Why would I want to work with you at Burger King? Oh, wait, you probably don't have a job.
Debt collections is a stressful and terrible job but someone has to do it. Without us this country would be swallowed by debt and losers everywhere will get away with stealing money from our clients.
If some one stole from YOU, wouldn't you want that person to at least TRY to attempt to pay you back... or, would you say, "Oh, don't try to call that person that stole my money, we might make them feel bad about robbing me." And you people wonder why we have to be assertive and aggressive. Duh.

"Inside", you call what you [***] do being "assertive and aggressive?"
You trash go WAY beyond that, harrassing people at all hours of the day and night, never correcting false info on your computer screen, violating FDCPA rules like crazy, always acting like you're superior in morality to anyone you call, when the truth is quite the opposite: you and your kind are low life bottom feeder scum, stupid little "hired guns" acting all bad and terrible, trying to intimidate and frighten the poor people you call. You're ALL losers, or you'd find a more socially beneficial job.But you stay there, fool, you belong in that "stressful and terrible job". Pray you don't lose it, or your brethren collector idiots will be calling YOU!

I feel no pity for people that refuse to make an effort. You all like to point fingers and blame the world for the problems that YOU create. There are people that are living off of social security that make payments on their bills. What is wrong with you people? You are losers. Get up off your butts and get a job. www.hotjobs.com
I am a debt collector. I enjoy my job now. Thank you for giving me the necessary insight that I needed to harden myself to the lies and sob stories that spew out. Can't wait to talk to you.

Renewed, you just admitted you've sold sour soul to the Devil. Admit it, you know literally NOTHING at all about the circumstances of the people whose phone number and alleged debt appears on your computer screen. Sure, there's a very small minority of people who intentionally try to get over on the system, but 95% + have struggled mightily to be honest and responsible, paying their debts as they go. Maybe they lose their jobs, or health, and get overwhelmed and just can't make ends meet. For you to make a blanket judgement that "You are losers" is truly ignorant. If you'd finished high school maybe you would have learned some manners. Judas that you are, you've now convinced yourself of the righteousness of what you do-for money, not principle. Now you're a true dollar [***], like the rest of your disgraceful, thieving, lying scum sucking bottom feeder [***] collectors."Harden" yourself all you want, you're a lost soul now, unfit to associate with the rest of humanity.Shame on you, and the abomination you call a "profession"...

You don't know anything about me. Just because I am a debt collector. I do not treat anyone like dirt, even when I am sworn at. My heart nolonger goes out to these people. If you want to know about hardship, I have lived it. There is nothing that I haven't experienced. If that makes me a [***], (lol) then so be it! Lies, that is mostly what I hear. I feel no sympathy for liars. NONE. Suffer, little piggy.

No, Renewed, I'm not the one chained to a desk letting a machine make a thousand calls a day for me, while some sadistic manager pressures me all day for results. That's you, sad little person. You know secretly you hate what you do, but need the money, just like all the people you call all day do.So you've sold out for the dollar. Don't pretend to be some righteous moral crusader saving Western Civilization by collecting unjust losses for your Masters. You know in your heart what you do is disgusting, abusive and unworthy of any honorable person. Look around you, at the psychotics and sadists you're surrounded by. Do the right thing-regain your soul by quitting, find something that contributes to the world, not adding more misery to it.  You know you want to. Become a normal human being again. Come on, you can do it!

Monday morning again, Renewed. Didn't you just dread the thought of going into that mad house of ringing phones, ranting and delerious psychopaths shouting and threatening people, the pressure of managers hovering around with their menacing stares while urging you to make quota for the day? Yeah, I guess I'd suffer too if I was stuck in that hell. What were your honest thoughts when you looked in the mirror this morning-"Oh god, I hate that place and all those [***]!" Oh well, only 40 more hours of torture until the weekend. That must seem like an eternity, huh? Funny thing, if you do return to humanity by quitting, the slime you work for now will forget you ever existed in 2 minutes, don't believe they care a damn about you as a person. These creatures have NO heart, didn't you know? Enjoy your day, I certainly will.  :-)

Actually, this morning I looked in the mirror and thaught, wow, I look hot today! New outfit, new red highlights in my hair... I work 2 jobs, so I don't get any days off. It felt good to come in today. I feel better about my job. I kind of like it, actually. The truth of the matter is that I help people get out of debt. I am able to offer settlmnts now and that is nice because I can meet people half way. My job really isn't so bad, it is what you make of it. I follow FDCPA and handle every call differently. My job is fast pace and the time goes by fast. Plus I have the internet to look at while I wait for a call. Thanks for writing.

