They been calling my number several times a day but I haven't been answering and they don't leave a message!

called 8 times today no messages. Once I answered and asked for my son who doesn't live here full time and they had trouble pronouncing the name. I asked who was calling and they hung up on me and started calling again.

Work at a law firm, but as soon as the receptionist answer with the name of the law firm they hang up.  Called the number, they say that they are calling for Allied collections out of Columbus, OH, but the callers are actually physically located in the phillipines.  If they are calling to collect, they should be able to provide name, credit card number, file number etc.

They call me every hour on the hour. Dumb A**es, I don't answer and they don't leave any messages.

This number shows up multiple times a day on my caller ID.

They claim to be calling for my daughter but they refuse to leave a message. They call on my work number and it's a real nuisance. They call several times a day.

Just got a new trac phone and it rings 4-6 times a day with the number 888-748-4956. At first I answered it and always a recording to stay on the line.I never did. Now I just let it ring. I have never had anything to do with Capitol One and I have never let any bills go unpaid! I have regestered my phone with the Do Not Call list but still rings.

I called the # back and asked them to take me off the list - I asked if I was another person - told them I was not and have never heard of her - they "said" they would take me off the call list....

Getting numerous calls from this number, they hang up once I pickup.  So, I finally called it and talked to a "JEffrey" who was foreign and said they are looking for Laura Gray, which is not me or anyone in my family.  I told them to take the number out of their system

Awaken at 7:07 AM February 14,2010 by a caller from 1-888-748-4956. Our CI showed Toll Free. I blocked the number from future calls, than checked it out. I called the number and a male with an accent answered (Allied Interstate). I ask him if he was from a collection company, and he stated YES, and continued to ask me if he could help me. My reply was, I will report this number to the Do Not Call Registry. End of conversation.

How is it they have my number but can't pair up an account or card number with it? Seems like they would know this

I have received dozens of calls from capital one 888-748-4956 and have never had a capital one credit card in  my life.  I don't have any credit cards period!

called said they were from capitol one wanted to know account  number would no tell them said i owed 9,000.00 an they were from a collection agency.  i gave no information hung up and called capitol one who i do not have an account with and told them about it ands they suggested i file a report with the www1.ifccfbi.gov which i did

This is crazy! The calls are non-stop & when you do speak to someone the English language is not their first nor are they able to be well understood. I could use a job, why do we have people in foreign countries getting paid to harass Americans? I was let go from my job & was unable to make one payment -- first time ever in the long history w/the credit card company & for a low balance. They are vicious & unrelentless. ONCE THE CARD IS PAID OFF I WILL GO BACK TO CASH ONLY. No More Big Banks Making Big Bucks off the American public.

Received 10 calls from this number just today, will probably get more.  Have my machine pick up in two rings.  There's never a message.  It's more likely whay other people have said it's a SCAM of some sort.

Beware.....

they have my 1st and last name right but wrong middle initial and wrong address and they say they are collecting debt from capital one master card. i told them they had the wrong number. they have called at least 10 times today. i called capital one and they said it was fraud

These calls have been coming every hour on the hour all day.  I want them to stop!

Like so many others, I also received numerous phone calls. The last call, I answered, and they hung up immediately.  I called the number.  They answered Capital One.  After indicating, I've been receiving these numerous phone calls, they wanted to know if I had a Capital One acct, I indicated no.  Then they wanted to know if I knew someone last name Rodriguez.  Said no.  They're response, oh we'll take your number off list.  The whole conversation on their end was bogus.   I dont' know what they're really after, but becareful, it's obviously a scam.

This number calls my cell phone non-stop and never leaves a message.

I have had 27 call so far today. It is only 1 pm, so lets see how many more I get.
