    screwed
someone used my identity to buy a dell laptop.  dell sent me a letter trying to verify infomation I informed them that I did not order a lap top to cancel the order.  guess that was enough to verify the information.  About 6 months later I started getting bills.  called the number finally found out it was for a computer I never ordered.  filled a police report. called dell submitted the report to them.  but it still went to collections.  about a year later I bought a tv 0 interest.  they used my dads number as a reference as it was his electronics shop.  then they started calling him.  trying to locate me.  that was 2 years ago.  changed my phone number that took about a year for them to connect the new number because I changed it with my creditcard companies.  NFO financial  aka dell computers.

Wise up.  This all "you didn't pay your bills" attitude used to be true, but no more.  These people call for their own reasons, sometimes for scams, sometimes for collection purposes. Many times as a cold call.  They call me and whaddya know, my CapOne card has a $0 balance.  So, no reason to call except for sales reasons, or identity theft, or who knows?  So I ask them to stop, sometimes politely and sometimes rudely, but to no avail.

Just block them. Works great, but of course, just until they spoof their number again.  And so it goes....

Your raging idiocy and obvious bias is actually quite amusing.

    It is Capital one...I hope
Ok I think It is capital 1....  I got a call from this number and I missed the call so I called it back.  It said it was capital services (which I have a capital card (not capital 1) through Bank of America) so I gave them my card and ssn cause I thought it was concerning my account from large payment I made that same day.  Anyway, after I gave them the numbers, they hung up!!!!!.

So I called my credit card company and canceled my cards and started researching.  I called the number back and finnaly got ahold of someone.  They claimed to be capital 1 custemer service and fraud department.

Ok. So I look up capital 1s main phone number and asked him about the phone number, he said it was part of their company and it was their custemer service number.  They did remove my number from their calling list.

Now I feel a little better but feel stupid for giving out numbers to a company that I thought was one I was with.  Next time I will doubble check or hang up

BY THEY WAY, I PAY ALL MY BILLS WITH NO LATE PAYMENTS AND FEEL BAD FOR THOSE LESS FORTUANTE TO DO SO DUE TO HARD TIMES.  That comment from user by I PAY MY BILLS kinda torques me a little........

Keep getting calls from this number everyday sometimes 3 to 4 times a day. That person does not live in my state and I do not have anything to do with this person. I have given the caller the person's phone number so they can call the right person and still was told my number would be took off the calling list. But the calls have continued. I have gotten very ugly with the caller at this point.

Got a call from them at 12:30 AM.Thanks to COMCAST call blocking, the phone did not ring, but the attempted call was listed as a missed call.

BTW - I do not or never have had any relationship with Capital One bank (and never will), nor do I have any unpaid bills or even late bills.

Answered a call from this number a couple of months ago, and gentlemen (??) stated that he was from Capital One regarding my Capital One Platinum Master Card.  Insisted that I was over my credit limit by $172 - when I informed him that I did not have a card with this company, he wanted the last four digits of my Social Security Number.  Hung up on him.  This number has continued to call my home two, three or four times a day - almost daily - since that time.  I have contacted the local police and the Federal Trade Commission, and still the calls keep coming.  This past Sunday, I received three calls from them but did not answer the phone.

All with Capital One...start filing charges with the FCC!!!!! They call at all hours of the day, state that they will remove your number - but you may get a 2nd call within 48 hours to verify. Start calling them back and giving them a dose of their own medicine

I called Capital One TWICE and verified that this number does NOT belong to Capital One.  If you call it repeatedly, you get the same five or six people.  They're trying to steal your information.  Anyone on this site who says this number is legitimately a Capital One number is wrong and, may be in on the scam.  Go to www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint.  Let's see if we can get these f---ers shut down... today.

I just called the number and pushed 0 until I got someone on the line. I explained to her, someone had used our number, and I would appreciate it if they would remove my name. They agreed. Said it would take about 3 days. We shall see. This is very annoying!!!! Keep you posted.

I do not know the caller and assume it is a fraud attempt based on what I've read on the internet.  No message was left either, thus furthering my belief that it is not a valid caller (meaning not someone I'd want to do business with or speak with).

Lol  =) My favorite is listening to a caller identify themselves by first name then addressing them like they are an old best friend. "Betsy? Is that really you? I haven't heard from you in ages! How are you???" Do this emphatically...it's hilarious. Or put them on hold and never go back to the phone...they get in trouble for long calls!

Yah, put your number on the "no call list". After 31 days, start issuing complaints at the site. There will be a fine involved for each call you report. That'll quiet them down.

The company that called you.
