- CcfWhen I received this call it was from a Pakistan woman and I could not for the life of me understand what she was saying just that I had to call bad urgently. Then I googled the number because I could not understand her. Glad I did. My good life membership was suppose to be transferred to someone else, I filled out the papers and left them with the woman who wanted it. So if she did not take it that should not b my fault. I had mine cancelled so eff them.

- JamieI called to inquire about my payment the lady froGoodlife was very rude so then she said I am canceling your gym memebrship without me asking to do so I said no don't now I ave these lawyers calling me
- NatalieHonestly, I've never been to Goodlife, and this woman called one of my school friends from THIS number and asked for ME, saying I gave her this number (my friend's). I would never give my friend's number away. The woman claimed to be my lawyer. I don't have a lawyer and I've never even spoken to anyone at Goodlife ever. So why the [***] do they know my last name and how did they get my friend's number?

- jc replies to RidiculousThey did this exact same thing to my sister ( original hold of the account) and they stopes raking payments out of her account, we didn't find out until we "owed" them almost 3 grand it pisses me off because my father is a bus driver and he goes down to the states all the time and called from a pay phone witch in some states have 1866 numbers so I am forced to pick up,
- B replies to Law StudentYESSSSS F#CK GOODLIFE and the collection agencies constantly F#cking students over.
- Annoying!I also got a call from these nuts in the afternoon. I did owed money to Goodlife and made a partial payment not too while ago and the lady on the phone was pretty easy about it and she told me that I can pay off the rest of my balance in a month. I called and this guy picks up the phone with really bad English and told me that I must now only deal with them and have to clear my account with their firm instead of Goodlife. I told him about my partial payment and I insisted that I would only deal with Goodlife and he got mad and told me to call back with a receipt number and the funniest thing is that even he wasn't sure how much money I actually owed..I was planning to renew my membership with Goodlife next year but I am very certain now that this won't happen due to their bad customer service. I also was lied too as well when I signed up! The manger told me that I could cancel anytime but when I talked to him again he told me that's not the case. Pathetic!

- Phil rose replies to Greg JonesSame thing. Had to go to a manager. If course two more payments later and more I had time to go see them in my lunch hour. Paid the 100 fee to get out. Disgusting. I had paid for months without having the time to get there due to work commitments and now I got the same stupid call saying I owe a pyt plus a fee for the non payment being there. Oh my. So bad business. Got 5 phone calls from solicitors and then a letter saying send money to them and an hour earlier was told to take the money to good life. Like "what the hell". !!!!!!!
- Phil rose replies to CCExactly. No personal phone call at all. I expressed my concerns to good life yesterday and they said they would look into it. Bull crap. This has obviously been going on and still going on for a long time. Spread the word. Bad bad set up.
- Sophia| 2 repliesI blocked them from taking money out of my account through my bank. They wouldnt let me cancel my membership so i had no choice. Maybe they should allow ppl to lv when they dont want to be a member anymore!
- i agree totally replies to Sophia| 1 replymy brother got a call from the solisitors and called me all worried. I told him if they call back just tell them your not me your not involved with my business and have a good day. Thing is i don't belive i have ever signed a contract with that gym nor financed anything except my house and my car. I was a bit anxious why a legal firm in calgary ( never been there since i was 11 ) would be phoneing me so i went to google. Many many results for this. So i started thinking back years and years back and i did try a free membership for a gym about 15 years ago but no bank account info ever changed hands. Could they be coming after me for the cancellation fees? back then i was young and verbaly cancelled no paperwork...i was too nieve. But reality check that well exceeds any statute of limitations on a unreconized unsecured debt anywhere in canada. Wierd. Anyone else have them come after you a decade or more after the fact? oh yea and my grandmother changed my last name so its not like there is many people walking around wearing my name tag.
- anon replies to i agree totallyAs you said, they legally can't come after you since it's been so long. As well, you shouldn't pay any caller who refuses to mail proof of debt to you and proof that they have the right to collect that debt.
- catI just received a call from these bimbo's and took a message for myself, suspicious who was calling me about a business matter from a legal firm, I googled them,.............oh the power of the internet. I will not be calling them back. I paid for a membership I had not used for over a year, I am no longer in town and didn't find their classes of much use. I put a stop payment on my account and that is when I started to hear from them. If they checked their records they would know I have not crossed their threshold in over a year. Many complaints about dirty facilities went unaddressed, there are far better gym's to go to. I have tried to call, but don't get far. As many have said, their practices leave a lot to be desired, everything is in their favour and the customer always pays and losses. I seldom talk to anybody on a 1-800 or similar number, I take a message and don't call back.

Once you sign up for Good Life Fitness they think they own your for life! Same [***] with Vic Tanny's and Super Fitness back in the day.
They keep calling me and my roommate (whom I warned not to sign up with them) had paid them in full before quitting as he moved to Mexico.
Last phone call they promised to remove my number from their file, but we shall see what happens. - Gwammar Powice replies to Discussed with Goodlife Fitness!*** DISGUSTED come on people...
- nocomment replies to RidiculousI don't even belong to good and it took a couple of phone calls to them to tell them they have the wrong number. Now I just got a phone call from this 866 number and did a google search of it to find that you are all having problems with goodlife. So now it looks like I'm going to be harassed by this guy for money that I don't owe and I'm not even the person they are looking for. Note to self, never sign up for Goodlife.
- Teleincommunicado| 1 replyGot a call AND a letter from these clowns on the same day. Did some research both here and on the website they list on their letter (slfcollects.com), and the red flags are waving fast and furious.
First, two contacts in one day. As per what I've been told by Service Nova Scotia, that's not allowed.
Second, he openly says on the website that he's not regulated by the collection agency act. Service Nova Scotia has advised that, if he's even licensed to collect in the province (they sounded skeptical about him being so), then he would be.
Third, boasting about passing the fee onto the consumer. That can, in some cases, be deemed either unreasonable or flat out not allowed, as the fee is not part of what a debtor owes a creditor. It's not always the case, but it's quite possible he might not be allowed to do so.
Three strikes, he's out (and the subject of an active complaint with Service Nova Scotia). No callbacks.- Caller: Peter J. Stephan, P.C.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Teleincommunicado replies to TeleincommunicadoUpdate on this, Service Nova Scotia came back and said that since Peter J. Stephan is not a member of the Nova Scotia Barrister's Society, he has to be licensed as a collection agency here to contact people in NS. Since he's not licensed as a collection agent either, they're ordering him to stop, and a complaint will be launched with the Alberta Law Society.
- CathyThis is from Goodlife...I had been up to date on payments but due to changing jobs I could not afford my next payment so I called Goodlife to let them know and also my bank to stop payment cause in the past they have taken payments out a weel early.I did this four months ago and they are still calling saying I owe them money WHICH I DO NOT.
- Call type: Debt collector
- needing help replies to law student 2Hey Goodlife screwed up and didn't process my payments even thoguh I went in and changed my credit card information with them and ow they've got these collection clowns on my back and goodlife is trying to say I owe all these extra fees when it's their fault for not processing the payments. Is there anything I can do because they're trying to charge me for more than 2 months which is the cancellation policy even though I stopped using the membership because they weren't charging me.
