I am not this person, but they left the message on my answering service, it is my right to listen to any message that is left on my answering service. In NO way is my listening to a message acknowledgement that I am whoever the caller wants me to be.

I'm getting a lot of these.  I wondering if they are just trolling for information.  I don't owe anybody anything yet these calls come in every day.  I never answer them.  I know I owe one bill for $170 to a hospital and that is all!  I have never believed in carrying credit.  I have no credit card.  I own my home.  I own my car.  Everything is paid for.  I think they are calling anybody and everybody not for overdue bills but just to gather information.  Boiler room operators like this can mark down a call they made and say "yes they answered and we talked" and get paid for them.

they keep calling here looking for someone that has the same last name as ours.
when i call back on the number it says will take 24 to 72 hours to be removed from their list.
it's been way past that time and still they keep on calling.

I also don't owe anyone anything to anyone.  My daughter called and told me they left a message on her phone for me.  I intend to send them a certified letter as well as initiate a lawsuit for their violation of the FTC and also a complaint with my state attorney general.  These leeches need to be stopped.

They are Zombie Debt Collectors ... aka: Vultures.

They try to collect on old debt or junk debt that does not exist. Don't pay them to stop the calls as it's admitting you owe them, even if you do not owe them anything.

If caller does not answer, they harass relatives to get caller to answer and talk to them. Then they try to weasel information and money out of people.

Most of the people they call don't even owe anything -- they just try to start trouble amongst families for kicks.

Some of them are douche-bags and some of them are pond-slime.

Don't talk to them -- just hang up or don't even answer.

Got a call from this # @ 8:15 a.m..  We were not home.  Message:  This is a debt collector trying to collect a debt.  Please call 800-257-6905.  No name of the caller or the person they want to talk to.  Tired of these calls.

Got a message from this number, call at 5:00pm, same message as Janean received.   Like others above we have no debt.  If I get more of these I'll look into further and report back

Get a call from Private Caller almost daily always different times : this is a call from eos cca in regards to a debt please call us at 1-800-257-6905. to repeat this message press pound. Never a name of who they are trying to reach. Very annoying since I do have friend with private number can't simply ignore all calls.

I also keep getting phone calls from this number and can't work out a debt that I do not have.  After reading other comments, am putting a block on this number.

  They are blocked, now, so their calls do not get through, though I do see a record of each attempt that is thus blocked.

  Before I blocked them, they were leaving messages on my answering machine, on an almost-daily basis, of a very threatening and belligerent nature, directed at someone by name whose name is not familiar to me.

  I did visit the company's web site, find a “Contact Us” link,and send an email specifying my phone number, and informing them that this number does not belong to the person for whom they keep calling, nor to anyone else with whom they have any legitimate business, and demanding that they stop calling.  They continue to make occasional attempts to call.

Call constantly and don't say a word.  How annoying can something be done about these nuts.
They need someone to give them a real job, and not child's play.  Get a life and leave others alone.

I have been receiving several of these calls daily for months.  As most have reported, they do not leave their name or name of who the call is for, what the debt is, etc. I also have no debt, so I ignore the calls. I was able to answer one call and it was just a recording, again with no identifying information. Last year I suffered  identity theft, which cost me $10,000+ (incl. attorney fees), and this year my bank account was hacked.  So to you who says pick up your phone and work out your debt; [***].

Got a call from this number they have a habit of calling. They expect me to call them back. They are debt collectors, neither I nor my husband are in debt, it should be against the laws for these [***] to harass people who do not owe anyone money.
Call all you want I no longer answer my phone I completely ignore it when it rings. Since telemarketers and every other [***] out there ignore the Do Not Call List, I ignore the ringing phone.

Do you not READ the comments. Lots of these people are getting calls for people NOT THERE.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
