Here's a heads up that might come in handy to reduce your illegal phone calls:
When typing your phone number in an email or a website (or anywhere online), DO NOT use periods to seperate the number groupings  (xxx.xxx.xxxx). Always use hyphens/dashes instead (xxx-xxx-xxxx). There are software programs that scammers use to cull phone numbers off search engines to make illegal telemarketing calls. Dashes give too many erroneous results in the program, because of the many similarities in other number grouping situations.  If you hyphenate your phone numbers, you should see a sharp decrease in illegal phone calls.

866-929-5306 and 866-381-0453 - Not sure if this is Capital One or not, when I answer - they do not respond to me.  But if this site says it's Capital One, I believe it is as I do have an account with them.  However, not sure what they may want if this is Capital One.  Unlike what others are stating - my bill is not only on time - but a $0 balance.  Could they be trying to sell something?

We do not have a credit card either from Capital One, they do not leave a message either, my husband called the number back that is how we found out it was CO, when he asked why they were calling us they told us they had no idea why they were calling, this happens twice a day about every other day.

Just so you know....Most phone companies sell your telephone contact numbers to "collection agencies" (fraud or not).  They start harrassing your most called numbers or same-last-name numbers first--this is harrassing you into embarrassment.  They think you will call them if they do this to your family and friends.  This has happened to me fraudulently and with out notice I had a judgement made against me in another state.

i got a call today from 866-381-0453 everyday 3 or 4 times of different 800. dont answer people are telling me that it is scammers

866-381-0453 is one of NUMEROUS toll free numbers for Capital One.  This is directly from the mouth of Capital One supervisor Arlene employee id #JBC322.  Spoke with her 3 days ago for toll free number 800-955-6600.  She at least let me know called phone numbers run through a data base and which ever toll free number is open when your number comes back through the cycle calls you.  I have had six different Capital One associated toll free numbers call me so far.  If your phone number, cell included, are not registered on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY get them registered.  If you do not have any business dealings with Capital One either answer the call or call Capital One back from a number they can't harass you from .  DO NOT give Capital One any information other than the phone number you want removed but do verbally request your number be removed.  Document who you talked with, their employee ID number, date, time, and conversation - then FILE A COMPLAINT ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.

Unsolicited call from 866-381-0453

Collection Dept and agencies  go back to initial loan, credit card info  info etc.  We were used as a REFERENCE 12 years ago.  I informed the caller that I lost contact with the individual they were trying to reach about 5 yrs ago.   Maybe they should get off their auto dialing duff and google some of these people.  I found her ...why can't they???

The best one yet, I informed them that they had the wrong #  and I have never heard of the person.  After the conversation, the caller ended with...thank you ( calling me that person). Didn't believe that I WASN"T the person they were trying to reach

Don't have anything to do with this company. Call though I'm on the "do-not-call-list"

i have been getting these phone calls 4 a few months
i told Capital One multiple times to take my name off the list
i did it again recently and i think it will work this time
i talked to the manager by calling the number and kept holding on until someone picked up and told them my problem and they transferred my call to the manager
he said he will take my name off the database
apparently they usually take the names off the list for a few weeks, and it comes back in their database
that is why the other tries didn't work, i think

Never had a Capital One card. Why are they calling? Well, not true. They issued me a card YEARS ago with a small limit. It was effectively useless so I immediately cancelled the card.

What's in my wallet? NOT a Capital One card. Not now, not ever.

Apparently telling them I don't want whatever they are peddling and hanging up isn't sufficient.

I got a call from this number, the women sounded groggy(sp?), half awake, asked for Dale. I told her there is no Dale at this number. There is no Dale at this number, my name is Dave, she quickly and very wide awake said she would have this num,ber removed from the account and hung up with no other words or explanation.  I(& the wife) do ahve a ccount with Capitol One, it is up to date, and my name is not Dale. Call came in at1254pm5/07/10.

Don't give these scammers info..it's a scam

if you can afford the lawyer you can actually sue them for harrassment

Give me a break.......they do NOT work for Capitol One..it is a scam....it does prove something..I always enter bogus numbers when I call them right back and waste their time...they have no business calling 20 to 30 times a day when one doesn't even have an account with them..if you doubt this, call the REAL capitol one and see what they say.......interesting!

Just forward your phone to THEIR phone # for a few hours...lol let them call themselves...it works!

Continuously getting phone calls from this number,  I do not have a Capital One card.  I've told them repeatedly that the person they are looking for does not reside at this address and I do not know who they are.  They will stop for a few weeks, then start up again.

Well Mr I pay my bills....then why where you here searching this number....busted dude. What's up did'nt pay your bill either? Lost your job? Me too it happens.
