Apparantly, Bank of America did an inquiry into my credit report (Transunion).  The number listed to contact to Bank of America is 800-421-2110.  Apparantly, there are some scam artists using this number....I can't seem to get anyone to respond to it.

    Curious
As reported by another posting, this is the number to call on the back of my Bank of America credit card. Please note that I have another Bank of America credit card with a different number as well.

This ph number does belong to BOA.

1-800-421-2110 is a legit number.  However the number they originally called you from probably isn't.  I got a call from 302-457-5242 from a "Bianca".  I asked for another number that I could call her back on to verify that who I was calling was not a scam.  She gave me the 800-421-2110 number.  Clever, since that is a real number for BOA.  I anticipate a call back from her at any time, unless my unwillingness to provide her with any information made me a less desirable target.  I called the number on the back of my bankcard, so I knew it would be a real number, and I asked them to verify the information given.  No "Bianca" works for the BOA credit department, nor is 302-457-5242 anywhere on the BOA directory, plus there were no remarks on my account as to why the would be calling me.  Only thing that checked out was the 800-421-2110 number.  Good luck

This is not Bank of America, but rather a phishing scam.

The number is fake.  Note the multiple shill postings claiming the number is genuine - a sure sign of a fraud being promoted - same type of scam as the old email phishing frauds, but they've moved on to try and use the phones now that everyone is aware of email phishing scams.

Didn't answer (never do, if don't know #). Message stated Wws someone named "Mei Ching"; couldn't understand anything else he said + am glad I did not pick up. The 800 phone number is on the back of my BOA credit card-but is an automated voice when you call, as others have stated + you can clearly understand their representatives. Am guessing this is the type of scam others have stated here- where it looks like it is coming from # 800-421-2110, but is not actually coming from that number.

Was having a problem using online banking transfers between in-house accts in April.  Reported it to BoAmer. and found they "had gone through an upgrade" which should have corrected the problem. Then got calls from 800-421-2110 and a "Bank of America tech" - he suggested installing Google Chrome; which, he said, should eliminate my problem.  Did so; but, after reading some of the other postings here, now wonder if I've compromised my computer.  He allso gave a 'direct line number' which the 'tech' said would reach him directly. As much as I dislike to do so, I'll have to report this to Bank of America because when I checked his 'direct line' number, it was listed for Phoenix, AZ. Stupid is as stupid does....  :-(

Their line appears to be crossed with ours.  We have received numerous calls from Bank of America cardholders thinking they are calling Member services.  I called the 1-800-421-2110 number myself to report what was happening and was immediately asked for my card number.  No company name given.  I called AT&T to report it and was told it was scamming.  We are telling the people who continue to call us by mistake that they are being scammed and to not give any information and to call the police immediately.

Left no message but I have gotten several blocked calls this morning just prior. They will do anything to get one to answer even assaulting my phone with 4 calls or 2 calls at the same time so that my service will let them through. They didn't get through so then they use this fake name.

Caller identified this as an automated call from Experion on behalf of Capital One, Chase,  and Citibank. That it was an automated call placed by Experion as I was eligible to have reduced credit card rates. "Rachel" gave the intro speech. Company finally identified as Card Member Services, financial department. Gentleman had an Indian accent.

This is the number that I dial to call which is on the back of my BofA Visa card. So it is legit to Call Them with. I have never RECEIVED a call from this number, though. Looks like the scammers are getting creative, according to others here. I never answer calls I'm not sure of who is calling, but now in this case, you might think you know who it is, and yet, it could be a scam? Terrific! But you know most of the time when it is a scam, because they won't leave a message. How important or legit can it be, if they hang up? Thanks, everyone.
