Continue to get calls from this number claiming to be Capital One.  We have never had any accounts with Capital One.  The person they are looking for has the same name but different birthdate.  I have informed them I would contact the Federal Trade Commission to report them.  Calls stopped for a month and then started up again.

Got a call from this number today.  Let the answer machine get it. They didn't leave a message.  Shows number but says unknown caller. I didn't call back. I don't even have an account with Capital One nor do I wish to have one. They have called before. I thought the number looked familiar. I'm not supposed to be getting these calls anymore. I'm on the no call list.

They had called several times.  I finally answered and she said I had was over the limit on my Mastercard.  I told her I don't have a mastercard and she transferred me to someone else.  i did give the next lady my address and last 4 digits of SS#.  She said that didn't match any of her info on the records and appologized and hung up.

I get calls from this number 4 or 5 times a day, including late in the evening sometimes. The one time I answered, they did not identify themselves (when you dial the number back, it is Capital One), and asked for someone that I do not know. Clearly trying to collect on a debt. Clearly have the WRONG phone number associated with the unlucky person they are after. ~sigh~ I explained that I was *not* that person, and was told that my number would be removed. Nope. I called back a few weeks later, and the nice lady at Capital One confirmed that they do *not* have any record of my number. So why the phone calls? What do I do now?? Not much I *can* do. I reported the number at www.donotcall.gov, which is useless as far as I can tell. Best that can be done, I guess. :-(

Same story as with the 8669295307.  recording left several times.  i stopped answering the telephone at home because all i get is telemarketers or who know what else that i have not requested information about.  These companies hide behind several different numbers.  I already signed my telephones in the Do not Call list and did not a thing!  they are still calling my number.

I have no bills or credit cards and they just called me 3 times today. i don't answer

capital one business account internal collections - calling for $3.06. Never give your full social, you should only have to verify part of your account. If they can tell you your balanace, name, address, etc then its probably legit. You cant bust on someone in India for working in a call center they didnt ask our companies to come there, they are just doing what what jobs Americans dont want to do and for less money....

Asks you to hold for an important message...then hangs up.

Since 11/18/2009, I have been receiving calls from 866-381-0453. I called back on another phone and the recording said it was Capital One. I followed a instructions from Capital One's website which said to call 1-888-817-2970 to opt-out of telemarketing calls. Keep getting calls from this number.  I have an auto loan always paid on time, never late.  I also have a CC with them that is paid in full each month.  They call and no message is left if I do not answer.  What to do?

Also, when I cal back they don't answer.  I refuse to input my CC number or SSN when I am not sure if it is really Capital One.

I actually called Capital One and even though they verified that this number, as well as 800-955-6600 was their collection department, they had no record of any one calling me, since my account was not delinquent.  There is another scam called "caller ID spoofing" where the caller says they represent a legitimate company and have a "legit" phone number show up on your caller ID, but it's really a phishing.  
I am actually on a MLOA and haven't had any income coming in since the end of October,  so I feel your pain.  However, you need to contact your creditors any way.  Most of the time, if you let them know that you are having financial difficulties, they will try to work with you, at least that has been my experience so far.  Good luck.

Get calls daily from them. When I finally pick up, there is no answer from the other side. I don't have any financial problems with Capital One, so if it is them they they are only trying to sell me something that I don't want. I won't bother answering the next call. And in fact, I'll simply block them.

I recieve numberous calls from these two toll free numbers many times during the day!  I do not have any Capitol One credit cards so am not over due on monthly payments. I do not answer the phone for one of these calls and want it to stop!!!!

Got a call from this number and the person on the other end claimed to be from Capital One. Said that my credit card terms would be changing and they wanted to go over them with me. But first that I had to verify some information on my account. RED FLAG WENT UP. I told her that I would call Capital One back when I had time to do so. She said fine, but they keep calling me back every day.

A word of friendly advice: NO BANK WILL CALL WITH A CHANGE IN TERMS. THIS HAS TO BE A SCAM TO GET YOUR ACCOUNT INFO. DON'T FALL FOR IT! if you get a call like this, tell them to mail you the new terms in writing like every other bank does. And make it clear to the person that you will not do anything over the phone - that you especially won't discuss any account info by phone from an unverified number.

Got a call from 866-381-0453 and they ask for someone else that I know, but repeated my phone number.It was someone I don't get along with and I'm wondering if they are using my information.

I worked for capital one, its a COLLECTION call. Either they have the wrong number or you are WAY overdue on your card. Capital one uses cheap labor for their collection calls, can you honestly tell me there is a large number of people in America who would willingly take this job?
