Just got a call... Sounded suspicious. The man appeared to have info on my balances. Hedidnt know why they were calling. I'm curious to hear if anyone has any luck taking this up with macy's.

After reading a few posts on this message board & realizing that my husband has a Macy's account, I can see why we keep getting this call. The fact they leave no message or even wish to state their business, is odd. If the caller ID feature showed them as Macy's, we'd have picked up the phone long ago & ended this phone game. Too bad they are using underhanded methods to contact card holders.

I get calls from 513-573-8031 several times a week; when I pick up no one is there.  I finally decided to check the number on the Internet and found I was not the only one.  Thanks everyone for posting.

Yes I received numerous calls from this number today and on this last time I answered and the lady, who sounded countrified, said she was from Macy's and they were calling to say "Thank you for the payment", I said okay waiting for something else and she said "Well, thank you" and hung up.  I thought this was really strange.  And after reading these post I think I will also close my account with them, so I don't have them calling me anymore.

We're getting the same calls after paying 1 day late.  Even though we now have paid the bill in full including late fees and interest the calls go on.

02/01/11 and the minimum due is $75.00 including past due for $25.00.

Our Collections department issues courtesy calls to customers whose accounts have become past due. These courtesy calls are to inquire as to why the payment has not yet been received, to ensure there is no error with the customer's information, if a statement has not been received, or if payment assistance is required. Unfortunately, the account will remain in the system until a payment is received. For assistance, please call our Collections department at 1-866-593-3926.


They don't even know when an account is paid in full.  Best advise:  Don't shop at Macys and avoid the illegal calls.

called from this number twice today and no message.  Call must stop ASAP or Fed must take action.

The reason they have been calling us 3 times a day is to let us know that we accidentally paid our bill to the old account. Macy's just recently issued American Express credit cards. We pay online and forgot to set up the new information and sent the money to the old destination. They got the payment, but needed our permission to transfer it to the new account. I also contacted them from macy's.com site and told them about this funky phone number that keeps calling us. If you go to their official site, you'll see they are in Mason, OH. The  (513) 573-8031 number is NOT listed, but an (800) number is.

My case is much the same.  I called the number back and got a Macy's call center in India.  I refused to give out more than my phone number and the man said he could not help me, but that the calls must be automated.  When I answer there is no one there.  I asked if I could have this taken care of through a store location and he said they absolutely would help me.  I'll repost if it works.  I want this stopped.  They called 5 times on CHristmas day!!!

MASON,OH, they call me day and night. today 1/12/11 it's 2:25PM. they had called 6 times.  this is harrasment. I got a call at 8:30AM. another at about 9:30PM. if it is really Maacys

Received 5 calls this morning and has no message...apparently from Macy's but I've never been to Macy's...so annoying

KEEPS CALLING AND WHEN I PICK UP THE DROP THE CALL AND DON'T SAY ANYTHING. SO STUPID OF THEM.

Starting getting calls in December from this number, I have an elderly mother afraid to answer the phone.  Finally was home to take down the number and when I picked up no one was on the line.  And they never leave a message.

This number calls all the time and then leaves no message. Please block!!!

The caller has called multiple times, but never leaves a message. After three calls in a row during the span about an hour I finally answered the phone, and asked who was calling. The caller demanded I tell her my name, but refused to identify herself, so I refused to tell her who I was either. The caller was quite rude.

I have been getting these same calls and not answering on and off for a couple of months.
Today, however, they sent a photo of a black man with several teeth missing and the caption, "Your Boyfriend".

I was late with a Macy's payment one time, which has been taken care of some time ago now.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I am deffinately calling Macy's to complain and possibly close my account. I don't want to deal with a company that has anything to do with this.

This number calls, it seems like, every hour or two from about 8 AM until almost 10 PM every day, weekends included and never a message.  It's probably only 6 or 7 times a day.  Irritating to say the least. I refuse to answer as the Caller ID only says "Ohio call".

Yeah, they're relentless...thank God for caller ID and answering machines. If I do answer this line, I will answer it "County Morgue."
