Same here. Said I should have signed for them at my job. I work at a prison and told him if they can get past the gates, I’ll sign anything they need me too. He hung up.

Yes apparently these guys aren’t the smartest. The guy got very ugly lol. I’ve never been talked to like that by a business, he got angry when I told him I knew he was fake. Smh...

I got a call from  J Smith Associates- aka Johnson Smith and Associates and I have heard J D Smith and Associates too.
They called to collect on a credit card I have never owned.  He got quite irate with me when I said he had to send me something in writing before I would even acknowledge the debt and that I did not own that card from that company for that time period. He was trying to collect over $3300 dollars!
I know it is not legit. I did not own that card at that time.  He would not send anything to me.  He just kept saying that they would do that Tuesday but wanted to give me a chance to clear it up today. Scam!

I know how my response would go ....
"Not so dear Johnson Smith, please find attached my fourteen page civil complaint for your many FDCPA violations this year. I thought to give you a chance to clear it up today, before I file this in my Federal court. Below is how your general counsel should spell my name on your settlement check."

I got the same ole song and dance from these low lifes. They have used 2 different numbers and emailed from a bogus lawyer website. They address is a P.O. box at a ups store.  Its kinda amazeing that these people are still up and running and havent been taken down.

I just got the same call from an unknown number.They left a voicemail saying the same thing. I will not be calling them back.

Johnson Smith and associates... legal doccuments to be delivered on Dec. 1, 2017 Caller was Martin. Also called today and left same message.

I got several calls wanting to confirm the address for delivery of legal papers too. I had no idea what it could be and they continued to call. I blocked the number. Today i get the same call about calling by a certain date. I called. They are saying i am being sued for breach of a contract to pay off a car i bought in 2002. I supposedly paid on the car from my account for several years and defaulted on just under $800. The debt was sent to a collection agency. Supposedly this debt was charged off in 2014. Funny thing though-in 2010/2011, i had the lexington law group helping me rebuild my credit and this debt never showed and still has not shown to this date. I was told to expect to be served with papers to go to court. They refused to "resend" paperwork they claimed has already been mailed that were never received. I never purchased a car in 2002. I didn't even have a checking or savings acct back then to make payments from! When i threatened to call the attorney general, the guy hung up on me. I did not like how much information he had about me. I did, however, refuse to verify the last 4 of my social when he asked.

We like to have them delivered on Friday. I need to confirm that someone will be available to sign for them upon delivery. I have to reset the list that I say Priscilla. Nothing about this outfit is "legitimate".  It isn't about car insurance.  This is a criminal organization pretending to be a debt collector.  "Fernando" is just one of the many shills they have sent here trying to make themselves look legitimate and not the common criminals that they are.  I posted a lot of information on them on page 3.  They are not registered in any state and are not registered as debt collectors so they are obviously operating illegally.

I just received the same call from a ( unknown caller) I let it go to VM then looked it up. Glad to know it’s a scam!!

I received a call from Johnson Snith last night Jan8,2018 and they left a voicemail on my phone and my husband's and when I called the number left on my phone guy was saying they needed to deliver legal documents that were in thief department for a debt from 2004 from supposedly a credit card  and that is was for 648 dollars but they were going to file papers so it would be 2028 dollars or something. Anyhow wanted to know if there would be someone to sign for the papers. Anyhow then the more I takes to him than he wanted to know if I would want to settle out of court. Gave me number to his direct line to call him back 978-961-0946.  The number they called from  was an unknown number on my phone and my husbands.  Glad I googled this and seen all of the same things from other people.

You understand, then, that this is a scam, right? Real process servers don't call in advance and they don't give you the option to pay your way out of being served. Block and ignore such calls.

I received the same type VM this after noon from Kevin of Johnson Smith and associates needing someone over 18 to receive legal papers. Instructed me to call:877-596-0257 and a case number to reference. Just ignored it. Any legit debt collector will send you letters and let you know who they are representing and how much you owe. If they don't send you a collection letter, don't pay them.

I got the exact same message today but with a callback number of 877-596-0257. Its just the latest in a long list of previous attempts from a new "company". Previously filed a complaint with the CFPB on another similar group and reputable/legitimate companies will respond to the complaint within 30 days but this company didn't respond for over 6 months which tells me that it was just another scam attempt.
