- notfitive gotten 3 calls from this now, 2 yesterday and 1 just now. maybe i will try and get the number blocked with my cell phone carrier, but im just not ever going to answer it. i have nothing to do with 24hour fitness or have any idea why im getting these calls now. but thanks for this, glad to know its just some stupid agency.
- CJI have been receiving an automated call from this number at least once daily on my cellphone. Each time the message is the same:
"This is a message for Daren Honda from 24 Hour Fitness"
They then give options like: "If this is not Daren Honda, press 1."
"If Daren is not available right now, press 1."
"If you need some time to go get Daren, press 2."
"If we have called the wrong number, press 3."
Each time they call I inform them that I am not Daren Honda and the message says they are "sorry" and won't call again.
I started receiving these calls a few weeks after getting non-automated calls from two different people asking for someone (if I recall correctly, they may have been asking for someone named Daren). Each time I told them they had the wrong number and then hung up.- Caller: unknown
- tbarrickPicked up and all it said was "hello.....goodbye" in an automated voice. Now that they have my number I suspect I will be getting tons of calls everyday like everyone else does.
- HawaiiWe did not renew with 24hr now they've been calling from this computer for the past 2 weeks. We spoke to them several times but they keep calling. [***]!
- ReggieMy wife and I signed up 3 years ago for a lifetime membership. My wife signed up first and paid by credit card. I, then signed up a few days after her and paid with cash. The automated caller started calling twice a day since the beginning of March of'08(2 months ago). They never called me, but every Monday through Friday, twice a day, we would get a message left on our answering machine. We both have renewed our membership, but continue to receive these stupid automated calls.
When I called the number to let them know that we've already renewed I got that two toned "busy signal. I still haven't gotten through, even thought they said at 24 Hour Fitness that the calls would stop within a week to 10 days (to allow for processing time lag)... I'm going to write a letter of complaint to the corporate office. I encourge all of you to do the same. Maybe enough voices expressing a bad image will speak louder than phone calls. This outsourcing reflects SOOO poorly on a corporations image...- Caller: 24 HOUR FITNESS

- Big DPeople, there's an easy solution to get rid of these calls.
I actually just received a call from 888-900-3194 but I missed the call so I called the number.
They said they were from 24 Hour Fitness and I said I see that you called my cell number they then asked for my number and said my name and I said that I wasn't this person so they said "sorry I'll remove your name from the database".
Poof, it's over with.- Caller: 24 Hour Fitness
- Actually not a scam replies to ~charm~I started getting calls from this number as well so I looked it up and found this thread. I called the 800 number listed on my card. Sure enough i forgot to report my new card for auto pay after I got it. While i would urge everyone not to give out their credit card numbers to anyone thats calls you, please call 24 hour fitness using the number on your membership card or their direct site as the 24 employee told me this was a real number for their finance department.
I know people will say this post is part of the scam and I;m not telling you to give out your credit card info to people that call you. All I am saying is, it's a good chance something is wrong with your account and to call 24 hour fitness yourself to resolve the issue before you walk in the gym to a cancelled account. - YoI was harassed relentlessly by 24 Hour Fitness through this number on my cell phone even after I called many times asking them to stop. The answer: Contact the BETTER BUSINESS BUROUGH. They have a website where you can file a claim and it will be handled.

- cablet"Hello, Goodbye" Once a day for several weeks now. I am glad about this web site. Maybe I can take action. When I call the number back I hear two tones back and forth and then it hangs up. It almost sounds like a European phone tone.
- caty| 1 replySomeone from this number 888-900-3194 keeps calling saying they are from 24-Hour Fitness and needs my credit card information. I have contacted 24 Hour, this is not them- and this is a scam. I searched on the internet and it seems they have done this to a lot of people. If you think you owe money to 24 Hour, then go to your local gym and pay them directly- do not do it over the phone to this number.
- Nyna replies to caty24 hour fitness has called me 10 times a day for a week now. They keep asking for someone who I don't know. I've spoken with 3 different people and asked them all to stop calling me, that they have the wrong number, yet my cell phone just keeps ringing. I have called this number back several times, and an just put on hold and left there indefinately every time I call. I have never had any business with these people.
- philipI got the same problem with them asking me to renew my membership and when told I wont renew, they just hung up and of course someone else will call again. My blackberry has opion where I can just mute the ring when they call again and I just did that so annoying

