Update:  I did the survey on a subsequent call and called Comcast back to tell them about the not-so-helpful caller ID their incoming call shows.  He said he would pass it along to their tech support to look into changing it, and that they have gotten similar feedback from other customers.

I feel it is okay to answer calls from this number.  When you first call Comcast, recording asks you if you want a call back so you can give feedback about the experience you are about to have.  So...calls from this number usually mean you agreed and entered your phone number.  I don't think other departments use the same number.  BTW, personnel who work in customer service, billing and such as very courteous, so you may want to give them a little boost by taking the call to rate them.  The call back recording makes it clear in the questions whether it applies to the company or to the last person you spoke with.

Comcast service SUCKS.  They are constantly moving programs to the upper tier with the excuse, "It cost more so we had to move it".  I so wish legislation would get passed forcing these companies to allow the consumer to select and pay for ONLY the channels the consumer wants to watch.  Since my primary language is English, I can eliminate A LOT of useless channels.  Also, when there is an outage - trying to get to a real person instead of a computer generated voice is near impossible.  When you finally do get a live/real person you can barely understand them due to the heavy foreign accent or broken English.  Again, I wish they would pass legislation that says when service is lost, Comcast must reimburse the consumer who works from home and must rely on the service in order to conduct their business.  If I'm paying for a service and end up losing business because of a service outage - I need to be compensated for my lost revenue.  And as it has already been said.....if Comcast is not going to identify themselves through caller id - don't call me.  Due to telemarketers and scammers....I NEVER answer my phone to unrecognized numbers - EVER.

It's Comcast. I accidentally hit return call survey with technical support. If you don't have Comcast, then it's a spammer using Comcast's number trying phish for information.

This was indeed Comcast calling with some questions regarding my interaction with one of their tech support people earlier in the evening.  The service I received was excellent and I would have liked to have taken the survey, but like many others I thought it was an incoming robocall when I saw Pennsylvania so I didn't answer.  When I called the number back I got a recording but was unable to access the survey.  Ironically, about 12 minutes before the Comcast call, I got another call from area code 531 that I also did not answer because I thought it was a robocall.  It most likely was a robocall, but now I'm wondering about the possibility that the earlier call might have been Comcast as well.

Just Comcast asking about your satisfaction with their customer support. The support over the last 15 years, yes 15 years, has been consistently terrible. Try to get a bill straightened out after making the simplest of changes; it's nuclear physics!  They are too cheap to pay for a Caller ID in their phone number too. We need to open the market up to competition within each neighborhood.

This is the phone number from Comcast Xfinity cable survey. If you say "yes" to a survey, this is one of the numbers that will contact you.

Surveys are SPAM. And this number and any others can easily be spoofed.

I just got that call too while on the  phone with a Comcast rep. Caller ID showed caller as Ryan Shaeffer. I don't know any Ryan Shaeffer but I find it bizarre that Comcast would call me while i am still on a phone call to ask how the service was. I cannot check my message because I am still on the phone to them. Weird.
