Yep - I feel the same way.  They stole from all us and they still get a bailout.  Now they are allowed to
borrow money from the Fed at 0% or near 0% to loan to us at 29%.  This is bull.  I have nothing left to take either after my business went bust and my 401K lost 60% in a matter of months.  But once again the middle class will get screwed hard. Thanks Obama.

Received 3 calls between 8:50am and 12:50pm on the same day from 407-771-0887, the caller won't leave a message but ends the call when a message is about to be record.

They are doing the same with me even though I informed them of my situation (just moved, unexpected expenses ate through our entire savings, literally don't have the money to pay my bill yet).  I told them when they could expect payment and they said that the collection calls would stop.  No such luck.  I don't know if they don't bother to put notes on accounts or if others don't bother to read them but it really is ridiculous.

You totally should.  They have caused me so much trouble in trying to get automatic payments stopped.  It's been a total nightmare, but I guess someone has to pay for all of those new ATM's they just put in.

I'm going to our local credit union.

The credit card delinquency in the country is less than 5%.  http://www.consolidatedcredit.org/press/article/761/

That means that 95% of people are paying their credit card bills on time. No one forced anyone to take this money.  You see people that make 35k a year driving around in a 745i.  Then when they lose their job or get a pay cut and can't pay their credit cards, they get upset with the banks for making an effort to get their money back.  Yeah, we feel like their "legally robbing us", but we got ourselves into this.  It's like the law telling us that if we speed we're gonna get a ticket.  Then when we speed, we blame the cop for the ticket... WE WERE THE ONES SPEEDING! NOT THE COP!  People need to just suck it up and take it. Being harrassed is the penalty for taking the money that they should have in the first place... Now, obviously there are exceptions to the rule, death in the family, disability, etc.  But, for the most part, its people that spent all this money, now reality hits them in the face, and they are trying to find someone else to blame.  Yes, the bank share some of the blame, but they didn't force anyone to take any money.

The league of nations were probably to blame for allowing Hitler to build his army, but ultimately, Hitler is to blame for WWII, not the league of Nations.

When they keep calling you back to back that is harassment and you can report to to FCC or FTC.  File a complaint and the calls will stop

Bill collectors are so not cool...especially now when I have nothing to give them, not working, and trying to get my SSDI.  I have called all of my collectors and told them honestly what is happening, but it does not work...they dont care.

    Judgment Proof
They can't collect SSDI. You are judgment-proof:

    Judgment Proof Letter
You have no income, no assets, no money and, you can prove it!

You owe the money but have lost your source of income and can no longer afford to pay this debt! Although you've tried to explain your situation to your creditors and collectors, they ignore you and continue to call. Some bill collector are insisting you borrow the money from family or friends and other debt collectors are telling you to put the debt on another credit card...something you do not want to do because it will only rob Peter to pay Paul.

Special Note: Judgment-proof is the commonly used term but a more accurate term would be "execution-proof"! Even if creditors or debt collectors win a judgment against you, they still have to collect, something that is impossible to do if you are penniless. Thus, being broke insulates you not from a judgment but from the execution of collecting that judgment.

    Dear Collector or Creditor,

I am writing in response to your (letter or phone call) dated {insert date}, (copy enclosed) about the above referenced account. I am unable to pay on this account due to {insert reason here i.e. unemployed, disability} . This is a {permanent or temporary} situation.

I also hope to save both of us a great deal of time, energy and expense by letting you know that I have no attachable income or own any assets such as a home, car or land; essentially I have no money and can prove it! In accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692c, 805(c):

    (c) CEASING COMMUNICATION. "If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt..."

Although I agree that I owe this debt, I am unable to make any payments toward it and therefore ask that you cease further communication with me concerning this debt. I will notify you if my financial situation improves enough to allow me to begin or resume making payments. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

    Sincerely

PIB - my heart goes out to you as there are many US citizens in the same position as yourself. I am praying that we all get out of this mess and back to earning a decent living working.  People like DannyH I will just read and move on. I had to make some sacrifices and the picture for me is still grim. I am working 3 jobs just to make ends meet.

Disaster at work = 20%+ pay cut.  My choice boils down to: 1. pay the rent and take care of my special needs 7 year old.  2. pay my credit cards.

They start the day off with multiple calls and it provides the motivation I need to tell them to F off. I will never pay a dime to Chase because of these harassing calls. Since my life is nearing an end I care very little if a company that does business in this way ever gets what is owed them from me. I have several other overdue accounts with other companies and because they treat me with respect I am resolving all debt with them.

I do not have a Citibank credit card, and yet I keep getting calls from these psychos - NO one is ever at the other end.

But since last week, three times when I was on the telephone, talking to a friend, I got this loud, continuous series of BEEPS on the phone call. It hurt my ear, so I looked at the phone. The caller ID showed THIS number as if they had broken into the phone line!

They didn't; the friend on the other end of the line did not hear the noise.

Does anyone know what the hell this is? Can these freaks break into my phone line while I'm on a phone call with loud beeps, and then have the phone number display on my caller ID.
