Listed on caller ID. No message. I never answer calls from unknown numbers especially out of my area. Medical alert soliciting is probably the guilty caller. Why doesn't someone do something to stop this nonsense!

Another scam????  Wish people would stop calling and NOT leaving messages

Keep getting calls from this number but don't answer.

I don't answer callers I don't recognize. They didn't leave a message.
Apparently this is another medic alert device. I can get several of these a day. Not answering and then blocking the number is the best action I can take.
Yes, this caller or another imitator will call from a different number. There's nothing you can do to stop new numbers from calling unless your device blocks entire area codes. Only the phone companies can stop this scourge and they won't stop while they're making money from it.

We're even getting calls which show on our ID as local, as if from a close neighbor, then it turns out to that company that wants to lower our credit card rate.  One call even showed on our ID as being from our very own phone number AND our name.  Go figure!

RULE NO. 1: If you don't recognize the caller, DON'T ANSWER!!
RULE NO. 2: If still in doubt, check it out on line.  If you made a mistake, you can call back.  I have made only 1 mistake.
RULE NO. 3: NEVER EVER give one bit of information to these jerks.  If you pick up the phone, you've already given info.

I don't know who these jerks are, and I don't give a flip.  The only difficulty I encounter is that my wife is one of these people who gets nervous as hell when the phone rings, and nags at me for not answering.  Therefore, I have to check out all these types of calls to assuage her doubts (and to prove that I was right.)  I have learned to enjoy the process.  No need to fret.  You can't change it.  If these people didn't get responses, they would give it up soon enough and move on to other activities to amuse themselves.

Called us , caller ID said "New York NY" and number 212-662-1326.  They hung up without leaving a message.

Sounds like we're married to the same woman!  She's learning her lesson though, and now trusts me to handle, i.e. block, this annoying stuff.

Of course the DNC list is useless.  Just as importantly, the Government DNC center is another useless agency that we taxpayers fund every year to the tune of millions of dollars.  It is simply another boondoggle designed to have more government employee to lobby work to get more Democrats elected so they will create more government employees to help them gety elected.  Tell your representatives to abolish the DNC center.  Fat chance.

I've been thinking of buying an air horn and deafening a few of these [***].  I saw a horn that used to be on a railroad diesel engine.   $200, but what satisfaction I would get from the purchase!  I am tired if screaming into the phone.

Apparently,  bas-t-ards is unacceptable language.  Obviously, the people who run this are not from Brooklyn!

I also block entire 212 area code.  Works!

You can buy an air horn at Party City for around $4.00 that should serve the purpose.  One short blast will make their ear ring for quite a while.

I bothered answering this one, and hung up immediately when the recorded voice began with "Hello seniors!"

The best approach is to just immediately hang up, without any effort to either argue, tell them off, be polite, or anything else. Then just block the phone number if you can do so.

You're only upsetting yourself by shouting at them or sounding an air horn, or any of the rest of it. They are paid to tolerate that stuff and couldn't care less. You aren't being paid to listen to them or get upset with them.

Still trying to sell me a "Medical Alert" of some kind.  I don't listen to the whole spiel.  You would think they would eventually move on to new numbers.

I dont understand. What benefit do these scammers get out of making these millions of calls harassing and annoying people nonstop? Could they ever make enough profit when maybe 95% of the people don't want to be called. Or are there enough people sitting around waiting for these calls and actually getting scammed by a purchase. Unbelievable.

The "Do Not Call" list is effective only if the telemarketers honor it....obviously, more and more scammers are disregarding the list.  The best solution is not to answer the call and then block the number.  (of course, the next day the same company spoofs yet another number.)