- DenverDudeThis IS 24 hour fitness. They will continue to call until you renew or cancel your membership UNLESS you say that this is unacceptable and that you haven't decided and your continuing to call is making me lean towards NOT renewing AND suing them for harrassment.
Once I said that, I got a tech support manager and he was able to flag the account for no calls.- Caller: 24 Hour Fitness

- jayI called it back and they answered. @$ hour fitness. I informed them I cancelled my account and they forwarded me to the 'cancellation' department. Then the phone said goodbye. whatever.
- DI've been getting these calls since I signed up with 24hr Fitness a few weeks ago. I thought it was odd to be getting called by a 888 number, so I never answered and googled it later to find this forum which made me even more skeptical. The last time this number called me, a voicemail was left asking to contact 24hr at the same number. Instead of potentially falling into the trap, I called the number listed on 24hr's website. The lady there informed me that I was contacted because they had not received my initial payment. My credit card company says otherwise, but that's a whole 'nother story.
Long story short...if you are a member of 24hr Fitness and have received a phone call from 1-888-900-3194, my advice is (1) don't answer and (2) call the member service line at 1-800-423-6348 and ask if there is an issue with your membership or (3) talk to a manager at the gym. I am still highly skeptical of 1-888-900-3194. Why this sort of contact/transaction isn't done by mail is beyond me and the desciptions of some these phone calls would make anyone think twice about answering even if it were a legitimate solicitation. - jliveseySame story here. I cancelled a while back, but they seem to think if they call me often enough I'll change my mind.
I guess the recession is hitting home. Ironically, if they had only kept the gym a little cleaner, I would still be a member.- Caller: 24hr fitness
- jim from CAI gave my cc info out and then thought was this legit. I called my 24 hour fitness and they confirmed a payment was posted that day.. as a membership renewel..
so in this case this is legit.. perhaps 24 hour fitness uses a collection type agency to get payments for them..- Caller: 24 hour fitness

getting calls about 6x a day from these people. They are telling me i owe money for my membership that i cancelled almost 2 months prior. I spoke with my gym and they say i own nothing on my account....this can only lead me to believe this is a scam.....- Caller: 24 hours fitness

- Jonathan CThis is 24 Hour Fitness. I received a call from their collection agency NARS (866) 270-1612, and the person I spoke with, Natoya, was actually very kind and gave me all of the information I asked for. She also gave me the option of settling the account, but I politely declined considering I don't actually owe anything.
I called 24 Hour Fitness directly at (888) 900-3194 to find out what the deal was, and they said that I never paid my initiation fee. Well, that's odd... I signed up on April 15 and they debited the entire amount (initiation fee, first month, and last month membership fee) immediately - as verified on my bank statement. The representative had no information for me on how I could prove to them that they took the money from my account... no fax number, no mailing address, nothing.
I asked if I could settle this by taking a copy of my bank statements and the carbon copies of my sign up forms (yes, I kept those too) to the gym and he laughed at me. He asked me why I didn't just agree to settle with the collection agency, to which I replied, "Because you already got my money. Stop laughing, this may be funny to you won't be laughing when a company f**ks with you and sends you to collections."
He hung up. I am amazed that NARS (the collection agency) has better customer service than 24 Hour Fitness. It was not polite for me to raise my voice and curse at the 24 Hr. representative, but it was even more wrong for him to laugh at me when I had been otherwise calm and polite for the entire call.
Thanks to the information provided by Natoya at NARS I will be faxing all relevant information proving I don't owe them any money, and I will be canceling my 24 Hour Fitness membership promptly. I advise others to stay away from them.- Caller: National Asset Recovery Services
