Absolutely correct.  I sued Portfolio Recovery for harassment, didn't owe the debt but my lawyer said a company cannot harass an individual no matter whether they have the right or wrong person.  They can't harass you.

the problem with whomever is calling from this number is not a debt collector, because I have no debts to be collected.  They called me, asked me is I was so-n-so, and I said yes, they said they have a personal matter to discuss with me and to hold the line, several beeps, went off about 3 times then I just hung up.  I believe this person is trying to collect information as my number is on the do not call list as well.  So, everyone be warned, if someone calls you, do not give them your name or even answer yes or no to anything as they could be recording you as well.  and for god sakes add your numbers to the DoNotCall.com list yearly to prevent some of the calls.

This number called today my work phone when I answered with my company name no one was there it was silent for 20 seconds and they hung up I googled this number and found this site I am not sure why they are calling a place of business?>

As of today, this is a company that contracts with USAA's sell your car service. I definitely put my car into their database so this is legitimate for me.

A guy called and he said he had a 'business matter' with me, and then started asking me about my personal information due to the 'verification purposes'. I gave him my address without suite number and that passed, and he asked me my birth date. I told him that I will not give out my personal information unless I knew what that 'business matter' was, and he said something about Federal law prohibits him from telling me what that matter was unless he 'verified' me. So I told him once again I didn't want to do so, and he started telling me the same thing over again like a parrot, so I hung up. It could have been a serious call, I don't know what the hell, but it was very phishing-y.
