Level 3 Communications

- Hmmmm replies to James BossinghamSounds like a vendetta post. That number does not appear on 800notes as having a history of complaints. Go away!
- Resident47 replies to James BossinghamFor the very last time, your "pushy" call did not come "from" Level 3, any more than your last power bill came "from" the Postal Service or a TV commercial for a luxury car came "from" your dish or cable company. The message, the messenger, and the message source are three distinctly different things.
Unless *one* of you can point to Level 3's back end operation and demonstrate that the carrier is doing more than simply passing along phone calls as federal law *requires* of it, this thread serves only to attract more and more inane unrelated posts about "duh 'nother scam numbuh". Either we need corresponding threads for AT&T, MCI, Peerless, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, et al out of fairness or Admin should lock this mess for all time. - LP replies to lone stranger| 1 replytotal SCAM

You obviously did not understand what was written. - ANonieMouseResident47 is correct:

It appears that that many international scammers, as well as what may be foreign funded propaganda web sites which publish personal information of individuals (I believe this is called "Doxxing" in some circles).with the intent of encouraging physical violence against said individuals make use of Level 3 to maintain anonymity.
It appears that Level 3 is trying to curtail criminal activities of this type. - confusedOk so i recently got a second hand htc and was told the carrier was boost mobile after using it for a few weeks i chose to see about switching carriers....long story short removed the sim card yet the phone is still fully operational only says no sim card inserted.... still sends and recieves calls and text messages...how is that even possible????
- CJ| 1 replyThank you for all of your post so far. I have updated info and a question regarding this number/company, etc...
Um, So i got a call from this number 630-449-3039 (illinois), when I back search it it says level 3. It is a robocall and has called me 3-5 times a day for the last 2 weeks or so. I pick up, as I sometimes do, when I am curious to the people who would repeatedly call me and leave no message... #urgent, not urgent...#sorry, not sorry.... kind of thing. Finally, a person picks up asking for my ex husband..... curious, I ask what this is regarding. They tell me a "personal matter."
Anyways this conversation got out of hand, more calls came, and I filed a complaint with the FCC, after multiple requests to stop calling me as i am on the do not call list and for such a personal call.....obviously if they don't know whom they are calling......its not personal...
So my question is...what are my rights? How did they get my number, especially years after a divorce? and can I get a copy of the recording of the phone call?
thanks! - unknownThey may be just the carrier!
But why can I not get who the caller is that calls and does not leave a message?
Unavailable is not a name!
Is it not harassment to call and not leave a message? Is this also the one that calls and says their from the IRS!
What is the National no call list for if they continue to call and must be claiming they not covered because they have their business in UA. - R Hendeson replies to PaybackI believe your thinking of L3. Level 3 is a defense contractor. I used to work or them in Nebraska.

- BigA replies to Anthony"Add this number as well 317-602-2261" No need to add it, it was already there, all you had to do was to put it into the search box, like I did and you would have been directed to the proper place to put your post. See, here it is: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-317-602-2261
Further, this thread is about a particular phone company, not about debt collectors. - mickey clarkI think the government, at some level, is involved in this. With all the public service commissions in all 50 states that govern companies like level 3 communications, you would think that this spam business would have stopped in its tracks a long time ago. They probably get some of the information that is somehow gleaned from all this. There has to be a reason why a company would hang up their phone the second its answered.
