    contact is voided !
I am also have some difficulties with these scum bags ! How the hell do you expect me to pay 3 NSF charges, on top of the original chares (bank wise) thennn 3 NSF charges, 3 service charges, then once again, 3 original charges ! And not to mention the cancelation fee ! Btw, all these charges were made on the same day. EXPLAIN THAT?! Just so you know, anyone from Ontario who has a contract with these scum can fight it. It says its a self renewing contract after a year, which is ILLEGAL in Ontario as of 2007. Have fun with your own screw up GoodLife ! This is well deserved on their part ! P.s- sorry for my spelling mistakes ! Phones donnt make this easy !

These guys are full of tricks. When I tried to hand in my resignation letter the receptionist told me they cannot receive my written resignation without me having a meeting with the club manager. Where does it say this in the membership contract! BTW - IT DOES NOT. And guess what happens when I tried to get the appointment... Complete run-around. Dodged my repeated calls. What a game! These guys are crooked. Stay clear...

I totally agree with a suit against Good Life. I cancelled my membership and they tried to take payments out. The cost of the membership went up when HST came into effect and they tried again a year later with the new amount!!! WTF is wrong with this law firm and GL? They tell me my debt has more than doubled and I try telling them there should be do debt. I was a member for 8 years!!!!! If anyone wants to email me my email is sharvando@gmail.com
Is there not a 2 year statute of limitations?
What amount will they take you to small claims court?
How long can it accrue interest?

I dont think they report to Equifax, does anyone know?

I'd love some advice. The amount they say I owe is 200.00 which is prob 300.00 by now!

Not suprised to see all these comments about goodlife fitness. I signed up for a membership on the grand opening day of the centre located in the bay centre Victoria BC, didn't have my direct deposit info so I had to run to my bank but then I realized what kind of commintment I was getting myself into so i decided to call them and cancel my application as they said I had 5 days to think about it and cancel if i'd like. The following day I got a phone call regarding the membership and again I told them that I wasn't interested anymore neither of the staff told me I had to come in and fill up a cancelation form. After about 6 months I got a call from the collectors telling me I owe good life fitness $200 for my membership I refused to pay it since I haven't even used the facility and the only time I've been in there was when I signed up. I tried to resolve this issue with goodlife for more than a year not even kidding and all that happened was the staff telling me that i'd get a phone call from the manager to even the manager himself telling me he'd fix the issue and then never call back or ignore my phone calls. Anywaaay. do not trust goodlife fitness at all especially when your signing someting. they will not give u the full details as all they want from u is your money and that's it. there was only one girl that actually helped me and the rest were just a bunch of pretend Barbie dolls who tries to look good but is way to air headed for their own well being.

Used to work for this company, and the customer service recepresentatives
are terrible, the reps that they have working for them, don't live in Canada
they live in the Phillippines, and they are not licensed.

Do NOT send these losers a dime !  They are NOT a law firm, but they are registered with The Alberta Law Association.  Other than phone you, there's Jack Sh%t they will do.

The following information is copy / pasted directly from their website:  http://www.slfcollects.com/

Some of our firms key advantages:

    • We are licenced and regulated by The Alberta Law Society

    • Utilizing a lawyer name will create more urgency for your customer to pay your bill

    • Since we are a law firm and not regulated by the collection agency act, it may be possible to pass on our fee to the outstanding customer. This is something that collection agencies can not do.

    • We provide superior performance

    • Our client service is second to none

We had a family membership at GL and when we moved we did not cancel and soon heard from the law firm of Peter Stephan. They told us to go back to GL and deal with the issue before it became a bigger issue. We did exactly that and had the whole thing straightened out in no time. My brother is a lawyer in Calgary and knows the lawyer that called me.  Anyways while we did not really have to deal with them , I appreciated their advice to us.

I was getting phone calls from these solicitors as well after cancelling a GoodLife account. I was unemployed and couldnt afford to continue paying them and e-mailed thier head office telling them this and asked for a cancellation. They continued to take monies from me so I enforced a stop payment through my bank account. These solicitors called me multiple times and told me I owe Good Life $254.52. After reading all of your posts im concerned if I should pay them or not? What should I do!

This whole process is a fawking big waste of time. Good Life Fitness, you need to get your sht together before referring 'Customers' to a Disreputable Lawyer/Collection Agency such as Peter Stephan Barristers... these people have no Social Skills what-so-ever but feel that they are above the law  - cowards !

I paid my $10.30 March /10 Membership Fee plus the outrageous administration fee's a few days ago, for your fault in the beginning... a letter and/or since being a member since the original gym Champions, you think a phone call to inform me of your mistake would have been nice.

To Peter Stephan Barristers; just reading your reviews says it all!! What a joke!! Time to get a new profession.

Please no more harassing phone calls from DON, I am tired of hearing his voice! NOTE - if you’re going to hire employees to collect, to put it simply without getting into the whole legislation, make sure they understand the job!! You’re a disgrace and one of the reasons why legit Collection Agencies get a bad rep.

Also, I wrote this as simple as I could so that you both (Peter Stephan & Good Life) can understand. One more harassing phone call from you, remember I told you I paid, I will take it up a notch!

In a world where customer service is the buss word, you both are a disgrace!!!!
