I just hung up with the woman who gave me the same # to call to get my $.....PU LEEEEEZ!!!!
So wrong.....

I got a call about a 7000 grant. I looked the # up instead of calling it back I saw what you all had to say and decided to call homeland security they told me  What u want to do is report it at www.ic3.gov or report it at this # 800 643 5078.

Received a phone call from this number 202.621.0436 yesterday. She (the woman didn't speak real good english by no means, had to ask her name twice, but still didn't understand) told me I'd been selected out of so many people to be given a grant of $7k to do whatever I wanted to with. (BS) was my first thought! Then she goes on to ask me what I'd do with it...I said "oh, I could do plenty with any kind a $$"! Then she asked which way I'd like to get my $$: by checking account or loaded onto my debit/credit card. I told her she could send a check! She come back and said "sorry ma'am we can't send you a check". Then I told her we didn't have credit/debit or checking account. So she told me to call this number 202.621.0436 and speak to an "account administrator", along with an ID#!!! I never called it back! The weird thing is I didn't give her any information, but she quoted my address and birthday! How the heck did she get that information? Boy what peeps will do for a buck!!!

Wow really, why cant they do something about these people?  I feel sorry for the young people that haven't already been burned and actually fall for this scam.  I don't even get who comes up with this [***]?

They are busy, aren't they? I got a call this morning and some dude that sounded Nigerian gave me a conformation number and phone # to call to verify the money. $7000. They said the qualifications were you couldn't have a criminal record. It's the stinking government! They know if you wiped your but with Charmin! Let's get real! Their Phones were static filled and cutting out. The 202-621-0436 told me to call her back 2 different times. So I Googled the number and got this. Where's the cops when you need them?

I had been getting calls from 0000000 number and been ignoring them.  This morning I finally answered and got the same skit everyone else did.  My bank card was compromised about a month ago,  wonder how all these people get this info????

Got a call from this number saying that I had been chosen to receive a $7k grant. They called asking for my checking account number or a credit card to transfer the money.

You would be surprised what personal information about you is in the public domain to be obtained.  If you have ever filled out a form from your school district about your household that information is now public.  I do genealogical research and I am appalled at how much personal data can be gotten about living individuals via simple searches and the vast majority of it was not released by the individual.  Google your name and city and just see what you will find.

SCAM!  Google "US Government Grants Scam" for details then report the call to the number listed in the article.

Just got off the phone with these clowns. When I doubted they were with the government and started asking questions the barely English speaking chick could answer some man came on the line. When I told him I thought the call was BS he started calling me an MF over and over, must be the only English swear word he knew. they called back twice after that, this time with a blocked number. Absolutely a scam!

If you go to http://www.fakenamegenerator.com and generate a fake ID. Print it out so you can easily give it to them when they call.

i just received the same phone call....non-english  speaking man,who also got pushy when i informed him that i have relatives on the local law enforcement!!! SCAM ALL THE WAY!! I even asked him if President Obama was authorizing this so called grant...isn't that some form of treason or perjury on our government??

My girl freind also got the same call. She did give them her info bank card social etc. and she was just about to get me to take her to western union when I googled the phone number and found this page. I think I f**ck with them a little bit when they call back.

They wanted me to send 290.00 us dollars via WU I promptly hung up and did some research.

Same Call But I Recorded The Whole Conversion! My Phone Pinged The Calls Location, NOT FROM WASHINGTON AND I WILL BE REPORTING THE EVIDENCE TO THE Federal Bureau of Investigation* It's Sad For Some I Can Imagine It Was Very Upsetting! But Aye I Get Paid Regardless! Thanks To Them Making My Job Alot Easier! If There's Not Another Party To Replace Them, Hopefully None Of You Will Have To Will Have To Worry About This Again. They've Under Investigation Now At This Point, Thank You All For Your Evidence And Testimonials.
