I did have this charge come up and it was listed as INTERSTATE 4029357733 MO.  Upon searching it out, it is the charge I made when I ordered extra school pictures online from Inter-State Studio & Publishing Co.  I did pay for this through Pay Pal, and I did make the purchase.  I know people get the accounts hacked, but this is a legitimate Pay Pal Purchase, at least in my case.

Not true. 402-935-7733 is indeed a VALID paypal number. I was just in my account disputing this same type of charge and changing my password.  While I was browsing around in customer support it clearly listed this number.  Straight from PayPal site copy and pasted: "For any type of unauthorized transaction or error, you can call PayPal Customer Service at 402-935-7733."

I'm not sure it's a PayPal hack. My wife does not have a PayPal account but did purchase items from the Mary Maxim site on 4-11-2013 with her Wells Fargo card. Now we have 9 different charges totaling around $694.00. Wells Fargo called us to ask us if we charged these items. We said no and now they are investigating them. They also stopped payment on them seeing as they were still "pending" payments. They said it will take about a week to get put back into our account. They also cancelled her card and are sending out a new one.

I also called PayPal and they are looking into it also. Not sure how that's going to turn out. I also went to our local police department, which was suggested by PayPal, to have them call their phone number and put in a subpoena for the information.

Time will tell how it all comes out.

I found this information doing some research on a eBay purchase I made recently. Its a one time PayPal charge on my bank statement, in the exact amount I owed for my item. So, for me, this is a legit charge and I've had no other issues.

Had a call from this no. But did not answer it. Will this mean I may find money missing from my account.  I have just made a transaction with PayPal.

That is not the number on their site. The number they have on their site is 402-935-2050  and they also have a 1-888 number as well. That is all.

I got the same number (935-7733) calling me several times from these people. I rarely if at all answer numbers I do not recognize for fear of being scammed via my cell number. I called Paypal myself just a few moments ago and the operator I spoke with said It is NOT one of their numbers, they do not have that number what-so-ever. I called again and I am now talking with another operator and she says it is NOT one of their numbers.

It could be someone who works at Paypal scamming customers. Some companies have people working from their homes. You call the company you're working for, you get a code number to type into your computer and/or your phone, then you are connected to the numbers used by the company. When someone calls you, you don't know what number they called but it goes straight to your phone for you to answer it. The caller does not know your number either. This is just one example of how it works. Hackers can do similar and just by you answering (or returning a call) your phone or hacking into your computer and monitoring your daily itinerary.

It could also be a professional hacker(s). In fact my anti-malware AND my anti-virus programs keep blocking some suspicious activity on my computer today and yesterday ...and that is when this 402 number started calling my cell phone.  I forget the name of the "phishing" malware and I immediately delete those things but it just is too coincidental to all be happening at once to me so I believe those telling me it is NOT legit.

How do we know the people here telling us that the number is legit, isn't a part of or the one doing this scam, huh?  Just saying, you never know.  It's NOT Paypal, Ebay or Amazon doing this, it's someone out there hacking these companies and our accounts.  Just DO NOT answer an unrecognized number. If you are getting these types of charges on your cards or bank accounts, immediately change your PW's, and change them every 2 weeks to a month. Also, another good idea is to make your password annoyingly LONG with numbers, letters and symbols (if allowed).

Just to be SAFE... ONLY call/accept the phone number on the Paypal site. Program it in your phone. Do this with anything you exchange money online with.  Let them know that is the only number you will call or answer to for whatever reason.

The DE could be the initials of the FAKE Marketing company. Sometimes the word(s) are shortened and added as if it is all one word.

If you all notice, the charges on your accounts are from different States, like Nebraska, Mass, Texas etc.  When I talked to the legitimate operators of Paypal, I asked them if they were out of Nebraska. They said NO. They are out of California. Nowhere else!!

The scammers pulling this sh*# are using the name Paypal with added company names and such but they are NOT Paypal.

that's a sure sign of a scammer.   Do any of you ever get umpteen calls from an UNKNOWN number?  These are also scammers too.  I hope you all are smart enough to never ever answer UNKNOWN calls.  Some are Private numbers so it's good chance it might be legit more-so than an UNKNOWN number.  Just BE AWARE of these jerks scamming you via cell phones, land-line phones, computers and emails.

Actually it is not a legit Paypal number.  It is two people (from Nebraska and Texas) using the NAME in their transactions.

About 2 weeks ago I received a bill from Paypal for $496.00 out of a $500.00 credit line.  I have NEVER used paypal but this account was open with all my info.  I did not realize anything was done until I got the bill in the mail.  The accout was opened and maxed out in 5 days.  I reported it to paypal who does not appear very helpful, ge credit who treats me like the criminal.  I have been able to reach some of the companies listed and all purchases where for e-mailed gift cards which I've never even heard of.  It's so hard to keep a fair credit rating these days on my own, I don't need some hack destroying everything I try to do right.  Any further ideas on what I can do or stop this from happening again.

Sorry - no too computer savy and have no idea how this happened since I have top of the line security on everything.
