The only way I got them to stop calling me is to turn off my answering machine.  if you just let it ring and ring for a week they will stop calling.  But as soon as you enter your phone number onto the internet for any reason they start calling again.  It sucks!

These jerks keep calling and calling for a "Roz"--I DON"T KNOW THIS WOMAN?????? We have had this number for 29 years, and I have no idea HOW they got this number--I have never known any Roz's in my life!!! I tell them this (while I am usually trying to calm my baby down that they just woke up) but it doesn't matter--there should be a way to get them to legally STOP calling once you tell them to!!!!!!

I received a call from this number a little before 8pm. I picked up and they immediately hung up. I immediately called them back and as soon as the call went through they asked for my Capital One info. I told them my Capital One account was paid on time and hung up. My live in BF is behind on his payments but they never asked for him when I called back. I told them that I received a call from the number. They did not do a number search but instead asked for my information.

I then called Capital One customer service. I was told that Capital One is NOT affiliated with that number.

they call my number at least 20-30 times a day, 7 days a week.  Something needs to be done about this.  I can't just keep my answering machine off in case my family needs me in an emergency when i am not home because they will leave a message.  If I keep my machine on, this company uses up all my time on my machine. The number on the ID is 888-748-4956 and is Unavailable.

For the last two days I have Received calls from this number at about 8:00
PM. when I answer there is nobody on the line. I see I am not the only one fedup with them.

I had my new phone installed by Verizon for 10 minutes and got a call from this number asking for Richard.  Told the woman that this was a new number for me, just had it activated, and she told me she would remove the number from their call list.  That remains to be seen.

  come on man.  This is a scam!  But you are correct, if you have a debt, you should make it a priority to pay it off.  It is not good to be indebted to others, but that's the way our economy works.  I feel for those who are indebted and are having trouble paying.  

BUT..everyone has a different situation.  Many have lost jobs and are just trying to feed their families before paying credit cards.  My advice to them is to call the CC company and try to work out a do able payment plan.  They will work with you and not report you to the credit companies.

Calls everyday 9 or 10 times a day.

My phone rang at 8:15am and it was an 888 number and an unknown caller. I called the number back and the person asked me for my 16 digit Capitol One acct number. I told him I didnt understand why they were calling, I havent had a CO card for over a year. He hung up on me. I called back again and a different person answered and I told her the same thing I told the other person and I want my number removed from their list. She asked me for my number and I told her she can get my number off their list, becasue they are an 800 number they can automaticly read your number. I told her I was going to report them for harrassing me.

I don't have a Capital One credit card why are these guys calling me?

Indian person asking for person who does not live here, calling repeatedly & even calling others on 3 way so the phone rings when I pick up.

They called up here at 8:20 on a Sunday morning, lovely. Called back again later too. So I answered and some heavily accented woman asked for someone who doesn't even live here and said they were calling about a "personal financial matter."

So glad they have no problem waking up people on a Sunday morning that don't even have credit problems with them.

THIS NUMBER CALLS ALL DAY LONG. NEVER LEAVES A MESSAGE AND IF I ANSWER NO ONE IS THERE SO I CALLED THEM BACK AND IT'S A COMPANY CALLED CAPITAL ONE LOOKING FOR SOME ONE I DO NOT KNOW.

The have called me 10 times in the last 3 days so far. Claiming to be from Capital One the ask for your info and I tell them they should have that info already. They won't stop calling.

After two minutes of discussion along with periods of silence the person on the phone "Gail" questioned why I wanted the company address and phone number and that she was not authorized to release that information. Upon further questioning for the address and phone number there were long periods of silence while Gail "claimed" to be searching for the company address. I asked her if she knew the address of the company she worked for; she did not respond. I then told her that I would audibly count to ten and then hang up;which I did.

they called me 10 times today....  AND IT'S SUNDAY!!!!!!!   the first call was at  719 AM ...  no messages or nothing.. i called them back and it was a recording that said.. its after business hours call back..  UGH

I don't know if this number is a scam or not, but I had been receiving calls from Allied Interstate and they said they were a Capitol One collections agency. They were looking for someone who I've never even heard about and I had told them to stop calling me a few times. Today I got a call from them at 8am and when I answered they hung up. I called them back and actually got a person and when they asked me for my Capitol One card information I told them I didn't have a Capitol One card and I wanted my number to be removed from their call list because I had no clue who this person they were trying to contact was. I didn't give them any information about me, not even my name. Then person said "Sorry for the inconvenience and the number will be removed from the list between 24 to 48 hours." Hopefully this is true and maybe doing this will help some of you that are going through the same thing because I know that their calls can be quite annoying, especially when you really don't owe them any money.

This number and some other 800 and 888 numbers call my cellphone several times a day for the past couple months. I never answered once. They still call. Thanks for all the comments on these scam artists, now I know how to handle them... I am going to make it VERY uncomfortable to keep calling me. THANKS!
