I received a call from this number stating that they are from government grant department. They said that did a demografic survey in the month of December in my area and because I have no criminal record or have not filed for bankruptcy that I am being rewarded $7000. Grant money. They had my name and address and wanted my bank or credit card number to transfer the money but I told them them I would not give my personal information. Then they proceeded to tell me that they could transfer it to me per western union but I would have to pay a $250. These people should be put in prison.  [***].

I received a call from 202 621 0436 telling me I will receive $7000.00 as a government grant and they gave me an ID to call a Supervisor at the above phone number.

When they start askimg for numbers like a CC or bank account just rattle off 12 numbers (Fake) and a (fake) exp date

Never asked for my account #. But the # is busy. The weird part was they already had my address.

Just got the same phone call from the same number.  I am in MT. I've been getting messages from them for the last day or so and today finally answered and played with them for a bit. Same as everyone else did. But I do have to give them credit for being so devoted to make the scam work even after all of the things I said to him, about him, his mom. Stuff like that. And the dude didn't miss a beat.  Just kept on with his gig.
That's not a good trait for a conman.  I should know...

I just got off of the phone with them and i was to recieve $7,500 in grant money (I've never applied for one) and after refusing bank draft and credit card he was going to have it wired Western Union as soon as I verified my address (the one he had was very wrong) and also asking if I'm married or single...I just hung up at that point. I only answered my cell since the number came in as 0000000 and I've never seen that before.

I recived the same cll today asking me to depoist 250.00 to get 7000 grant for federal bank..

I got a call from these people offering me  a $7000 government grant.  They asked me for my bank account number and told me to wire them $250 security and then they would release the money.

So after getting a few calls from 0000000000 i decided 2 answer, the foreign lady said I'd been.selected 2 revieve 7000 in grants money from the government since i pay my bills and dnt have a criminal record (funny since I'm in debt)... anyway she asked how I'd spend it i said bills n stuff she says very good how would i like 2 recieve the grants money asked by credit card or checking account, i said y can't u mail it 2 me she said we can't send it by check... i told her oh well i have no accounts she gave me a code n the 202 number so i called  another foreign lady answers jus by saying hello... sorry but government officials would b more professional when answering the phone she says the western union thing so I'm all ok then she says the crap about 250 dollar security deposit ... i said I'm not giving u money n she said sum other crap n asked me again so i said if I'm supposidly getting 7000 y the hell can't u take it from there cuz I'm not giving u money she says fine its ur choice n hung up.... I'd jus like 2 knw how these ppl know the info they do about me... pretty messed up!

So just like the rest of you i recieved a phone call from 0000000000 i answered it was a guy from india or somewhere he said i have been selected to recieve a grant in the amount of 7000 i said how is that and why me out of all the people he said the government gdant done a survey and i paid my taxes on time dont have no background and some other bs he verfied my info then placed me on hold for 10 mins came back to the phone told me i need to call his supervisor so they can release the funds the number was 202+621+0436 and he also gave me a confirmation code then i called no answer called again then this other man picked up saying us federal grants department i gave him the confirmation code then he placed me on hold for 15 mims he said he had yo create a profile for me them he asked me have i called before i said no then he told me again why i wad recieving the grant then he said can i go to the western union i said yeah then he said well we dont have the funds here it is at the fedetal bank only they can release the funds but they require a 250 deposite and i said well i dont have it then he said dont pass up this one time offer and then he said well we bout to close call me 2ma and have the 250 before you go to western union call me first so i can walk you through everything i toldd him to go [***] his self and hung up im diffently going to report these guys.

got the same call as everybody else did. i was skeptical about the $260.00 i had to deposit with western union. when i said i didnt have the money to deposit they said it was a problem. that didnt sound right. they want money up front. how about you give me the $7000.00 first and i will be happy to deposit the $250.00 with western union. can you spell SCAM!!!!!!!!!

i called em back and told them i was uncle sam with the national treasuray and united states governent grant agency, and I needed to talk to a supervisor. i swear the man that picked up said "oh [***]" and immediately hung up, now every time i call, there number its ALWAYS busy. theres your golden ticket, they havnt called me back one time since

I have just received a call from an unknown number which has directed me to (202)621-0436 and I spoke with Matthew Rogers(?), who asked me to Western Union $250 in order to claim my $7K grant in which I am "entitled." Well, I said that I would further check into this and get back with him, due to just being awakened with the phone call, and he was pretty cool about it...

Anyway, i Googled the phone number and found pages such as this, which has prompted me to call a legitimate US grant office, and I was told that NO grant office will solicit you- so please do not fall for it!

You should report these callers to the Office of Inspector General @ (800)447-8477.

You may be eligible for the same grant $, however, you can apply legitimately at www.benefits.gov for personal financial assistance or small business funding, etc. or @ www.grants.gov for charitable funding, such as starting a museum or hospital, for example. (I'm sure there are other similar sites to apply, but these were the only two sites I was informed of.)

According to grant.gov's customer service representative, "9 out of 10" agencies will NOT ask you for a fee of any sort.

So please take precaution & I hope this helped:)

here's   other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  calling  on  behalf  of  a  humane  society..... $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money......../   conducting  some  "  unknown  survey "........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  your  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

they had call me this morning saying i had won 7500  but i have to give them my bank account or go to western watson and make a 300 dollor diposit so i could resive the money ,but i told them am the interesting in this but they keep on calling
