My name is never mentioned, and they don't say any of my personal information that a real debt collector would know.

A real debt collector would not be legally allowed to leave that information on voicemail or an answering machine, nor would they be legally allowed to talk to anyone but the debtor unless the debtor gave them permission.

I doubt that this is a debt collection call at all based on what you say is the company name.

Returned a call stating from a debt collector. Asked for my phone number to figure out who I was. Stated I had got a malicious loan in another state last year and it was written on a Wachovia bank account. Explained to James that I wasn't in that state at that time, that I wasn't employed so I couldn't have even received a Check n Go loan, and that I have never in my life had a Wachovia bank account. He kept saying that I needed to quit playing games and pay my bills.

This number called my boss and left a message on his line saying that I needed to call them about a personal matter. My boss was all concerned and called me. I googled the number and found all the complaints. I told him I had no idea who they were or what they were trying to collect on. Was embarassing to say the least.

"Adam from Structured Settlement" left me a voicemail in reference to an account in their office. Adam wants me to call the number and he can give me "more detail" about the "debt" that I owe. Not returning the call....sounds suspicious

I just got the same phone call on my work voicemail.  I have no clue as to who they are and what it is for.  They did not leave a reference # nor my name.  Now I have had a debt collection before and this Mrs. Rogers didn't do any of the procedures that I have had in the past.  I never authorized nothing to come out of my checking account.  I will see if she or that company "Structured Settlement" will call me back.  How they got my work # - I couldn't tell you.

Called using a semi-local number as a mask (269-210-7905), said “still trying to get in touch to verify info regarding an automatic withdrawal in your checking account” wanted to ensure I authorized it, yet said it was an attempt to collect a debt. I have no debts, definitely a phishing scam.

The message was left after a hyper aggressive restricted number cold called me about an old debt, DO. NOT. TALK. TO. THESE. PEOPLE. First they use scare tactics to try and force an immediate payment, dont do it. Second even if you express interest in paying they will berate you and try to throw you off by threatening legal action. THEY CANNOT LEGALLY SUE YOU OR GARNISH YOUR WAGES WITHOUT PROOF OF THE DEBT. Third, DO. NOT. CALL. THEM. BACK. They will tell you that you cannot go to the original debtor, that is illegal, you can ALWAYS go back to the original debtor and make payments with them, companies live money, no company will say no to a payment. NEVER deal with 3rd party collectors.

voicemail left by “James” talking about a check bouncing for a structured settlement.  this is fraud.  i called the number he left in the voicemail.  they knew my full name without asking me for any confirmation of identity.  i asked why he was calling me and he said i already talked to [my name] today. I said "no you didn't, I know for a fact you and I have never talked before so why are you calling me and who do you represent?" He said, "you need to get your tone right." then hung up the phone.

Same kinds of calls from John King at Structured Settlements. Had some information and stated that they had been trying to reach me via phone and e-mail. I have no e-mails from them. I asked them to stop calling my employer number as it was a violation of my company's policy, but he keeps calling. Spoke with him once and told him I could lose my job and he stated they were allowed to contact my employer. but that is not correct unless they have a judgement for garnishment.
