They will sit back and laugh and say HAHA got them to pay and still collected our money. I use to work for a sh*t hole collection agency, trust me! Can a debt collector contact me any time or any place?
No. A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they’re told (orally or in writing) that you’re not allowed to get calls there. - Terri replies to PrivateKnow your rights:

Can a debt collector contact anyone else about my debt?
If an attorney is representing you about the debt, the debt collector must contact the attorney, rather than you. If you don’t have an attorney, a collector may contact other people – but only to find out your address, your home phone number, and where you work. Collectors usually are prohibited from contacting third parties more than once. Other than to obtain this location information about you, a debt collector generally is not permitted to discuss your debt with anyone other than you, your spouse, or your attorney. - Terri replies to VKnow your rights:

- sparkfighterI used to work for KCI and I'll tell you that there isn't much you can do except pay the bill or send a letter by certified mail telling them not to call you again. That's because they work real hard to stay within the law and so even if they have crossed the line somewhere, it will be very difficult to prove.
- annoyed person out of state replies to TYWow! So this number has attempted to do the exact same thing to me! They keep calling my cell phone. But they are asking for someone else, and keep claiming I know this random person named Michelle. I have never known anyone by that name. I get calls almost everyday, and they leave a variety of messages. My personal favorite was recieved today. A guy left a voicemail saying he was the police. But I'm not an idiot, and police ALWAYS identify themselves, and this [***] didn't. So I hear this message and call back to have them remove my number for the 50th time, and I swear the same guy answers and I tell him what a great message he left. Good thing I saved it because I definetly am using that [***]. Impersonating a cop=ILLEGAL. These are definetly some hardcore debt collectors, as it seems they will stop at nothing, including wrong numbers.
- StacyThese f***** people have been calln us for over six months now. We usually just let it ring thinking it will stop. It hasn't. When we did answer there is noone there! I finally was able to speak to someone today & they wanted $1300.67 for a bill from a company that we have never done business with, after three attempts he said a company that we have done business with. We do not & have never been behind in our bills with this co. He said he mailed a statement(which we never received)to our street address. well we have a p.o. box. He gave me until the next day to pay this because he couldn't mail another inv. because of the RAIN FOREST! He then said that he would mail an inv. after my persistance, then hung up on me without even asking for my p.o. # What the f***! How the F*** can these companies get away with this? We have blocked several different 913 # & now they are using 316-942-0451. All saying Ks counselors. where are the gov. regulations?

- LarrtThe company calls 4-5 times a day. Most of the time won't leave message. when they do, it is just to call back to their number. Have not called back since they don't seem to have to abide by the rules. Used to get calls from them out of Wichita KS, now getting from Kansas City area. It is kansas counselors. they call my cell phone, but I just recently got the number, so they have searched through my social security number to get it. If they are doing that, what is stopping them from getting other personal info and using to steal my identity. I am reporting them to all the appropraite agencies.
