Thought I'd share a little more information that seemed to have slipped my mind earlier.

The caller ID telephone number was different than the actual number they wanted me to call. Not very useful information, but the numbers are different and thought someone would recognize it.

    Caller ID read: 913-599-1591

They are a 3rd party collection agency - just bypass them and set up a payment plan with the hospital. Ignore them if they say you can't pay the hospital directly - you can.

Recieved 12 calls in 3 days on my cell phone with messages of "please call immediately"  Each time I called the number to ask to no longer be called the phone just rang and rang.  All calls from same 913-599 prefix, but the last 4 digits were different each call.  I called the Attorney General's office of Kansas and filed a complaint.  Please do so if this is happening to you.

Regarding messages requesting me to call 913-541-9925 "urgent matter" (my foot!@#$%): I have also just reported this company to the BBB. I have received so many voicemails on my land line (which I NEVER answer b/c the only reason I have it is for DSL), I cannot begin to count them. Always very vague, exactly as what everyone else has described on this forum. I am so glad I decided to look it up on the net before I even considered calling them back. They have never even addressed me by name, which means that they probably have the wrong number, but why should I suffer because of their ignorance? I wish I could leave some terrible message on my voicemail to torment them because no one who I would want to hear from would ever have or call that number. But alas, that would not be the kind thing to do. Has anyone had ANY success with this yet?

Get phone calls from this number at least once a day. Usually an utomated message with absolutely no details as to the nature of the call. I developed a recording of my own so that when I answer their calls and if its an actual person calling, I can leave one of their smart-alek messages right back at them!

I just got my first cell phone 2 months ago.. I am under age 16 and have never incured any bills in my name... they have been calling me once per day for about 3 weeks now...I have blocked there number but they call from a different one the next time...and like the messages above some are machines some are voice....I even tried putting my name in my voice mail message hopeing they would realize they have the wrong person... no such luck... I also tried to call them but I have not gotten an answer..the phone just rings and rings... this is very frustrating.

So what happened when you contacted BBB? I have had the same problem, and I cannot find out why I owe money. We moved as well and they state they sent notices none of which we received.

There are more numbers but I've deleted them over the last 6 months. Yes, six months this has been going on. At least 5 times per week sometimes more than once per day. I live in Minnesota and the number this "KCI" is calling is a new work cell phone number. I've never bothered to call them back after reading the comments here (apparently it wouldn't help anyway).

Has anyone had any luck with the BBB? Do they get back to the person making the complaint or simply take the information and go from there? I'd like to hear from someone that has contacted either the BBB or the Kansas Attorney General's Office.

get a grip people call back see if it is you they need to talk to if it is pay your bills if not they will remove your number. All you people that complain and have bills with them should be embarrassed. They are just trying to do thier job like the rest of us.

if you've got a new cell #, it's quite possible that you've inherited a number that someone else had ditched for this exact reason - it's they who have the bad credit and are dodging calls from creditors.  i've been dealing with this for over a year now, and the solution is always the same: just let the caller know that the person they're looking for has changed their number, and they're usually very accommodating.

The problem with this group, is that even if you tell them they have the wrong party, they call anyway and try to say you are lying to them.  They are one slimy group of collectors.

Im hoping someone can help me.
On my husbands credit report there is something from Kansas Counsleors on there all the way back from 4 years ago and its only like $61.  He said it was from an auto accident, but he was on his parents insurance.

His mom said that someone from Kansas Counsleors came to their house about 4 months ago looking for my husband.  Well, he wasnt there.  Hes active duty military and has been overseas for 3 years.  He never got a bill nor did his parents, but its on his report.
We are hoping to trade his car in when he returns from deployment, but have no idea how to get this collections of his report.

    Please email me mdurrant13@gmail.com

    Thanks!

I had been recieving calls from KCI and they say about the same thing as everyone else and when I research them I find the most obsecure websites. I checked my credit report and there are a couple debts I have under there name but I'm just not sure what to do everything I;ve been reading about them has been negative but when I looked up credit agencies they are on the list of top 5 in Kansas some things I've read has said not to pay them and one women even said she had used them to collect a debt and never recieved the money but when she checked it said the debt had already been settled I know I have oustanding debts and I want to clean up my credit but I don't want to get screwed. Any advice on what to do?

I think your best bet is to have an attorney handle this.  It may be a simple matter that can be resolved by a letter or two from your attorney to KCI. Also, if KCI has reported false information about you to the credit bureaus or violated federal or state debt collecting laws, then you would have grounds to sue them for damages.

Many attorneys in this field work on contingency; so don't automatically conclude that you can't afford any attorney.  You can google for attorneys who work in this field or check your local yellow pages. Here are just a few links to either law firms or consumer rights organizations that provide free attorney referrals:

I haven't recieved any calls from this 'collector'.  I actually noticed them reporting derogitory on my credit report!!  I don't even know who these people are and what they are trying to collect from me, and kind of scared to call them actually, from what I've been reading.  They've been reporting since Jan 08'.  I would if I were ya'll to check your credit report, it's messed my credit up because of these people.
