Someone will call you, your relatives, friends, somehow they have numbers of people connected to you.  They say they are a special investigator, Terrell Jones and that someone has filed a compaint against you.  They will then give you the claim and affidavit number, tell you that you have been named a respondent in a court action and must appear. The so called order also involves a restraining order (?).  They give you or your attorney 24 to 48 hours to respond and then end the message with Good Luck!  They leave you a number to call back which goes to "Central Processing Services" and then music plays forever.  I never got a person to answer so I could curse them out, but I'm trying. This call is from a Pennsylvania number, cell phone.  Do not call it back or respond!  Go to your local Sheriff or Police office and file a complaint.  Until enough complaints are filed, no enforcement will take place.  Extremely annoying.  I simply told all of my friends and family to tell them I died.  We'll see if that works.

They told me the same thing same information , which it happens about 24 hours ago.

We received that same message as above except it was from "special agent James."  We got an extra message included after the initial one saying there was a restraining order filed against us!  That last comment was enough to let me know this was some type of scam.  On the caller ID it came up as unknown caller.

I have received harassing messages over the last few years. My information is "out there" and I've learned to live with it. I just received a call about this today, and called the number that was given to me. Do NOT give them any money - they are harassing you, and have no right to do so. Even if you may think that you owe money, don't do it.

I highly recommend reading it and reporting them online.

Ways to handle the scammers: CALL BACK the number they give you to call and let them know that everytime they call you, you are taking down their information and reporting it to the FBI, FTC and your local police. That it is illegal for them to harass you, and you will continue to file complaint against them each time they call you.

"IF they do not provide you with the verification of the debt, the debt is invalid and not subject to collection.  PAY NOTHING TO ANYBODY UNLESS THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT, AND ONLY THEN IF YOU FEEL THE DEBT IS VALID - otherwise, let them sue you for the debt, as a real law firm will only bring a legal action on a truly valid debt".

I received a message on my home answering machine today from 570.983.0544.  The caller did not speak very well however words that were audible were "investigator" "someone filed a complaint against me" "restraining order" "warrant".  Now I personally take this as a threat.  Have no idea who the message was for.  For $7.25 or whatever minimum wage is I suppose calling themselves special investigator gives some sort of pride in their job.  Most bill collectors make commission off of what they collect so there are no limits in what they will say.  This was a female caller and I can only imagine she doesn't make much of a living since she can not or does not speak very well over a telephone.  I do not owe anything so if they have my number they have been misinformed.  If they call again, I will give the information to the U.S. Attorney

These people have called my family and my job! I owe no one anything and they are threatening me with court for an invalid debt.

They called and left a VOICE MAIL on a friends box. He called himself a special investigator, Robert Jordan (which obviously doesn't exist at this company) and that someone has filed a complaint against me, (if this was REAL, a sheriff or an legal apointed representative of the COURTS will show up to your home/place of employment to SERVE you these documents) left the "claim/affidavit" number.He said that I have been named a respondent in a court action and must appear. The so called order also involves a restraining order and that I should contact my attorney withing 24/48 hours- NONE OF THIS INFORMATION WOULD BE DISCLOSED BE IT A REAL AND LEGAL MATTER!!!

Well, I called back this number, the 1st time, the lady was really rude, she placed me on hold then hung up on me and the 2nd time after being on hold with the music for over 5min- the unnamed lady, whom refused to tell me her name told me that they are looking for payment to a pay day advanced which I took from Bank of America about a year ago... negative. The lady whom did not want to disclose her name to me said that they will continue to investigate, I told her that they can do as they please,I am not paying for something that I am not responsible for.

Poor people that actually fall for this. For those of you that didn't know, no one can disclose YOUR personal information with ANYONE else, other than yourself, unless with prior written consent. These people will go to the extreme of HARASSING people that you don't even know and putting pressure on those that do know you because they think you're in trouble. PLEASE ALERT YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING so they do not fall victim to these people. SPREAD THE WORD.

got the same message a little while ago thought what the h is this about looked up number only to find complaint after complaint about them   i say we all get a lawyer together and sue them for false representation unfair practices and harrasement,,, along with imtimadation tactics, and undue stress w/ anxiety.

My ex just received one of these calls for me. Thank goodness i looked the # up online. I knew I didn't owe anyone and I was (never been) in any trouble.

I received one of these phone calls this evening. The person said they were a  special agent and i am a respondent in a court case and have to show up in court. I haven't taken any action as of yet, not sure what to do. Really scared the crap out of me, though.

I received one of these phone calls on my cell phone and home phone; one right after the other.. The person said they were a  special agent and i am a respondent in a court case and have to show up in court.He gave me a court case number or something to that effect and said there was a restraining order with this and gave me this number to call back. Also, said to give the information to my attorney and we had 24 hours to take care of the matter.  I am not behind on any bills and live a very boring life and therefore, no one would need a restraining order.  They are scammers! I will not call back. I will report this to the Federal Trade Commission. I am even on the DO NOT call list!

Recd this call as other have listed.  I tried to reach out to them and of course as with the other emails listed go into the abyss of nothing but music. very terrifying.

I totally agree with you, someone has to stop this madness. it's ridiculous that they can get away with harassing people that OWE NOTHING.

How did they help you? By telling you that you OWED money for a PAY DAY LOAN, if you gave these people any sort of your money, YOU LOST THAT money. They aren't going to return that money to you or apply it to anything that you OWE, if you gave them YOUR BANK ACCOUNT or CREDIT CARD NUMBER- CLOSE THOSE ACCOUNTS, they will suck you DRY. They are not a LEGAL COLLECTION COMPANY.

I was clueless! Obviously,  i know that i have a debt in collection but taking care of that still through the collection agency. But this call i am still very confused about. I called and it just led to music...is it a scam?

This is totally a scam they called me saying i owed for a unpaid cash advance which i have never ever had a cash advance, they wanted my bank account number and could give me no exact dollar amount just a guesstimate.  They will call from blocked numbers and if you call that number 24 hours later it is a non-working number, dont give them any info or bank info
