This number came in as 999 999 9999
They asked for my credit card claiming it was 24 hour fitness.  I then asked to call them back and they gave me 1 888 900 3194.  I have been getting this call lately and no one would answer. So I googled the number and found this.  Thanks for the info, I wont be calling back.

Well, after reading all these entries, i decidied to call the number myself, using my work phone, instead of the one they kept calling me on. Sure enough, there was a lady identifying herself as being from 24 hour fitness.
She asked me for my phone number and I gave it to her (they obviously already had it, because they've been calling me about 5-8 times daily without leaving a message). She knew my name and seemingly looked me up on her computer. Then she said something like: "oh, I see that you just upgraded your account. The calls are going to end now". and she hung up.
Yes, I actually was at my 24 hour fitness yesterday and I upgraded my account.

So here's my 2 cents for all those of you who are members and are afraid of giving them your credit card over the phone: Check with your local 24 hour fitness first. Do whatever you have to there. Then call the number and see if that helps. Don't give them any information over the phone they don't already know, especially no credit card numbers!

I think they are legit, as far as 24 hour fitness goes. They might be some shady part of their marketing department that want you to upgrade your account though. That's why you should call them to find out what's going on. and check with your local gym first - they might be able to stop the calls from there too.

About two weeks ago I started receiving calls from this exact number - at least two a day. I never answer them - I never answer calls if I don't reognize the number. 888-900-3194 never leaves a msg. I would like to block this number

Folks, this isn't a a scam. If you're a memebr of 24 hr. Fitness then just call them back. Before I called 888-900-3194 I called their main corporate number and customer svc told me that my membership was still on an annual basis. This was wrong as I had recently renewed via US mail and changed to monthly pmts. Obviously 24 hour Fitness' software is screwed up - didn't update my renewal option - which is triggering multiple calls by over zealous employees. Talk about corporate waste. In general 24 Hour Fitness is run by dim wits. A month ago I tried to renew by phone but the person was so stupid I hung up and completed it via mail. And of course you know the rest of the story.

I have also been getting calls from this number. They have been calling me multiple times a day for a week. Everytime they call I have been unable to answer my phone so I decided to Google it to find out who it was. I'm just glad that I'm not the only person having this problem. That's for all the help!

So i kept getting calls from this number too, and i looked on 24 hour fitness for the customer service number and gave them a call. They did say there was a legitimate problem with my account, but they asked for my credit card number again and i told them i'd go into a club to do it. I told them to stop calling me... unbelievable. We'll see if that actually happens. But i did NOT call the 888 number back.

I've received calls from both the 888# and the 999#.  They make their case pretty convincingly when you actually talk to them on the phone but I automatically question their validity when they call at 6am and 11pm.  I just got off from calling 24 Hour Fitness using the number I found on their website and asked whether or not the calls I have received were from them or not.  The woman I spoke with did not recognize the number and said that if you can, block the calls.  Like I said, they make a pretty convincing case when they call so, if I were you, I wouldn't answer.  Just a thought.  I don't anymore.  It's not very difficult to press the ignore button!

So this thread documents 5 months of calls from this number claiming to be 24 Hour Fitness.  If it were a scam they'd be closed down by now.  I have been harrassed by them too.  While I've been a member for over 15 years, they're calling to speak with Manolo Garcia who isn't at my number I've had for three years.  I've told them this person is not at this number numerous times by keypad as well as orally.  It doesn't seem to take.  My guess is that 24 Hour Fitness has outsourced some functionality of their accounting to a call center of an underdeveloped country.  Get used to it.

I keep getting calls from this number (888-900-3194) at all times of the day but no one speaks when I answer.  I just joined 24 hour fitness, but we paid our dues, so I don't know what's up.  Also, when I called the number back, no one spoke.

I'm gonna have to agree, that's what I always say if it's important they'll leave a message.

These guys are NUTS. They call so many times and so many times I have told them that the person who they're looking for doesn't own the # I have anymore. But they keep on calling. They would apologize and say that they'll remove from their call list, but still they call. These people should be sued and penalized heavily for creating such disturbance. I started getting these calls for last couple of months. Totally INSANE stupids!

I've been getting calls from this number as well. I verified the phone number with 24 hour customer service and it is their valid financial services number. My ATM account had expired and they needed the updated information. I also noticed that my gym fees hadn't been debited from my account, so figured it was legitimate and it is. I can say that I was a member about 2 years ago and canceled my account. When I did that they did automatically debit another payment (which I should have known was wrong because you pay first/last month fees up front). As a result I was part of a resolved class action suit against the gym. If you have canceled your membership and are receiving these calls, keep that in mind. Side note- I can't believe people would come on here and play scam/no scam and mess with people. Finances are very sensitive and those people should be ashamed of themselves for scaring people in the age of identity theft. Grow up.

I got a second call form this phone number today.  I answered the phone & they asked for me by name and then hung up.  I want this person to be blocked.

Got the same call today, I called them back only to speak to a lady who I could hardly understand. She sounded like she had marbles in her mouth and was totally rude. I can’t believe 24hr would have a service like this associated with their company.

Been getting calls from this number where the person just says Hello and then hangs up. Get the calls every day. My GF recently signed me up for 24 fitness, and seems too much of a coincidence. Very annoying.

The day after she signed up the calls started. At first I didnt make note of the number so cant be dure tehy are same. At first I got two calls a day from completely differnt people ane each asked for my card to pay outsatnding charges. When I explained that my GF had set up and paid they would hang up pretty quickly. They didnt seem to be in synch though as they kept repeating this process , always different people and always not knowing about the previous calls. Eventually these stopped but now I get between one and two calls a day where an automated voice (I think) just says hello and then hangs up.
Is it 24 hr or is it a scam, If it is a scam then 24 hr have leaked info, if it is 24 hr they are having very bad process and need work on customer relations. I havent set foot in the gym yet and already dislike them, and am considering asking for refund and cancelling.

I recently been getting these calls as well, I have no membership with 24 hr and when the call comes in it ask for someone else, asking to press 1 if you are that person, so just so I can tell them to stop  calling me I press 1, then it goes to some music and then hangs up?

i have been getting calls from this number and there asking for some other person, and its automated so i can't tell them they have the wrong number.

I have also been receiving calls from this number as recently as this morning. They left a message asking if this was (my name) and said if it was press "1". If this wasn't (my name) press "2". Then there was silence for a few seconds and said that if this was (my name) that it wasn't a solicitation call and to call them and give them account #(some number) and then hung up.

They haven't been leaving any messages until this morning.  I am a member of 24-hour Fitness and am glad I read this thread because I started to call them back to see what they've been calling for.  I will contact my local gym directly now that I see what's going on.  Thanks everybody for your comments! ;-)
