- Call type: Debt collector
- jfThey have called a number of times after 8 pm mountain time. Who ever it is never leaves a message and when I tried to call right back after I got the call all I got was answering machine. Doesn't sound really professional to me if they can't even answer the phone when I call right back.
- JL| 1 replyThese people called me 4 times today and I have no outstanding debts. I used to work in debt collections so I know all the laws and when I contacted them to advise that they had broken the law after they called me the 3rd time they said I need to update my records. I hung up and called my father who is a trainer for a major collection agency in NY and I was right, after I got off the phone with my dad they called yet again. If they were an actual collections agency they would know the law to stop at 2 contacts to the HP.

Told me I have to pay in full or they will take a lean on the house and they will call every single family member untill I pay. I said I would pay payments and they said no. I said I can consoldate this with other bills they said no. They said they will only receive it in full with two payments. If I can pay in full with two payments I would not be in collection.

- STOP THE MADNESS!!Found some interesting info on the internet that might be of interest to all that receive calls from this company.
1. As recent as 1998, they paid a civil penalty of over $1 million for repeated violations of the Fair Debt Collections Protection Act (FDCPA) and have entered into two consent decrees. Which they obviously don't follow. Do a google on Nationwide Credit and look for the link that takes you to the FTC website.
2. Part of the consent decree states that all their employees must receive training on the FDCPA. (Which I seriously doubt happens since they still continue to violate the FDCPA.)
3. In conducting my research one website actually has some manager and Vice President of Nationwide telling a debtor that they committed credit card fraud in obtaining the account! (Sound familar?)
If this has happened to you file a complaint with the FTC and the State Attorney General in your state. Although your one complaint won't do anything imagine what will happen when everyone with interaction with this company complains? Can you say another million dollar fine by the FTC? And I believe the FTC has a rule that repeated violations will eventually prevent a company/person from conducting debt collections ever again. I read a lawyer was disbarred and a collection agency that can never conduct consumer debt collections for repeated violations. So don't complain do something about it!!!- Call type: Debt collector
- CA's-are-Losers| 1 replyIdiot losers call several times a day, won't leave message.
Folks, don't be afraid of these morons. Anyone morally deficient to be a "collector" is a heartless slime ball, a loser who couldn't function in "normal" society. Screw them. Read this website, and others, learn your rights, and crush these cockroaches. They are liars and thieves, one and all.
A few years ago I feasted on many checks from them for FDCPA violations, you can, too. :-)

- CA's-are-Losers| 1 replyThese fools have called several times a day lately. Guess they never heard of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act-look it up, folks, educate yourself and know your rights. Then when these idiots screw up, as they always do, you can collect a nice fat check -$1,000 for EACH violation- as I've done in the past. They're bottom feeders, unfit for anything but scavenging ages old debt files in search of crumbs. No, "K", you don't have a pine cone for a heart, if you do this work you have NO heart. Shame I don't owe any more debt, I'd love to take YOUR money. Clowns, low lifes and rejects, one and all...

- debt collector replies to CA's-are-Losers| 2 repliesJudgemental much? I am not any lesser of a person than you are. I am a single parent trying to support myself and my son. Everyone has a job that they have to do. Not all debt collectors are the monsters that you make us out to be. FDCPA is easy to follow, I do it everyday... I also remember that there is another human on the other end of the phone, not some "Debtor low life" or "dead beat"~ ugh, I feel horrible typing that. How can you live with all that hate in your heart??
- CA's-are-Losers"debt collector", read the entries above to see why your kind is so universally despised. You lie, threaten, harrass, intimidate to collect from people who already know they're hurting, then you pigs pile on. Read "k"'s condescendingly sneering posts-what a little maggot that one is! Don't you feel embarressed when people ask you what you do? I'll bet you lie, and say something like "customer support", right? And it's just SO easy to despise your "profession", no strain at all. Shame I keep missing these calls from your autodialer, I'd just love to lure them into FDCPA violations at $1,000 each, with each call recorded, every letter certified, every violation documented, off to Municipal Court we go!
Get a job at McDonalds, at least it's an honest living...- Caller: Nationwide Credit
- debt collector| 8 repliessorry, mcdonalds isnt going to pay my bills. According to FDCPA we are not allowed to lie. That is one of my favorite parts of my job. I hate lies. I am proud to be one of the people that HELPS get America out of debt. I work with people, not against them. Most people don't realize that they have a delinquant account out there, others clearly avoid it. I do not judge~ it's not my job. Being a debt collector isn't a walk in the park. Do you think that everyone should rack up bills and never pay them? Do you think it's ok to steal? It's all about responsibility. I pay my bills. I may not be able to offord to buy my 3 year old a bike, or go to college, but my rent is paid.
