I first received a call on my cell phone a month ago.  The lady asked me if she could speak to my husband (first name only).  Suspicious, since it's my cell phone, not his.  I told her he was unavailable.  She got excited and wanted to know when she could talk to him.  I said I had no idea.  After I hung up, I have received 2 - 4 calls per day.  I put my ringer to silent for this phone number.  I also put our home phone and both our cell phones on the Do Not Call Registry.  Two days ago, I found myself in the emergency room in a bad situation.  They rang my cell phone 16 times.  The kicker is - not only do we NOT and NEVER have had a Capital One Credit Card Account, but we do not have any credit cards, nor are we in any debt.

Answered the call and a lady from another country wanted to know if someone who does not live in my home was there.  I told her no and she wanted to know why my phone number was connected with this person and that she was with Allied International collection agency.  I told her that I could not help her and to stop calling this number she said that they would.  I then dialed this number my self and the first time recieved a personal voicemail.  The second time I tried I got some woman out of bed and she said that I had the wrong number.

On another site similiar to this one Capital One called to complain about the calls.

I've gotten over 600 calls for this number. They don't STOP! I've told them several times that they need to stop calling me. I have a Capitol One Account but I pay it on time and more then the minimum each month.

I don't know how to make them STOP!

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only person that has been receiving these calls, they have called me atleast 9 times in the last 2 days and they never leave a message. When I answer the phone know one is there. What can I do to block them from calling my cell phone??

It is 10:55 am and I have already received 6 calls from 888-748-4956. I've registered my cell on the national do not call list. I hope the phone calls STOP soon!

Why won't my phone stop ringing???? Arrrghhhhh.

I've been receiving calls from this number several times yesterday and today and the display reads "telemarketing". Telemarketers are not allowed to operate on Sunday's and we are on a do not call list. So my guess is this is a scam. They do not leave a message.

I have gotten several calls from this number EVERY DAY for probably a month now - ever since I got a new cell phone (same #, new phone).  I have never answered it, and they never leave a message.  I DO have a Capital One account, but I have never missed a payment, I have never paid late, and always pay more than the minimum amount due, so there's no reason for me to receive a collections call.

Some days this company call 15-20 timea a day.Wake up my 92 year old mother.

We have been continually called from the above number. When answered or met with an answering machine, there is no one there. We tried turning off our answering machine for a few weeks to get the calls to subside, but the increased to once an hour every hour from 8am to 9pm. It seems this number belongs to Capital One. We do not owe this company any money, so we do not know why we began to get these calls and continue to be harrassed. We are getting to the end of our rope!

This place has been calling our home... several times... last night decided to answer this call... asked for Michele.. i told them they've got the wrong number.  she apologized....okay.. then they call again today speaking tome and saying michelle... i was like" you called last night and i told you there was no one by that name residing here.. she told me it was Capital one and wanted to know how long i had this number... I say to her it really isn't any of your business how long i've had the number... do not call here again or i will report you... she was all apologetic and said it will take 72 hours... i replied that's not good enough... i will report you...

This company keeps calling my line, including 4 times today (Sunday) and during the week as late as 11 p.m.  I never answer 888 or 800 calls.

I have been receiving calls from this company for a couple weeks now. I am in the process of filing bankcuptcy and I advised them of this and gave them my attorney information. They called me 6 times on Friday 3/12/10, when I answered the call I told them that I had an atty and they needed to contact him. The representative then advised me that they have the atty information in there file from when I had given it to them previously. I told them that they can no longer contact me. They called again 4 times on the 13th and I again advised they need to contact my atty. After the 9th call on sunday the 14th I told them that if they continue to call me I will contact my atty and file harrassment charges on them. I gave them my atty info again even thought I knew they already had it. Today is Monday the 15th and they have already tried to call me 3 times. It is only 10am.
