Decinitely a scam.

Same as all of the above from 833-778-2754 for Spectrum.  I called the number, made an appointment for next Thursday.  THEN ....... I Googled the number & came here.  I called Spectrum & they said they never sent the text.  Furthermore, they said Spectrum would never need to enter my home to check out the connections.  When these spammers asked for my address, I told them they should already have my address.  It only took them 2 minutes to come up with my address (they Googled me?).  When I called them back to cancel the appointment, they said I didn't have an appointment.  So I hung up on them & blocked that number

Legit call. Spectrum came out & updated old Time Warner cable.  Guess you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

Be prepared to be called a "scammer" they  get triggered when you go against their confirmation bias. My post are still in moderator limbo land "post pending moderator approval"

I called Spectrum and they said it is a valid number. They are doing maintenance work that may cause a problem with service.

I received a few calls from 855-707-7328 and let it roll to my voice mail. They left same message as everyone reported and to call 833-778-2754 to schedule an appointment. I decided to call Spectrum Support at the number i always call 888-438-2427 and spoke to their tech support. They confirmed the 855 and 833 number are legit as well as the voice mail messages. It is a new group formed that is doing preventive maintenance before problem occurs for customers. Tech support said it is okay to call them to make an appointment. However, I still did not call them to schedule an appointment since my internet and cable are not having any issues.

Hi everyone! Not a scammer but wanted to let everyone know it is not a scam from this number. Unfortunately it is a new process and everything has not been updated yet. We have people who check areas for possible issues and find the accounts of customers who MIGHT be having possible issues. We reach out to those people via a phone call/ text if we cannot reach you to call this number. It can either be issues with your services or to upgrade any outdated eqipment/modems.

I too received the following message: Spectrum: We’ve detected an issue affecting your services. Please call 833-778-2754 today to schedule a service appointment at no cost to you.

I'm not recommending to call or not call but just wanted to share: The reason I thought it might be legit was that it was on the same text thread that was used when I first setup my account. I contacted Spectrum directly and inquired about the message and was told that it was a message that originated from Spectrum and that I am ok to call the number and schedule service. They said their maintenance department are the ones that find issues like this. My internet is working so not really sure what it is that they are seeing.

It boggles the mind how many people keep looking up a known phone number despite there being no logical reason to do so.

Got the same text from 833 778 2754 today, it's a scam!!!

@Ask_Spectrum on Twitter authenticates this phone number as a true Spectrum phone number.  I had avoided calling the number for similar reasons found on this site (800Notes).  I DM'd @Ask_Spectrum on prior occasions, it is a good way to get fairly quick responses to Spectrum general questions.

I got the same message but I called the actual spectrum number bc it came through on the same thread as o get other messages from them & they said yes they  detect a hiccup in my service but they couldn’t explain which one , I than said I have no issues . They connected me to that number to call , I refused tve appy like I have time .. and no issue … the next day I turned my computer on the internet was out &  I rebooted my internet modem , now all fine . So maybe it dies detect when it goes out - but it’s not a scam text - spectrum told me it’s something new they are doing .

Received email with same text as reported many times here, asking for reply to set up a "free service call" about my service. I will not bother checking further, I am certain Spectrum has nothing to do with it. Text here:

Not Spectrum number. Fake caller.

I called Spectrum's main number, instead of this number in the text, and this is legit.

I called our reg customer svc line.  She said this is real.  Its proactive maint.

How are you sure of this.  Our office says it is real

This is a real message for proactive maintenance, it's a real spectrum service # and was confirmed legitimate through the Spectrum technical support line

I was told when I called Spectrum this is for prev maint and its real.  I was not asked for my phone number or address - it already knew it when I called.
