Okay, I'm not under the employment of these guys or anything, I just know how technology works.

Let's take the ol' wayback machine to 1983. I'm sure some of you were alive back then, yes? A movie came out, called Wargames. Remember that movie? Remember how the nerd found a way to dial into the supercomputer? That's a technique called "wardialing". The computer dials a set of randomly generated phone numbers, looking for any pickups that have a computer at the other end.

This is how telemarketers, etc, get your phone number. It isn't some vast conspiracy where your phone company is selling your phone numbers (did you think phone scammers would actually pay for something they could get for free?).

It's a random number dialer. Which is why one of the most popular tools on the phone customer's end is a simple box (I forget what it's called), that when you program it to activate on the caller ID of the offending caller, will play that old three tone disconnect sound from the phone company, which is what their software listens for. When it picks up those tones, it automatically scratches you off the list.

Again, I don't know what the box is sold as, I just know it exists.

Here's a listing for Bruce Fohr in Tucson, head of FMR. It's the only listing for that name in Tucson, but I haven't called yet to confirm that its the FMR guy. Good bet it is, though. I'll wait for dinnertime in AZ to call.

My only problem with phone calls from this # is that when I get to answer the call it is silent and then does this little 3 toned beep, and the call ends. I don't mind surveys, so if that is what it is that would be ok, but to have it be nothing is more annoying. Especially since I get them quite frequently.

Here's an idea: Why not call Tucson police and complain of nuisance calls? I am definitely going to try that.

The thought just hit me...FMR does business in Tucson AZ.  Why don't we complain to the Tucson Better Business Bureau?
Maybe a call to Tucson City Hall, which would have issued a business license to FMR , could have an effect.

When I call Bruce Fohr's listed number, there is either a busy signal or recorded message, but no opportunity to leave a message. Apparently he only turns on his phone to make a call.

When I answered, they just hung up.

Google FMR in Tucson AZ. Call the number listed on their page. Request that your number be removed. I haven't received another call from them, so at least it seems like this works.

And "Get Even Legally" is a legitimate person who has a legitimate right to have their privacy protected. When did your handle come off?

The DNC does not cover survey's unless they try to sell you goods or services at the end of the survey <-- a excuse to try and get around the DNC.   It also does not cover charities or political calls.

However, they can still get into trouble for not placing you on a internal DNC when asked, you can also check your states laws in regards.  Some states have different laws in regards to the calls,  which can differ from the federal.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or less. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Hey ML, the whole point of the DNC list is to avoid creeps like you who make unwanted invasions of our privacy simply because you know how to dial and speak. If you don't want rude people in your life, as BillO says, take a shower, get an education and get a real job! Leave off trying to drag information out of people who wish not to be disturbed at home you stupid scumbag.

Sorry, but if I answered all the unsolicited phone calls I received to ask to be taken off a call list I would be on the phone all day. There is still the United States mail. Send that stuff along with the rest of the junk mail. Then I can walk it to the recycling bin where it belongs.

Unwanted call from fmr @ 5202903741 called and said nothing.  Telemarketing/scam caller

i just received a call from these people. they said that they were taking a 'radio survey' and i told them i couldn't participate in their survey because i work in radio.. then the caller asked me about something i couldn't make out. when i asked her to repeat it she said ' do you speak english ?' ..i said exCUSE me ?' she said' i said ' do YOU speak ENGLISH ' ? ' i said ' do YOU ?'
and she started to say something and then hung up. rudest call ever..

I received a call from the above mentioned telephone number. No message was left. Callback using the *67 prefix reaches a constant busy signal.

Dead air with a soft beep and a click.  Reported on the Do Not Call site as a robocaller.  Please do the same to do your part to get this scum out of everyone's lives.