Bravo, Renewed! A facade of professionalism-merely a pretense, of course, but far better than "Suffer, little piggy."So now you're a public servant, assisting the great unwashed masses in rehabilitating their credit histories? No, honey ("I look hot today! New outfit, new red highlights in my hair"...assuming feminity, but with these freaks who can tell?), you're no social worker. But it's good you can at least try to rationalize something constructive while under their whip all day. Maybe you're that unique person whose basic humanity isn't destroyed by becoming a bottom feeder. Maybe not, have to be fundamentally deeply flawed to do what you do. Too bad, but maybe there's still hope for you. I'll pray. ;-)

Thank you for not judging me too harshly. We all have a job to do. Trust me when I tell you that I am not a big jerk. The only times I get aggressive on the phone to other people is when they treat me terribly. Also, I tend to get a little firm with the folks that make no efforts to resolve anything and live off of their friends and family. Yes, and parents that refuse to take a message for their children. Lets not forget the people that steal another person's identity. Legally, an individual is responsible for a debt until they either file a police report or go through the dispute procedure. It's aweful calling 80 yearold people that have had a loved one use their info to get a credit card or cable. These are the people that bring out the mean debt collector inside.

Renewed, how could you possible know any of this:"Also, I tend to get a little firm with the folks that make no efforts to resolve anything and live off of their friends and family."? All you see are account numbers, and amounts allegedly owed. Your task is simply to collect money, not provide counseling. You may fool yourself into a fantasy in which you "help" people, and maybe you need to do that for your own survival, but don't pretend to be some great humanitarian. You're a BILL COLLECTOR. You sound like the child molestor who says he's really a nice guy except for that one little flaw.
Collectors richly deserve the hatred and anger they get because of their own conduct.Putting a necklace on a pig doesn't make it a princess-it's still a pig. Just like bill collectors...

Lol! If only you knew. If you really want an inside look, that can be arranged. Living in an alternate reality is a luxury that I do not indulge in. Sorry to dissappoint, but I am what I am. When there is an opportunity to help an individual, I do it. I have internet access all day, everyday. I give people all the necessary information that I legally can in order to resolve the debts. It is not important that you beleive me. I am not a bottom feeder. I am a flesh and blood individual doing my job. Unlike most people, it is my goal to help make this world a better place, one debter at a time.

Sorry, Renewed, but your fellow do-gooders have made your job universally despised and hated, a reputation even worse than IRS tax people. NO ONE wants to hear from any of you. I'll bet people are just deliriously happy to hear from you, aren't they? How do you "help an individual"? Arrange a payment plan for a debt that may not in fact be theirs? Why are your own records so wrong so many, many times, causing innocent people to be harrassed by commission-hungry phone predators? So you "make the world better" by collecting money from people you know nothing about, just names and numbers on a computer screen? Nonsense. You know you've overheard all kinds of terrible conversations-threats, demands, arrogant attitudes-if your co-workers called YOUR mother like that, how would you feel? Don't wonder why people hate your kind. Keep self-justifying what you do, because the minute you allow anything else you'll run out that door in shame and never come back...

My mother pays her bills. I agree with you to an extent. You have an ignorant mentality that probably keeps you from making friends. There are innocent people that get caught in the crossfire. There isn't much that I can do about that. I make sure that wrong #s are removed in a timely mannor, ect. I am not ashamed of what I do, there are much worse proffessions out there. This is only one of my jobs. I have 4 all together. People are people. Some are rotten and evil, I am not. I truely love myself and I know that my heart is untouchable by cheap shots from strangers. You make me laugh, thank you. I hope that you have a nice day and that you develop the ability to accept the things that cannot be changed. You will find that life is more rewarding that way.

Well, I guess I'm told! A bill collector tells me I have an "ignorant personality"! LOL, thanks for a good laugh! Would it surprise you to know that I have NO outstanding debts, receive NO dunning calls or letters, own my home, and have a healthy income? I only discovered this place because your idiot brethren kept calling by mistake, and wouldn't stop. The interaction between humans and collector monsters is amusing, as you are in all your posing and pretense. At least we can agree that we make each other laugh, yes? Now go back to torturing defenseless old people, widows and orphans, and killing small mammals.
Winston Churchill was drunk at a government party once, and a lady was offended.  She told him,"Sir, you're drunk and rude!" Churchill looked at her and said, "Yes, madam, I'm drunk. But in the morning I'll be sober, and you'll still be ugly!" And tomorrow, I'll be happy, and you'll still be a collector...  ;-)

My life is good, took years of hard work to get to this point. So you WOULD torture beasts if they owed debts? I heard the racoon down the street owes some old debt, check him out.
