I'll be roasting their nuts when they open a 9:00 AM

Just noticed a charge for $33.89 from my bank account from CARDREG...they told me I've had this service for many years...I never noticed this annual charge...to cancel, it was almost impossible!!!  I asked them to cancel this service and refund my account for $33.89.  We will see...
