Received an email saying Spectrum detected a problem with my service during routine maintenance and to call 833-778-2754 or click the link in the email to schedule an appointment. It seemed suspicious to me so I called Spectrum (on a number from their website). They had no record of sending an email or a problem detected with my service and believed it was a spoofing attempt.

Just recieved this message tonight saying we?ve detected an issue with your services.  Grammatical error makes this suspicious. My tv and internet are working fine, I have no problems with either.
Not calling the number.

Got an email saying during routine matinance they found a problem with my service to call 833 778 2754. The email had my name and acct #.  I still think it's a scam email.

I also received a text claiming there is an issue with my Spectrum service and to call 833-778-2754.  Did not call!

I called it scheduled an appointment and the spectrum service guy is at my house now.

Getting the same "issues" message and reminder message over the last week (3/31/2022 and 4/7/2022).  The number the test is coming from, 87598, is legit as I have received a verification code from it it in the past.  The scammers must be spoofing that number it to make you think it is legit.

They called on the same day two weeks in a row saying that they were Spectrum. They were not, in fact, Spectrum.

Sounds like a scam.  I got this same call with the same callback number three times in a row from UNKNOWN NAME on caller ID stating:  This is Spectrum, etc. and we need you to QUICKLY call back to schedule a service call that may cause a problem in the future.  Upon further questioning, I got NO satisfactory answers.  I live in a condo and if there were a problem other people would have received the same call.  NO ONE ELSE HAS!  Like I'm going to let a stranger in my place when there is NO issue!

I also received two text messages from spectrum, one week apart (March 31 and April 7), same message as the others have posted above. Strangely enough, I’ve received other text messages from this same number that were from spectrum, confirming when techs would arrive, asking for feedback about an appointment, etc. I guess someone cloned the number and is now using it to scam people.

I got the same text plus an email saying the same thing just now.  However, when I signed into my Spectrum account I had this message:
"Internet Status Connected - Your service looks good on our end. If you’re having issues, we can help you troubleshoot your service."

I just received this one too!  Definitely not making a call.

I contacted Spectrum directly about this because I too, thought it was a scam.  But they advised me that it is NOT a scam, it is legit.  They informed me that it is a valid email/text/call (they are sending out all 3). They said they have a proactive maintenance team and that they have flagged a signal issue coming into the home that requires a visit to correct. It is no cost. To schedule this proactive maintenance visit you would have to call into 833-778-2754. They are the dedicated team handling these appointments.  Again, I contacted Spectrum directly using their main number, not this number.  And they said yes, this is legit and the 833-778-2754 is the specific # for that Proactive Maintenance Team.

Ok I am really confused.  I contacted Spectrum DIRECTLY (not with this 2754 number) and they said it is legit.  They explained to me all about the program (new Proactive Maintenance team) and said it is NOT a scam.  But then I read these 7 pages here and there are 6 people that I've counted saying they have called Spectrum directly and been told it is a scam.  So then I go to the Spectrum website instead of calling directly this time, and I decide to do the Customer Service chat directly.  Again they tell me it is legit, not a scam.  So why are people coming here saying they were told it's a scam?  Just to be trolls and mess with people?  Or bored?  This is bizarre.  Why would 2 different random Spectrum employees lie to me and explain to me about this Proactive Maintenance program and all that if it was really a scam email?  Y'all are either trolling or you are just claiming you checked with Spectrum but really didn't bother.  Anyway I encourage everyone to call Spectrum directly and see for yourselves.

Right, because all of the other posters on here that ACTUALLY DID contact Spectrum and were told it was a scam are liars?  Nope, the only liars on here are you scammers.  Post reported for removal once again.

They called in the evening on my government free phone. Left a message. I didn't respond. Same thing as everyone else. Wanted me to make an appt. for service.

text from: "87598 - Spectrum: We've detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you."   Even though I have spectrum, was quite suspicious of this.  Apparently my suspicions are well founded.

SCAM!!!  Same message as everyone else.

I used the spectrum app 800 phone number instead and customer service told me nothing wrong with my service, so always use the app phone number, not the text number

I got a call telling me to call this number. Being unsure, I called the number on the spectrum website first, and they told me 833-778-2754 was a spectrum number. I then called, and they set me up with a technician appointment. They didn't require any personal information or credentials.

It's safe to call this number. If you don't believe me, give it a call and if they ask for anything you're uncomfortable giving out just hang up. Or you can do what I did and call spectrum first, just ask for internet service.

You guys are all weirding out for no reason. Definitely Spectrum. Definitely made the appointment. And they definitely resolved my data comm issues.
