I just got a call from Google Map.  This is the most irrating company.  They call everyday and I just hang up, so today I pressed 1 to talk to someone to get them to leave me alone.  After asking them how do I get rid of your calls they hung up on me.  They have called for the last six months at least once a day.  I have pressed 2 to be removed but they just keep calling.

Called my company's emergency phone line very early, woke me up in a panic, thinking there would be an emergency to handle. I was irritated (to say the least) when it was someone asking for my business address. Said they were some directory service or something. Very hard to understand her.

    Done with Google
I just updated my business address two days ago by using the Google My Business postal mail verification system. Was that not good enough? Surprising they can't verify my business when the do a drive by with their Google Maps vehicle and access my network and suck down all my contacts or from the GPS in my phone that embedded Google apps have access to or through G+ or through one of their many ad services I USED TO USE. I imagine this is a desperate attempt for them to either try to regain my long standing business relationship we had (when I trusted them) or some kind of UPSELL to another of their worthless POS services. I hope the EU throws the book at them and the US has the balls to follow suit. Why did I even bother to verify by mail? All they're probably doing is setting targeting coordinates to take us out. One sad EVIL and UNTRUSTWORTHY company. One I USED to love...sorry Larry. Now go spend some of those billions on a new set of Da Vinci choppers instead of those nasty looking blood soaked fangs. If they ever call, I'll just read them this rant.

If you are really Google Maps - try hiring people in NORTH AMERICA that speak English and have a good phone to work with.  I could barely hear this guy - he spoke FAST and barely English - all spoken with crackling and fuzzy sound!!  I hung up.  Whatever happened to the Do Not Call list???

This is Google Maps updating changes to a listing. I submitted a new phone number online to my business listing, and Google called me 2 days later to confirm the new number. No...they did not try to sell me anything. No...they are not a scam. If you think it's a scam, you are confusing this number with the other people who start by saying they are associated with Google, Yahoo and Bing. This phone number from Google Maps is different and legit. They only call from the California number. Everyone else...is a scam. P.S. This call was short and sweet. =)

Somehow my hours got jacked up on google maps, so I edited the map info. They called me to verify the changes and went over all the displayed info. This is a legit call from the real Google Maps, no need to run and hide.

An Indian guy called me today from 650-253-2000 saying that he was calling from Google Maps and that he wanted to verify if the address I have listed is a street address or just a mailing address. I politely asked if it mattered. He said no. I told him I heard that my page would be removed if I did not list a valid street address where I take clients. He said that I had the option to have my street address hidden (in whole or in part). He said I could have NO address or just the city listed and that was fine. Apparently there have been a number of people rallying against this policy that in order to have a Google Maps listing you MUST disclose your address online (or at least have one). I asked if this is a policy change. He said, “This is a small policy change.” I’m thinking it’s HUGE… I admitted that the address on file was a mailing address so hopefully he won’t shut me down. I told him I just want it to say NPB and told him why (because I don’t want walk-ins bothering the hairstylists about my massage services at the salon location). He seemed to agree that this was reasonable and cited the fact that others have made similar comments. I had read articles about "Google Death" which means your entire marketing campaign goes down the tubes when Google changes your status to "We currently do not support this location” when they find out the address you list as your business address is not a physical location where you receive clients (just a mailing address at a UPS Store or something of that nature). I hope he was telling me the truth about the policy change.

I received a call from 650-253-2000 and a male voice, that sounded " arabian "asked me if this was Guns and Ammo- I told him it was and he should call back and leave a message. He didn't call. With what is going on in the world today, I have to say it left me nervous.

Of course these people calling don't really work for Google. The only people paying for "optimization services" don't know any better or just signed on yesterday.

It is google maps. Google has been listing wrong information about our business for years. All they wanted was the correct information when they called. Not a sales call at all.

They called claiming to be Google Maps updating my address.  The weird part is they were asking me if I was "Ticket Master"  I'm waiting for a call from Ticket Master for a refund on some tickets I purchased.  That's the only reason I picked up the call, because it looked like a business phone number.  There's something fishy about this number.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  This is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!  I'm nervous how they got my number thinking I was ticket master when I was on the phone with Ticket Master for over an hour yesterday....

I got a call from this number and the guy with a thick accent immediately started asking questions about my business. When I asked what company he was calling from he said Google Maps. When I asked what the information was for, he replied "You can either believe that I'm with Google Maps or not" and he hung up on me. Very rude and abrupt.

What the heck? Very creepy foreign guy asking all kinds of questions about my business. Never identified himself until I asked. I hung up on him. If this is really contracted for Google, then they need to hire a new call center.

I actually spoke to a human being who works for Google the other day about my business listings...after requesting support via email. And they are in the bay area so some calls originating from 650 can actually be from Google. It's the bay area where their company is located.
