I have had numerous calls with hang-ups. Will make a complaint to local police dept.

ha HA... i was gone for the week... week i got home i had 37 messages from this number... well just the sound of them hanging up... lol... i closed my amex account months ago...

Amex will call you & ask you to provide personal info. It is the security team that is calling to make sure you are a valid person or to vfy you have the ability to pay your bill per the cardmember agreement. They will also ask you to fax them 2 yrs of fin info including your tax returns, copy of the your d/l ect. They will also canc your account as collection if you did not provide them the documents they are requesting..

If they are looking for an amex card #, they won't find one at my house. No reason to call here.

Dude, good luck! It's probably been stolen 10x over again...They were verifying as much as they could while they had you on the phone. THAT is how IDs are stolen.

Have any of you ever read your posts? If they ask you for information, it's a scam. If they already have your information, it's a scam. If they speak English, it's a scam.

This is American Express collections calling about a past due account. They make mistakes, and might have somehow associated my Centurion card with your phone number; they can correct it. But it's really them - think through it.

it's a legitimate number. AMEX gave me this number, its their "verification" department. Their wait time is freaking long, though

Came up Unknown,  the number in the voice-mail was 800-555-4318  said she was from Serve or Surf from America Express to verify information from an application they received for me  ( I would never apply as I know my credit is terrible and I would never be accepted).  I suspect its a tellamarketer or something but I think they called not only my cell phone but my google voice line.  The timing of the 2 calls was with in minutes of each other.  I have not given my google voice number as a primary number in at least 3 years so it would not be on an application for me either.

Called Amex just got a call from this number and Amex said it was NOT theirs. They checked my
Info and said they did NOT call me.

This number has called our office asking for the person who handles our merchant services account.  Instead of a name, a different phone number (6025379012) shows up on caller ID.  This IS AMEX calling on behalf of another customer of theirs (they are not calling us about OUR Amex).  This other customer paid my company using their Amex card.  It was a large bill they were paying and they did it by phone so we did not have a signature.  THAT is why they are calling.

Although why the caller ID doesn't SAY AMEX is beyond me.

I confirmed with American Express that this is a SCAM!!

Got 2 calls and they left messages each time claiming they are Amex. Called amex and reported the number. It seems to be a pretty complex scam.

Left several msg from a Daniel Martin from American Express for me to call back on 623-492-6031, didn't say why. I called the main Amex number and they verified it is not them and they have no records of anyone trying to reach me.
