I just screwed up! I'm home in bed very sick. Gave them all my info!!!  Now what?  Did not wire money. OMG what have I done!!!!

I go a from a woman named Veronia Stone, who said I was qualified for a grant of 7000.00 dollars. She said all I had to do was to call this # 202-621-0436 to talk to the director  of the grant agency,to barified my informantion to recieve my grant  money. She also ask if I would like to recieve the money by cash,or direct deposit, at whick time I would I would have to,which she started to explain what I would need to do at either way I chose to recieve the cash. At this point in the call, I beginned to smell a RAT. I told her that I would call the 202 number and hung up. I them called our local police Dept. and talked to a detective,and gave the detective the 202-621-0436 number. I was told that the had been used many times before, and it was lengthed to a scam operation.

I got the same call. He had me after he said there were only 1500
People that the govt could find who paid their taxes, had no criminal record or bankrupts.
I mean that sounded like an accurate number to me.  Really???

I been getting a call from these people for a month...
they gave me the 202-621-0436 number and a pin
They said all I had to do was make a $280.00 donation ..
and then the $7,000 would be in my account in less the an hour...
I just got another call from them today.. from a stacey and all the other times it was a guy
That called and gave me a web site... and a pin

I got a call from an unknown number 3 times before I answered. They said I recieved a $7,000 grant from the government. They verified all my informaiton, which is creepy. Gave me the 202-621-0436 number to call back right away...that's not going to happen.

I received a call from. Unknown. Caller.to call and received 7000.00 dollars. Grant.which I need to paid 2800 for

They told me the government give out 7000 dollars to each state. 1700 people are picked
out of each state in I am 1 of the lucky ones is my state. I asked to be why am I getting this money
they said have you been staying out of trouble with the law
. anyway they had me doing.... they ask me how I wanted to get payed. they said Western Union.
280 dollars and they will send me my 7000 dollars.. the only thing is is that the Franchise Tax Board to pull my money already... so why would they want to give me 7000 dollars... it was all a lie nobody gives you money for free..... anyway it's not free you have to give me 280 dollars... haha Maine meanie meanie

Thieves are still at it called me twice first a man then a woman i guess they aren't keeping track but they gave me the same spill $7000 grant for paying my bills on time and being a good person I'm trying to figure out how they had as much info as they did but they are connected to some of the online schools somehow so if you're going to further your education talk to someone on the phone because the internet is full of spyware and your chances of getting someone that doesn't speak English is slim LOL

Got a call from these people. There number was unavailable when they called me. As with others, they were offering a $7000 grant. The woman had a heavy accent and she wanted me to verify my address. She had my name correct but She did not have my correct address. Fortunately I was skeptical enough not to give her my address. She said that was fine. She attempted to give me a verification number and a phone number to call. I could not understand her English when she attempted to give me the verification number. She ended up hanging up on me. A few minutes later I got a call back from them and I went through the same process. This guy ended up hanging up on me also. He called back and I finally figured out the verification number he was trying to give me. After I hung up with him I called the number he gave and at the same time I googled the phone number and here I saw what everyone had to say and realized I was being scammed. When they answered they again wanted to verify my address. I said no and that I looked up the phone number they gave me and felt I was being scammed. The woman said this was no scam and hung up on me.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm unemployed right now and 7000 would have been nice. Thank goodness I didn't give them any further info.

I was called last week from a foreign woman telling me i qualified for a 10,000 federal grant. i told her i wasn't interested and hung up. Tonight i  received a call from a man, number unknown calling, telling me i had qualified for a 7,000 federal grant so i let him go ahead and tell me what i had to do. he told me i had to call this number and give them a confirmation number and they would give me the directions on how to receive my 7,000. I called my son and told him and he told me to google the number and this is where i got. i knew i wasn't going to do it, but i'm glad i googled the number. This just confirmed what i already knew. Somebody needs to warn people about this scam going on.

Also received this phone call.  I did not call the number, wife said it was a scam!  I guess she was right!  Get the word out so nobody falls for this scam.

Yeah the call right off the back seemed funny to me because the government does care about what you do with their money. I'm no dummy but some people are i didn't even make the other call i just googled the number and got this page. but to those who don't know he going to tell you to call right away and try to give you a conformation code and everything try to make is sound legit he knew my name but had the wrong address for me so hes going to ask you to correct it for him then he can give you the code and the number  after that he claims to be from the us government but hes not so don't be a fool cause when your broke it sounds good

I just received the same call right now saying they were from u.s government grant services wanting to give me 7,000 for 280 security deposit ..I'm so glad I Google's this number first..too good to be true!!

If you have submitted information to publishers clearing house, they sell your info to these scum bags. It happend to me today as it did when i did so in 2007. Report p.c.h. to bbb.

The first  call I received on Tuesday April 23rd from a guy named Mark Spencer. He had a foreign accent and said he was calling from the US Grant Dept in Washington, DC. He told me I was selected to receive a $7000 grant grant from the government. He was trying to get my personal information and bank account info. He gave me an id code and the number to call to get the grant.Then I received a second call today 29th from a foreign lady but I did not get her name. She called about the same $7000 grant that I was awarded. I told I had recently talked to someone else about the same thing and  I asked was this legitimate. She told me I was given the wrong information and told me to write down  a new I'd code
with the same phone number to call. The line was buy or there was no answer when I tried to call. The even verified my address.

Government chose me for a $7000 grant and all I have to do is call 202-621-0436. My question is: why is my govenment enlisting people who can't speak English to give away these grants??!!? Original call came from 000-000-0000.
