Hello everyone, I’ve read all the posts and find the replies from Paul rather amusing.  This would apply to the telephone numbers 866-326-0949, 800-430-1965, 877-572-5714.

Paul, who is actually the owner of the company, Bryant Cass, sits in his office all day scouring sites like this pretending to be some low level employee.  All of their companies have such bad Internet blogs that they must try and do damage control, which explains all his recent posts.

“Auto Marketing Systems” is also thebiglot.com, autohopper.com , et al and all owned by Adventis, Inc. based in Roanoke, Virginia.  His other business partner, and brother, is Mason Cass.  I would contend that Messrs. Cass do not like to be called and hung up on.
Adventis does not “buy” leads at all – they simply have computers that pull numbers off the Internet, load them into their automated dialers and continuously call people all day long.  Their business model is predicated on leaving a message because they know this type of service does not sell well cold calling.  This explains why many of you get hung up on – the system hears you answer and then it disconnects.

The model of these clowns is simple – charge a fee, make a refund policy extremely difficult to follow and hope that a)Not many people apply for the refund and/or b)Make it difficult to “qualify”.

Let me again state that any notion that this company purchases leads is purely nonsensical and fraudulent advertising.   Their website(s) get very little web traffic and they only consumers who shop on their website are customers that end up buying their service – which amounts to not much web traffic.

Further, Adventis does not sell hardly any cars via their website.  I would estimate that out of 1,000 vehicles placed on their website less than 3 get sold due to their service.  Adding to their poor sales record, Messrs Cass know nothing about car values, car selling trends, buying/selling or the used car market in general.  They are counting on your naiveté– I hope this explanation keeps many more from becoming victims.

We all get emotional about selling our vehicle, but the best places to sell your vehicle these days remains AutoTrader (the highest trafficked website), eBaymotors, Cars.com and traditional print classifieds.  You may also do better advertising your vehicle in a larger market, but rest assured, if you spend $200-$400 with Adventis you will not sell your vehicle due to their service.

I’m sorry Mason and Bryant Cass, but Adventis, Longwood  and your methods of extorting money from the public must be made public knowledge.

Hey former #1... did you ever check Alexa the website measuring service?  Today it ranks thebiglot.com as the # 126,930 highest traffic website on the web.  And in the US it is # 28,523.

I don't do business with anyone who violates rules on  Craigs List.  They are probably a scam or at least unethical.  Companies like this work on a numbers game and make a lot of calls to find someone that has no experience. It is too bad that there are people like that in this world.  My business moto was taken from Zig Zigler who I quote " You can have everything you want in life if you just help enough people get what they want"  It is too bad there are not more people who are like this.  Some people are just in to take people and overcharge for services they might not even get.

There's also a guy name matt from the same company the call back is 866-326-9921 beware......... I didn't speak to him but they are smooth with their messages.

I recieved a voicemail from a number that was listed as "unavailable". The message was from "Matt" or "Longwood Inc" asking me to call him at 866 326 9921 because he could guarantee, for a small fee, that he could sell my car for me.

Anyone who says they have 16 to 20 very interested parties in my immediate area wanting a car "just like mine" and will pay full price, after I have had it well advertised and have had 2 ify calls......is a liar.

130 complaints in 36 months - that's quite a lot for a "legitimate" and "trustworthy" business!

Get real.  It's a total scam, and anyone with any common sense can figure that out.  I've heard the exact same voicemail from "Brad" posted online as the one I received today from "Matt" - in the exact same voice.  Give me a freakin' break.

I received a call from this company as well. The number did not show up on my caller ID when the call was placed to my cell phone. When I checked the voicemail, there was a message from "Matt" stating he has attempted to contact me before and is now leaving a message to let me know that this company could sell my car for me & put me in contact with buyer's looking for my type of car for a small fee. Well, I called the company back and was connected to a woman - When I asked to speak with "Matt" she said he "actually makes the out-bound calls for the company and she works on his accounts." She tried very hard to explain the outline of the company to me as well as the fee information. I asked if I would need to pay the fee first before I was given contact to the "buyers" and she replied "yes" - I then advised her that after reviewing information on Craigslist prior to posting my add, Craigslist states that ANY company or person requesting payment upfront before the services have been rendered is clearly a SCAM !!!! When I told her that this company is a SCAM, she "assured" me that is not. I'm glad I was NOT stupid enough to fall for this and I hope that other people aren"t as well. EVERYONE should have enough common sense to know that if a company is requesting an upfront payment without a prior contract or without any type of service rendered then it's a fraud. But for those who do fall for it, then they deserve to get taken advantage of... That's just how I see it.

I got a call GUARANTEEING the sale of my vehicle before the lady even knew what it was. Or where I lived. Or my name or anything. Not a go.

