Yes the same thing happen to me. The lady called me and told me that they took a poll in my area last year and that I was 1 out of 17,000 other people had been picked to get grant money for school, home or work. They gave me a confirmation number and told me that I had to go to the money gram store or Western Union to get  the 7,000 but first I had to send them 290.00 to confirm that it was me. I told her to take the 290.00 out the 7,000.00 because if it was my money I should not have to pay anything to get the grant money . When I ask her if this was a scam she raised her voice at me and said "Hey leave it then, It's your money and if you don't want it don't take it", and hung up. She kept saying that this was from the  US Government and that this call was recorded. I really wish the Gov't would find thee people for using their name for something like this. They are trying to take advantage of people.  And what I do know is if you win money, and  if you owe anything, taxes, ect. then those people will take their money out first ad send you the rest. This is a scam! scam! scam!

My husband recieved a call from this number. I called it and HA HA HA .It is scam all over it. They offered us $7000. to be wired to money gram if we sent $279.99 for bank to bank transfer. We were to provide a CC # and call them when we were in the parking lot of the moneygram store to receive the need information to retrieve the money from money gram.  It takes 15-20 minutes for a money gram transfer and 7-9 hours for a Western Union transfer. I am reporting this to the three credit bureaus and the Federal Government Scam line. This is very scary.

i just experienced the same call.  i told him it was a scam and that i was going to call the authorities.  he then told me i wasn't listening to what he was saying.  i told him i wasn't paying for anything until i got the money.  he began to raise his voice so i interrupted him and told him not to talk to me that way since he was representing the government.  he raised his voice again i told him not to threaten me.  he kept getting more and more upset with me until he finally hung up.  now i think i am going to call them with prank calls.  i might tell them i am with the IRS and investigating complaints.  hahaha.

just got a phone call from 000-000-0000. all zero's, this guy claims he works for the us treasury in washington d.c and the says i qualify for $7000 grant. gives me conf # and another phone number to call to receive my funds. i called the number, 202-621-0436, and this woman gives me the same bull that the dude gave me before about $7000 grant and why i receiving it, thought it was funny that one of the reasons was cause I have no criminal record! lmao. if it was really a UNITED STATES government agency, they would no better than that! once they said that i kne it was too good to be true, and they confirmed my suspicion by telling me i had to wire them $280 to india?!?! and gave me the name Yodan,Yehuda!?!?! they wanted me to use moneygram.  GRANT MONEY IS FREE!! IT DOESNT COST MONEY TO RECEIVE A REAL GRANT!

i keep calling them back and harassing them.. i think its hilarious!!! lol they are very violent and keep shouting at me, i just sit there and yell SCAM SCAM SCAM! i call police!

Got that call and gave my card # thought about it looked them and the # up and seen all this so I called and cancels the card got to be carefully.so who can I call to report this Dam sham been out of work do to injury  for 5 months and Lord knows I need some coins.

I also got the call. Yes, India sounding accent. Said his name is Kevin calling from Washington, D.C. I was chosen to receive a $7000.00 grant from the government because I pay my bills on time. Free grant money that I never even have to pay back. Hahahahahahahaha

I highly doubt the US Government would use western union to send money. And the for sure wouldn't give you a grant in cash. And ain't nobody have to pay for a grant! Grants are free money. And high would the government hire all Indian people to run there Grant department when no Amrrican on this earth and freaking understand them. Nope Nope nope SCAM SCAM SCAM

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with the "United States Federal Grants Department" claiming that I had been selected to receive 7000 dollars in free grant money for no apparent reason. Reasonably suspicious I googled the phone number he gave me to call back and discovered that my suspicions were correct.

Im 19 years old and was smart enough to know it was a scam and googled it as they were talking to me. However not all kids my age are that smart. Somebody needs to take these people down!!! TOTAL SCAM!!

I was called today saying that I had a $7000. grant waiting for me.  They said from the demographics in Florida I was selected.  Funny they had the wrong zip code and address listed for me.  They gave me an idea number to claim the money and asked what I would be spending it on.  Told them I was a cancer pt and would use it for my meds and treatment.  As long as it was not being used for illegal  things I was good.  The first caller did not take any info and told me to call 202-621-0436 and give them the Id#.  I did so and spoke with a Kristy. She asked me how I would like to receive the money, (western union, credit or debi card or checking act.  Told her debt card (was a prepaid card) gave her the number then she asked me if I had a western union near me, to bring Id and $280.00.  She got offended when I told her it sounded like a scam that the Federal Government would not ask for money to receive a Grant.  She said it was so I could prove who I was and that after the transfer took place I would get that money back.  Told her that was a lot of money and could not put my hands on that at this moment as I have medical expenses and am out of work.  She told me that she would keep the file open and to call back when I had it and ask for her. This is very upsetting that people are doing this to others. I could really use this money and the prey on the weak. Thank you for your site hopefully this will stop them.  Would appreciate knowing how this turns out.

Received a call from a guy claiming to be "Jeff" 416-364-1111 who said that I was ONE of 1,500 who would be getting a $7,000 grant from the government for really no reason other than some survey. I told him look if its too good to be true it usually is. He gives me this Confirmation No. and tells me to call 202-621-0436 and when I call there, this woman was very foreign. I asked where I was calling. She said oh, Washington. My ass, Washington! Probably frickin India! When I told her I wasn't sure why I was supposed to be getting this money, she said why are you calling me?!! HELLO??? If you are going to have a scam, please get your [***] together people. Reporting to the BBB. Anything to screw Americans over.

I was just offered $7,000 in grant. His name is Anthony Garden (fake name) with a foreign accent. Asian. He had my home address and cell phone number. Maybe they stole info from ATT, hacking their computers. They asked me to pay the IRS $280 to get the money. By paying the federal reserve, through their bank. extension is x011.

I had filled out info online for grants, with my email or phone number.

oh god these guys just called up for the same reason fooling me around they are so specialised in calling they asked me to contact a western union money transfer with an amt of 298$ i just asked them why dont u pay the amt first then i will pay tax for the same he said no to me and said my state wonnt be able to do the same as for any transfer they would charge 15% of the amount

I just recieved a call stating the same thing. They told me that I could pick up my money within the next 40 minutes at any place that has a "money market/money gram".

LOL,I was told that I would first need to give $200.00 to secure the money and then it would be refunded,hahahahahahaha....yeah RIGHT !!!!

They called me this morning offering me $7000 from the government give away. I can claim my grant if I call them back at that number.
