- William replies to CWG40| 1 replyMany of these complaints mention POF - Plenty Of Fish.
That site advertises occasionally on 800notes. - Steven replies to mattLiterally just got the call today I went along with his [***] saying the same exact thing you wrote dude. Did my own research actually talked to the real detective of the name he used and called him back got all his bank information that he wanted me to transfer the money too and then I just took it all and faxed it to the real detective 😂
- joseph replies to David| 1 replyHello!!! Can somebody please tell me what's gonna happen!? Have that found any new evidence?? I need help to track these guys!!!
- Gary replies to David| 1 replySame exact thing happened to me today. I received a call from a 803-206-1848 claiming to be a Officer Shetler (Spelling?) with the York County Sheriffs Department. Same deal as all the others; Supposed underage girl, Mother in a panic, suicidal daughter,Father willing to work out peacefully if I paid their hospital/therapy bills to the mother via Money gram from a Walmart. Being stationed on the other side of the country this pops a red flag for me and it brought me here.
- Relieved| 7 repliesI just went through this exact scam yesterday. Mine started on SKOUT with a girl named Lacey Knight. She sent me nude photos and said she was going to send me a video. Nothing happened after that so I forgot about it. Next day I got a call from 803-218-8986, from an alleged "investigator Thomas Mills" from SC. I returned his call and left a message. He didn't return my call until the next day. He gave me the same story that Lacey's mother caught her making the video and took her phone. She supposedly got upset and slashed her wrists. She was allegedly in the hospital and needed surgery. The mother, Sherry Knight supposedly wanted me arrested however her husband, Michael Kyle Knight, an alleged pastor for a local church, was going to be running for office soon and didn't want something like this in the public and therefore was willing to work out a deal with me if I would talk to him on a conference call. We scheduled a conference call, which included investigator Mills, Mr. Knight, And Detective Rainey. There were definitely three different voices on the conference call. Mr. Knight stated his peace, saying that he understood Lacey is half at fault, therefore will only ask for half of her medical bills. Detective Rainey confirmed That he was not pressing charges, then both of them left the room. Investigator Mills then told me that the hospital bills we're going to be $2800, therefore they would except 1400 to make this all go away. He then told me there had been an account set up at the hospital for her medical bills and that I was to deposit the money by PayPal to account number 4104891187743983. Needless to say, the whole situation scared the daylights out of me, thinking I was going to prison for 15 years for something involving a minor. However, the story just didn't add up, so I spoke with an attorney friend, and he was able to determine that there's no such investigator or investigation firm in South Carolina called Neese and Mills Investigation. So far, before finding this post, I deleted my SKOUT account and all other similar accounts, deleted my Facebook altogether, and had my cell phone number changed. As it turns out none of that was necessary, but better safe than sorry. I DID NOT give them one penny.... Almost did though.
- Caller: Neese and Mills Investigation
- Anonymous replies to Relieved| 3 repliesI got the EXACT SAME STORY WORD FOR WORD.
Phone Numbers: 803-206-6548 (Lacey Knight Phone number supposedly)
and 864-982-5859 is the investigator's phone number.
I even got a fake bill from a hospital, it was super bad fake. (and how would they get a bill so fast? hospitals are slow).
Here's the medical bill:
http://tinypic.com/r/2a2q83/8 - Relieved replies to AnonymousThe person posing as investigator Mills somehow got my work number and called me on my work phone after I had changed my cell number. He was not happy I was avoiding him and is now threatening to contact my managers and to "publicize" this. I wish we could find this person and have them taken out of society.
- haha| 1 replyI've started to scam him back.
- Stevejust tell him you've forwarded his information to the FBI Cyber Terrorism Task Force.
- Drew| 18 repliesWOW! So glad I found you guys. I got the same call the other day only the "father's" name was Nathaniel Ford and the "detective" was Michael Tanner. I had literally submitted a moneygram to Tina Foster in Columbia (the person Mr. Ford said to send it to) when a light bulb went off in my head and I quickly canceled it before it could process. I had never sent any explicit pictures but good lord did they get my heart racing. Also the numbers were different. The calls I received were from 843-518-8681 and 843-640-8050. Also, Mr. Ford's "lawyer" sent me a "contract" via email from joebannonesqlawllc@gmail.com. What kind of self-respecting lawyer doesn't have his own domain? Either way, Joe Bannon Esquire does not exist nor does detective Michael Tanner. I literally called almost every sheriff's dept. and pd in SC. Other than those differences, SAME EXACT STORY. I happen to have a certain skill set and NSA connections with which I plan on finding these people with. Please get me any more info you can provide! Stay safe out there guys, the internet is a nasty place.
- daniel311 replies to AnonymousAlso from that same number his name is detective michael rainy
And the parents name changed
It is Kyle Rodgers and Sherri Rodgers and the supposedly girl is Jessica

- Drew replies to Bredo| 3 repliesBredo,
How did this happen to you? Any info you have could be useful! thanks! - Bredo replies to Drew| 2 repliesSo met a girl online, name was Lina, we exchanged text then she proceeded to ask me if I wanted to skype later. We don't Skype, I fall asleep, but next thing I know I have the same two phone numbers and "detective Michael tanner" and "Nathaniel ford" calling me telling me I need to call them asap. I call him, he goes through this whole slew of how his daughter has a condition and when her and her mother got into a fight this morning over her texting me she cut herself and now she is in the hospital. Time goes on and he's continuing to call me I finally am about to call him back he said I had two options, either they just press charges because the girl is supposedly 16 and I'm over 18 and whatever or I can agree to pay him $1500 to cover a quarter of her mrs bills right now. And he will have his lawyer write a contract. Well I don't have that kind of money on hand I told him I don't have that and he would have to give me a few days. And he proceeded to get very rude with me saying that if I can't come up with the money to "SAVE YOUR LIFE" as he yelled it then I can have fun in jail. Well I did nothing wrong, I know this, I'm not worried. I call the sheriff dptmt where the detective supposedly worked and he didn't exist. He calls me one last time and is frustrated because I haven't called him back and tells me he is on his way to meet with the detective blah blah blah I confront him he freaks out from being the "man of the lord" and "forgiving" person he says he was to cussing me up one side and down the other freaking out.
- TheGreatBuddha replies to BredoBeing a "detective" he should have known that what he was doing was trying to extort a bribe from you, two very serious felonies against him.
- Colin replies to Drew| 1 replyJust got this same story today. Also the same names were used. I attempted to send. Money gram but instantly cancelled it and called my local PD. Wow these guys are good actors or bad actors depending on how you look at it. They got my heart rate up that's for sure. These people need to go down.

Also report this guy to the LE he is trying to impersonate and the FBI @ IC3, the cyber crimes division. - BJ| 4 repliesThis scammer who claims to be a Detective Mike or Michael Rainey called from the number 803-388-8802... It shows its a landline in Prosperity, SC and the carrier is Deltacom, Inc. SCAMMER ALERT!!!!
- Caller: Scammer 803-388-8802
- Tamianth replies to BJIts extortion scamming. You should file a report with the agency he claims he if from. This isn't the first number we have seen this on over the last year. Sometimes they will go so far as to pretend to be a real one for said precinct or offices. So its very important to file those reports.