You say that Craigslist says ANY company or person requesting payment upfront before the services have been rendered is clearly a SCAM !!!!   I have not seen that.  Where is that information posted? And what about your local newspaper or Auto Trader?  They make you pay upfront... are THEY scams?

Scam is the most over-used and misused word in the English language.  I don't know how long they've been in business, but if it's been more than a year or two, why haven't they been shut down if it is such a scam?  I was called by them also, and they said they would send me a receipt for the service.  Did you bother listening to them or was your mind made up it was a scam?

You can sidestep would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules:

DEAL LOCALLY WITH FOLKS YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on craigslist.
NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM or any other wire service - anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.
FAKE CASHIER CHECKS & MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON, and BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE when the fake is discovered weeks later.
CRAIGSLIST IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer "buyer protection" or "seller certification"
NEVER GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFORMATION (bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.)
AVOID DEALS INVOLVING SHIPPING OR ESCROW SERVICES and know that ONLY A SCAMMER WILL "GUARANTEE" YOUR TRANSACTION

inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
Western Union, Money Gram, cashier's check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a "guarantee"
inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consumating transaction

Examples of Scams
1. Someone claims that craigslist will guarantee a transaction, certify a buyer/seller, OR claims that craigslist will handle or provide protection for a payment.

These claims are fraudulent, as craigslist does not have any role in any transaction.
Scammer will often send an official looking email that appears to come from craigslist, offering a guarantee, certifying a seller, providing payment services -- all such emails are fakes!
2. distant person offers a genuine-looking (but fake) cashier's check

you receive an email (examples below) offering to buy your item, or rent your apartment, sight unseen.
cashier's check is offered for your sale item, as a deposit for an apartment, or for your services.
value of cashier's check often far exceeds your item - scammer offers to "trust" you, and asks you to wire the balance via money transfer service
banks will often cash these fake checks AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE WHEN THE CHECK FAILS TO CLEAR, including criminal prosecution in some cases!
scam often involves a 3rd party (shipping agent, business associate owing buyer money, etc)
3. Someone requests wire service payment via Western Union or MoneyGram:

Scam "bait" items include apartments, laptops, TVs, cell phones, tickets, and other high value items
Often claim that an MTCN or confirmation code is needed before he can withdraw your money - this is FALSE, once you've wired money, it is GONE.
Common countries currently include: Nigeria, Romania, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Netherlands - but could be anywhere
Apartment listing may be local, but landlord/owner is "travelling" or "relocating" and needs you to wire money to them abroad
Deal often seems too good to be true, price is too low, rent is below market, etc
4. distant person offers to send you a money order and then have you wire money:

this is ALWAYS a scam, in our experience - the cashier's check is FAKE
sometimes accompanies an offer of merchandise, sometimes not
scammer often asks for your name, address, etc for printing on the fake check
deal often seems too good to be true
5. distant seller suggests use of an online escrow service.

most online escrow sites are FRAUDULENT, operated by scammers
for more info, do a google search on "fake escrow" or "escrow fraud"
6. distant seller asks for a partial payment upfront, after which he will ship goods

he says he trusts you with the partial payment
he may say he has already shipped the goods
deal often sounds too good to be true
7. foreign company offers you a job receiving payments from customers, then wiring funds

foreign company may claim it is unable to receive payments from its customers directly
you are typically offered a percentage of payments received
this kind of "position" may be posted as a job, or offered to you via email

i received a call/ message from a "matt" 866-326-9921.stating the same information on selling my car/ so i looked this up and wolla i am here. thank you all for the info . just passing this on.

Brad called me twice.I have no desire to do business with a company over 3,000 miles away.

Doesn't matter if it's a free ad or not.  I got scammed by a similar company way back in 1995 - before the internet was popular and you could easily check on scams.  The also emptied my checking account by creating a fake document and using the routing numbers on the bottom of my check.  Don't fall for it.  I never recovered a dime after complaining to the BBB.

Yep! You guys and Gals are right.  "Eric" from Longwood Inc. Called my cel this morning and said, he's been monitoring my vehicle and said he could help me sell "This particular vehicle-Guaranteed".  
My instincts told me--Something dosent smell right--when an advertiser contacts you-especially when you never even heard of them.  So, if this is a ligit company, they have soe strange practices.

Regardless if it's an "Over Used" word, the fact is--people are being Scammed everyday-everywhere.  In today's economy, this is insult to injury.  I have No passion for anyone posing as a legitimate business.  And quite frankly, this sure smells funny.  I've read most of these posts and people are obviously concerned about being taken and I don't see the harm in being cautious.

I had recently put my add up on Craigslist for my car. I recieved a call from a Matt pertaining to Longwood Ink. I thought this to be a scam right off the bat. First off how are you going to contact ME, and try to sell my car, but require a "small" fee? Thanks buddy, but obviously i'm wanting to sell my car on my own....Hence is why i put the add on Craigslist....Dumbass....
